  • Oscar Peterson called...He wants his everything back. Anyone can transcribe Oscar stuff and sound like him, but is it really such an accomplishment to never have your own style?

  • Eldar Azamat!

  • What a fabulous player! First time I ever heard of a person emerging from Kyrgyzstan

  • what style of music is that on 2:03 - 2:09??

    very fast...cool

  • @gustavofloripa Stride piano

  • @gustavofloripa I'm not totally sure ..... but I think it's could be "Ragtime" or "Dixieland" style of Jazz...

  • Jazz in the Eastern Hemisphere of the Earth is like Hip-Hop in the Western Hemisphere...

  • @jhoop37th what are you talking about?

  • @godelike I was thinking the same.

  • freaking amazin!! n he sound jus like oscar, and mccoy

  • He if from the Kyrgyz Republic - it is Central Asia

  • I think his playing is very different in style to Peterson's and the feeling that comes across is more robust and wild (due to personality, age...). I would say he does have 'feeling' in abundance - plus he has plenty of time to grow into a more nuanced performer.

  • Yes he's from Russia

  • @nvjharmonica try again!

  • sorrt, that i have to say that, but he plays it without any feeling. sure, his technic is incredible, but its without any groove.

  • My family and I met Eldar at a Christmas Party (he attended because Stanislav Ioudenitch was there) and he was nice and inspired me to start piano and to go to Interlochen Arts Camp. Well Done!!!!

  • playing piano is not just only about speed or skill......it needs something else, which livens up the melody.......

    nywys....nice play it was..

  • he has all the dexterity of peterson yes but not the touch or the swing

  • He's about the 3rd guy I've heard on youtube that possesses Oscar Peterson's manual dexterity. Nature only puts out one in a million! Awesome work for the prodigist.

  • i dont get everyone comparing him to oscar, he reminds me more of an art tatum, but then again oscar had a little of the art tatum thing going anyway

  • Check out the 4th guy...really a girl. Hiromi Uehara.

  • But can he play slow?

  • Actually he can play beautiful ballads. I saw him live at Dizzy's Club in New York when he first cameout. He was 17 and stayed the whole night. I think he is a very mature player. Not just fast but plays displays very sensitive ballad playing as well.

  • I was getting dizzy! and it wasn't because of the out focus ;)

  • Fantastic... Great... Thanks for posting

  • very intelligent play. He is in same line with hankock,corea,camilo..

  • the next oscar ??? hes good enuff

  • My friend knew him throughout grade school here in Kansas City

  • umm didn't he grow up over seas??

  • yes he grew somewhere in Eastern Europe and came here for Interlochen Arts Camp.

  • Place St. Henri Is Oscar's Composition!

  • Wow!!!!! at age 19? wow, he is killin.. does he do any production work?

  • ooooooooooh yeah. check out re-imagination. its my fave. in my opinion his best tracks are polaris and south bixel. but they are all fire fo sho

  • He's just amazing, I love to watch him play, I go see him every time he's in town.

  • what's the peterson orginal that he's playing, i can't recognize it

  • they burn...it's good.

  • I heard Eldar four years ago when he was 16. He blew everyone away. He reminds me a bit of Andre Previn. It is very unusual to find such mature playing at such a young age. Awesome!

  • Thanks a lot for sharing this vid with us. Eldar Djangirov and Tigran Hamasyan are my favorite young pianoplayers.

    This is a real wow!!

    :)

  • haah that was me in the background going 'oh my god' and 'oh shit' and things of that nature.

this was an excellent show. glad that you posted this

  • já um dos maiores nomes do jazz atualmente... tecnica incrível !!

  • 3:57!!!!?!?!?

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

  • Excellent!!! Thanks for posting this video. Eldar is such a great player.

  • Eldar is such a badass mofo! He totally tears it up on Place St Henri.

  • Oh man, thank you for posting that. All this at 20. Finally, another true prodigy in every sense. Oscar, Art, Chick, McCoy, Herbie, its all there, and yet he has his own voice at 20. Time to hang it up for me.
