Any other archeological finding of early civilization were pre homosapien. I may be mistaken, but i don't think there is any evidence at all of the Lemuria, Atlantis, that is that we have found yet. The Sitchin thesis acknowledges 'evolution' based on the 'life seed' that exists in the universe. No problem there, however we (human beings) as an evolved, intelligent species arrived late on the scene with an apparent 'jump start' in the relatively recent past. How that 'jump start' occurred is an interesting question to be answered. As far as the 10,00 years of paleolithic history, that is the approximate same amount of time since the earth cataclysm we call "The Great Flood".

The Great Flood is hardly mythical. The end of the woolly mammoth, saber-toothed tiger, etc. happened at that time about 11,000 years ago. The ivory deposits in areas like Siberia are immense (in fact an entire island north of Siberia is composed of these bones) and the best 'guess' for this happening was a tsunami-type flood of immense proportions sweeping these animals to their death in these northern areas. Although you're right that humans were 'jump-started' much earlier than the Flood.

That's the most interesting part of this...these stories are recorded in cuneiform Sumerian, Akkadian, and Babylonian texts - not a modern UFO theory. Of course what is written is considered to be myth by modern scholars. Sitchin just asks, "What if these stories are based in fact?" The knowledge the Sumerians had was given to them by their Anunnaki masters...this the Sumerians freely and candidly admit.

It goes back approximately 10-12,000 years in Mesopotamia (discovered).

There were fairly advanced farming communities in the north for instance, which had proto-potters wheels, and made very good pottery that has been dated to almost 7,000 B.C.

My point is that the this pre-dates the founding of latter Sumerian cities like Uruk in the south, showing a gradual development of culture in the region.

Hey Barty, there is a theory the human race was nearly extinct during the last ice age. I believe such a narrowing of the population would have and possibly did explode due to the most favorable conditions since, the age we live in now. Our external features are superficial and the DNA strand is fairly narrow. This too is a possible explanation for the origins of the Adam and Eve myth.

I've suggested that a couple of times and people really don't like you pissing on their parade. I try to stay objective and think about the "what ifs". Like what if the Christian religion is a watered down version of this or the other way around? What really puzzles me is 1st, I don't believe Smith could read Egyptian. But Sitchen's story didn't come out till 120 or 30 years later. How did he come up with this story?

How Smith came up with that story really puzzles me. If he'd really been able to read Egyptian he'd have known the scrolls were just a funeral. But let's say he did, and purposely mislead people? I would say there are several possibilities...

1) both stories developed independently..

2) Sitchen was a bit of a copy cat

3) There is a common source for the stories.

Oddly I've found that some of those other books can actually verify many things in the Bible in a paradoxical kind of way.
