  • By the way, to all those who think they are different dogs, THEY ARE NOT! The only difference, is that it is older (so the fur is longer) and that it is SOOOO much more happier by the end of the video! The behavior is what makes them seem different.

  • Catalin, you are an AMAZING trainer! You completely transformed that dog! By the end of the video, you never could have guessed that it even had panic problems. It looks so happy now, with is tail wagging, and its all thanks you you!

Clicker Training, Personal technique, which ever you use, you have changed this dogs life, and thats more than enough to admire! I hope in the future, I can become as great of a trainer as you! Thank you for uploading your videos!

  • y una porra

    son perros distintos

  • Hi hi! Have you tried anxiety zero technique (Go to anxiety0.info)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy pretty much cured worries with it.

  • Its very good video.

  • I see no positive reinforcement going on there, the dog must have been forced to do something she didn't like over and over and neglected before she came to you. Clicker training is the way to go, you show little to no methods of what you do, and it does not look very dog friendly from what I have seen. I have two amazingly socialized and welltrained retrievers at home and they were both clicker trained and positively reinforced. Do not punish a dog for being scared.

  • @DelDogLuvr Congrats for achieving your goal with your dogs! Dog training is not just clicker training. I've also experienced clicker training(check out some of my videos), but rehabilitation is not only through clicker training.

  • i got a 7 month old dog... cane corso/ fila brasileiro mix.

when i picked her up she was all jumpy and happy.

but as soon as we arrived at our home (her new home) she is afread of us..she comes and sleeps all the way where we sit and watch tv, but the moment someone walks towars her to pet her, she runs away...it has only been 3 weeks...shall I give her more time to addapt or shall I seek for the right moment to put a collar on her and drag her around everyday untill she settles?

    pls advice

  • she is afraid ....she's not that type of dog that'll run up to someone to sniff them..like any other 7month old dog would do ...

its somewhat depressing because we're like "she is so damn beautifull and reacts so well to her namee but yet she's afraid!!"

  • what a difference

  • pulling a dogs neck with that kind o collar kan make its pressure go up and want to attack even more.better using a harness

  • that is hateful i cant even wach porr dog

  • i'm sure it's the same dog because my girlfriend's golden retriever (7 months) attends Catalin Cornea's training course. She had a big problem with the dog's behavior and at the end of the first training day (in just 1 hour) we had a "different" dog at home :))

So you can say it's a diferent dog because Catalin has the gift of understanding dog and the patience to teach not only the dog to behave but all so the owner to behave and understand the dog's needs.

    p.s. Catalin... Jack says hy

  • gee betcha i know! "goldie" was never socialized as a puppy...... not hard to see. stupid owners

  • classic, its not the dogs, its the owners dont have a clue how to train them.. the owners need to go to puppy school not the dogs

  • I believe it is the same dog.. i have a golden retriever 12 years old.. and most almost all goldens are hard to walk while puppies the first 2 years are generally hard... but as they mature they become responsible and easy to walk..

  • bai cred ca ar trebui un ham la catelul acesta ;) [trage tare si exista riscu sa faca rani la gat sau sa se inece...]

  • i have a golden retriever that pulls but i taught her not to but she cant go without a leash

  • Training is always for the owner, not the dog.

  • DID THOSE DOGS SMOKED CRACK ?

  • Cesar Millan could train that dog to be perfect in one hour.

  • is the same dog??.......

  • I dont mean to offend and perhaps I am wrong, but I did notice the first dog's tail gets darker as it decends the second is a beautiful long haired retriever with almost white on all the tail, the nose and eyes seem to be different too, now the video isnt great quality and I am no pro, but my family breed hunting dogs and I have a good eye for individuals faces in canines, this is perhaps why other people are suggesting its a different dog too, im only highlighting it, i mean no offence.

  • I have a golden too, and I don't think I would ever want to own another breed. I just can help but wonder why they're so scared of everything though! If I pick up my laundry basket to go do laundry my dog runs.

  • working dogs like retrievers should really not be keeped in an urban city. they are dogs that need open fields and more relaxing enviroments. i would be scarred too if i were being walked in a concrete jungles with cars flying everywhere..but thats just me.

