@gamesbok Perhaps you wouldn't even need snow tires either, haha. I prefer to put the chains on before getting stuck. When I observe that conditions are getting to the point of needing them, I put them on, it's much easier than after getting buried. If I get stuck first, then I just have to do it the hard way. Thanks for your comment.
@AlohaSiempre True and thanks! I never wanted a set till I bought a condo at a ski resort and fixing it up myself ran afoul of the steep and poorly plowed road. I do not have a 4x4.
@PotatoGunsRule chains or for any tires that are on a car or truck that is sliding dangering people or property... if you can't grip the road put the chains on no matter what tires you have on your ride... yes chains can damage your steel belted raid.. if your worried get a set of winter tires. personally.. I'm from Hawaii, I'd stay home. lol
@0N33Y3G0D If used properly and not excessively they are not too bad, however chains are typically used as a last resort, and as such, they are very worthwhile vs being stranded somewhere. Thanks for watching and commenting, have a great day!!
I live in california so no problem with ice, but i always got curious about putting chains on the tires, and who knows, I might need install chains someday
When putting on the chain tensioner rubber it is wise to position one of the hooks into the outside cam chain connection hooking device to secure it with a little more than the metal ring.
Ur sposed to lay it down flat on the ground and drive over it then connect it.. Not put it on then drive forward that will make it harder then it should be
I have a set of those for my compact front wheel drive car. They come in handy when I need them even though I don't end up using them that much because my snow tires work so well. I install one set on my spare tire in my trunk and I leave the second set in the trunk. If I get stuck and can't move at all I just change the tire that's spinning the most and if that isn't enough I'll install the second set on the tire I removed so I can swap it out for the other front tire.
If I could roll forward a couple of feet I wouldn't need snow chains.

@34dibs No chains on "all season" tires? Why not?
PotatoGunsRule 1 month ago
@PotatoGunsRule I don't know, one of our viewers said this. I would use them if it would get me out of a jam, regardless...even if not ideal..

You should really considering putting the hooks of that rubber tensioner facing out!
@ 34dibs - You can chain ANY tire out there, providing you have the proper chains.