  • Goldens prefer to be in a flat with people that cares about him to being alone in a yard

  • Is clikertranig really the only modern way of traning you know? It must be sins you mention it all the time.I haver never talked about it. And ofcouse you don´t become at great dogtrainer only by reradig a book, but books can broaden your horizon.

White med if you decide to read them. Im out.

  • Maybe it's not the modern way... but is the most positive training method. I trained dogs through clicker training, with great results. But I have to tell you that isn't work all the time.

I red many dog training books... Don't forget! The most important in dog training is the results. This golden retriever, from the video is rehabilitated, that's the most important for the owner!

  • @CataCornea may I ask,do you mean the most important thing is the result no matter how sever the training? because that just defeats the whole purpose, you simply CAN NOT frighten a dog into a new behaviour that just creates other severe behavioural problems, the animal needs firstly comfort and trust, then encouragment, then repeatitive rehabilitation, then REWARD, this is the most 'Old fashioned' and humane way to train a dog.

  • ... Like I said, earlier, I am no pro but my family breed hunting dogs, namely Labradores and Springers, again some dogs need different training and the clicker isnt all that bad for some, but can damage others. and I mean no offence just giving my 2 cents :) I love dogs aand both retreivers in the vid are beautiful and well cared for you can see that :)

  • It seems af if there is beeing jused at lot of force like pulling the leash, a forced sit etc. And i my opinion force should never be jused in dogtraning.

I would difinetly recomend everybody to read thres books on positive dogtraning "when pigs fly" by Jane Killion","Don´t shoot the dog" by Karen Pryor and "the other end of the leash -why we do what we do around dogs" by Patricia Mcconnel. It is vere good and dogfrindly books.

  • Everybody's free to read any book ... but in reality what is written in a book cannot solve some behavioral problems if the experience is less.

The forcing sit was just an example of how tensioned was the dog's body. It wasn't the way of shaping her sit. It wasn't a lot of force in the rehabilitation training. Believe me, that dog wouldn't be rehabilitated using only clicker training as methods. I think you like poetry... it looks like!

  • Of course force should never be used in dog training, but there are many reliable methods in dog training not only clicker as representing positive in dog training. Using intelligent combinations of all methods personalized on dog's behavior and needs, is the best way to get an animal from darkness to light.

  • Well, It does nok look like the same dog, and there is no explenation of methods what so ever. And what littel is shown seem wery olde fasioned and not very dogfrindly.

  • It is the same dog, different age with the hair grown.

It is not the issue to explain the methods of rehabilitation.

By the way, I don't know what you mean with "old fashioned", but believe me, that dog is more controllable then any clicker trained dog(if you understand that a clicker trained dog is a new fashion one).

The method used for this dog is a personalized one. There is a combination of a bunch of dog training methods.

  • God Bless You for taking that dog's fears and anxiety away. :-)

  • it dont look like the same dog but you needed to try and calm your pet down like peting it and hers a trick that worked on my dog put it on the lesh and start walking away from you house when it trys to run or pull on the lesh head back to the house ans keep doing that and dont forget to say good girl/boy when it does not pull on the lesh or tryes to run im only 13 and it worked on my sheep dog

  • my rough collie is exactly like this dog in the beginning of the video. if not, worse! he won't even step out of the driveway :( please, do you have any helpful tips for me? my dog and myself will greatly appreciate it! looking forward to your reply. thanks.

  • you did a kickass job bud.

  • Wonderful job!

  • looks different dog

  • I am the trainer of this dog! I assure you that is the same dog... But because of the age which is different from a moment to another, the dog's hair grown. This is with the retrievers.

  • @catalin30 | my golden is also afraid of almost everything, just that she doesnt have this hardcore panic attacks, but she is definitively too scared. Can you help me? she is almost 1 year old and still is afraid of people when they come home or when she is outside, how can i make her have trust? - Since she was a 3 months puppy she became very scared but we didn't do anything to make her be that way! we are always loving her the right way, HELP PLEASE!!! I have tried everything to calm her down

  • @catalin30 DOG ABUSE

  • @catalin30 mine does the same but only with other dogs and sometimes cars or anything she doesnt like

  • If they filmed the dog when it was a lot older it might have grown some hair. It did look very young at the beginning. I have two Retrievers, so I know what I'm talking about.

  • Of course NOT SAME!!

  • It's not the same dog. The other one is younger and has finer lines than the one at the end of the video. it's body shape is different. the one at the end has more of a block head.. like the English Golden, the first dog has a narrowed head, like the American Golden.

  • it's the same dg but older. training doesn't happen in 2 days

  • that is the same dog if you watch closely you will see it too

  • poor dog :(

  • what's the name of that music on the second half of this video? who's the artist?

  • Song: Lefty's Lounge

    Artist: Eric Marienthal

    Album: Turn up the Heat

    Jeez I love Shazam!

  • Should be the same dog. Golden retrievers grows A LOT OF HAIR and the color changes from light to dark from when they're a puppy to an adult.

When I got my retriever, he was really scared too. Well, my dog is still a bit...a scaredy cat. He's 9 months old now D:

  • What is the title of the music at the beginning?

  • not same dog and i just want to say DONT ABUSE ANIMALS they will love you if you love them dogs cats horses cows ect depend on us to lead them so dont be foolish and hurt them lead them properly and they will live long time plz plz DONT ABUSE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont think it is the same dog the coats look different, much longer in the second filming.

  • this isnt the same dog

  • such a good dog! so well-trained and so happi =)

  • If that really is the same dog, I am wildly impressed. Not only does the dog become safe with the trainer, but it is also feeling safe with its owner after the therapy. This is truly great work.

  • they should be treated well and just play with them evryday as much time as needed

  • Doesn't those leashes hurt the dogs' necks? I mean with all the twisting and turn its gotta

  • is the dog ok by the end i mean it saus (panic attach)

  • Wow! I'm impressed. This is a much happier dog .

  • the fur's color appears different in the end, somehow... more golden/yellow than in the beginning of the clip

  • hey dude how can ia train my dog like that i`m from mexico and my dog is a golden retriever help me please it has about 4 mounts

  • The main reason why I registered on youtube was to show appreciation for this trainer.

Catalin, you are truly a real wizard!

Bravo, keep up a great work!

  • Thank you very much Lana! You're very kind!

  • I wonder if systematic desensitization will work on dogs for panic disorders?

the quality of the video makes it hard to see if it is the same dog or not. Maybe try upload a clearer video.

  • Desensitiation works in many cases.

I cannot upload a clearer version of this video, because, the pixels of the camera that I had in tht period of time were poor.

If you see more other videos of mine today, you can see that the quality is highly improved.

  • ahhh soooooooooo cute!

  • I wish I had someone professional around when we had problems with my last dog. Then again, I prob couldn't have afforded him/her. My dog was a hound mixed, and his head was about the same size as his neck. We tried harnesses, regular collars, and even those pinching collars. We had to take him to the vet after he managed to tear his neck up while walking with the pincher collar, and the rest he got out of doing similar to what that dog was doing during the earlier part of the vid.

  • Ah ha ha! That's not even the same dog. Is this a serious ad?

  • It's the same dog, you muppet. Maybe you should check out some of the other videos, you know...do some research, before you comment like a fool in the future.

Christ, the amount of idiots commenting on YouTube...can't believe this video has gotten such an amount of spiteful comments from morons with no talents of their own.

  • Hehe! I don't think that's even the same breed...the first dog looks more like a lab, the second is definitely a goldie.

No one has ever called me a muppet before. Me muppet! :)

And this is still an embarrassingly fake ad. Sorry you were taken in...

  • It's the same breed. "The first one" is a Golden puppie, "the second one" is the same dog many months later. If you look at catalins other videos, you'll the that he's got no reason whatsoever to fake this video. Plenty of other impressive stuff.

P.S. "Muppet" is the best insult there is, imo :-)

  • It is very serious! Believe me, it's the very same dog... no joke around here!

  • disturbing

  • not the same dog...

  • Cesar Millan can fix it ;)

  • the best thin to do when walking dogs is cut them some slack on the lead! shes clearly not its why he's freaking out the poor thing :( !

  • Hahaha with a dog like this all you can do is take it for a drag.

  • the fucking lady is choking it! poor thing!

  • i agree the smarter thing to do would be to put a harness on the poor baby :(

  • umm since when did i say put it to sleep man? O_O i dispise people who put dogs to sleep for one thing

and another i also didn't say to let it get hit by a car

i simpy stated the fact that he should wear a harnes unstead

don't put words into my mouth dude

  • Comment removed

  • Compliments on your skill and genuine care for the dog. And the same goes for the old lady who was responsible enough to contact a trainer. This video made my day.

    Well done, sir.

  • Thank you for your comment! I think a trainer is like a doctor. Has to do everything he can to help the owner and dogs.

  • True that. And honestly it seems like the best job in the world, if you ask me. Although I'm sure it takes a lot of hard work and patience, but still...I would love being a dog-trainer. Damn, I feel inspired.

Well anyways, good luck on your future endeavors.

  • Cant be the same dog, if not the hair on the dog has grown longer...

  • it transformed from a pitbull to a golden retriever lol

  • You should never push down on a dog's hips!

  • why?

  • Because, it can cause long term damage to the dog's hips, especially in puppies or young dogs like the one in this video. Not to mention, that is not the way to ask a dog a sit-- it's not even asking. With dogs who have Hip Dysplasia, this can cause the dog's pelvis to drop.

  • Thats not good

  • actually, pushing down on the hips is a way to make the dog sit

  • Actually, it's better to lift their chin up instead.

  • this was actually, a way to exemplify the dog's body tension.

  • Oh my god goldens are never like that.. Poor thing he mustnt have been socialized at all to be like that but hes really transformed into an awsum dog!!

  • THE POOR DOG

  • GET CEASER MILAN ON THE CASE!!!!!! :-)

  • I dunno...the dog DOES look different. But then again, it could just be healthier. I've seen abused dogs who get good homes and look completely different. So maybe it's the same dog. -shrug-

  • it's not same dog!

  • As you wish!

  • @barbuniapilaki thats a very unintelligent remark!

  • Plus, it's not the same dog, is it?

  • What on earth did they do to that poor dog to make her so scared of the environment like that? That's completely opposite of a Retriever's natural tendencies.

  • are you sure its a panic attack looks more like the owners are tugging at him the collar looks tight too.

  • Its just like my dog! rofl

  • that dog just needs acclimatising to its sorroundings.

  • SUPER,BRAVO

  • Thank you!!

  • lol never use that Belt with a big dog like that, use Harness! you can sofocate the dog with that belt.

  • The lady look's scared too.

  • lol, two totally different dogs. Nice try though.

short haired young dog for the first 2 minutes.

older long haired dog the last 2 minutes.

  • I really wish each and EVERY dog owner (including those with small dogs) would invest in serious training (not just an 8-week course either, but a lifetime commitment to obedience work) with their dog. The difference it makes is simply astounding. The way I see it, if you are unwilling or unable to make this commitment, you should not own a dog!

  • You showed us a poor dog at first, and then the cured one at last. But you didnt said how, what do you want? Just to show off your bullshit talent? If you really a good guy, at least tell us how. This vid is bullshit

  • Do you have any talent? I don't think so... No offence!

  • My Chessie has been having panic attacks, unrelated of being afraid of people, cars or noise. They are sudden, and I can detect insecurity, total panic and she is barely recognizing me. She barks like crazy, runs through the whole house and trying to hide ultimately under the bed. Frantic for a while, I can snap her out of it with much talk, but I do not know the trigger of her panic!

Very hard to pin point the issue.

What can be done with that?

  • that aint normal take the dog to the vet

  • wow

  • aw good to see the dog much happier

  • pas spécale

  • poor dog

  • So how should I choose my golden? I will usually choose a puppy which is quiet and reserved and not really boisterous. I'm afraid she will become like in the first part. But as for the last part, how did you do it? She's a very good girl. Did you go for training classes or did you consult a behaviourist?

  • Dog really panic attack?

  • Fur grows -_- Anyway, that was a good job ;) He's more matured and a lot happier after the rehab...

  • That is SOOO NOT the same dog!! The first one has little hair.. the second has hair in abundance!!

  • If a dog isn't healthy, psychologically or physically they will not have a healthy coat. This video illustrates that; the healthier a dog is the better it will look.

  • ce naiba i-ai facut?transplant de creier? :)

P.S: vad ca dresajul face bine si la blana :P

  • Great job! Lab looks WAY happier.

  • YEAH! For not 'giving up' on this dog! Kudos to you and all your efforts...and of course the woof's efforts!

  • that's sad.

but it's good how he got

    rehabilitated (:

  • Fuck tat!! tats wel a dif dog haha ah only joken bu ud tink tat!! wat a change!!

  • Wow, the trainers for this dog must be amazingly talented.. :)

  • Awesome..

  • Golden need to work. It a hard rock town with not ducks. I have a golden like that but it just takes tlc. Don't wast your time. Clicker training.

  • omg!don't you see??? look at the dogs tail before and after! look at it's face! it's not the same one!!! Besides training isn't what matters! my grandmother has an extremely nervous dog that is absolutely terified of everything. i was living with her for 2 weeks and it wouldn't even come near me for 1 and a half! Note that this dog is perfectly trained. she goes for walks without a leash and even waits outside while my grandmother shops without needing to be restrained! Don't be fooled people!!!

  • Try to read previous posts comments, where it is explained why the difference exists. Also try to study more about the G.R. breed, and you'll find out how the hair grows to different ages at this breed. Just look at the person, before and after...Is it the same? The woman from the video is the owner. Or you think that she could be so silly to accept a cheating like you say?

  • You've never owned a golden, I'm guessing.

Their hair does grow differently at different stages.

  • SCREW YOU!That is just so mean :(

  • wow...you guys dont know whats going on in this video, in the beginning that was when they got the dog and it wasnt trained, then at the end they showed it after they trained it...

  • we always try to make animals to behave like humans.

I think that it will be good if we try to communicate with

animals and not being a BOSS to them.

  • poor baby....i glad she is nolonger scared

  • is that a golden? it's not very hairy...they normally have really bushy tails

  • the dog just need the right traning and pact leader!

  • So sad to see this makes me wonder why people dont take time to train their dogs, and they turn out like this.

  • All this video shows is that the lady was to lazy to put in the time to train her own dog people like her piss me off. She's like the fat people on tv that say they cant loose weight then loose 5kg's in the 1st week after being forced to get off there fat ass.

  • zal jekie pedały :( :?:?:?:?: szkody tych psów

  • lol the guy chancge dog , too a trained dog >.>

  • this dog doesnt seem like hes having a panic attack, he just wants to run up to any human he sees and jump on them lol

  • These dogs are better off leash!

  • I don't like this video... I love goldens and they are way better than this!

  • Is the openning theam by J.S Bach?

  • another dog was put in place...

  • thats a big difference

  • my female is the same way while walking, she wont walk without her german sheppard sister. are panic attacks in female goldens normal?

  • It not a matter of being males or females. It is depending from dog to dog. It's not a matter of socialization , especially, it's a matter of having sensitivity to stimulus or distractions... Some dogs are quite weak in their psychic. But this could be trained to become stronger.

  • u sound like an expert o the dog whisperer

  • miasmablk, just chill, its only a dog

no need to get pissed at it

besides you see goldies helping the blinds and deafs

    this ones just different

not in a bad way though.

  • why are amerian retrievers so small? me and three of my mates have got them and theyre all + 40 kgs?

  • Mine was 105 lbs when he was 2, now hes 7 and wieghs 95 lbs

  • not all American goldens are small my female golden retrievers cookie is 59lbs! and she has a full marvelous coat!

  • .ro is roemenia. its in europa

  • Idiot the golden is the best dog ever!
