  • Had real pain in gallbladder meridian everytime I bent down it hurt and I am a yoga teacher. Tried this exercise and saved me going to the acupuncturist. Feel so much better thank you I saved some money today.

  • As far as I know muscle that relates to GB the Gall Bladder meridian is Anterior Deltoid, which is around the shoulder area and controls the movement of the arm. The GB meridian does run along leg but as far as I know, that is energy or chi and not the physical matter. Meridians do effect the physical side of the body like the actual gall bladder and the muscle aforementioned. It appears that the stretch that you are suggesting is misguided.

  • @OksanasHK I can understand how this may appear to be misguided depending on the source of your information. Resistance stretching pioneered by Bob Cooley is based on the many thousands of hours of his personal experience stretching himself and with many others. As such, the meridians and corresponding muscle groups have been "rediscovered" and are not necessarily directly in line with TCM. The information has sprouted from the inside out and is constantly evolving and organically growing.

  • this is really good, i really like your videos! i work a lot with TCM and its very usefull :)

  • What does this have to do with the gall bladder?

  • These movements stretch and strengthen the muscles associated with the gall bladder meridian identified by Traditional Chinese Medicine. See my website at flexiblestrength (dot) com for a more in-depth explanation. Also see graphic of GB meridian here: yinyanghouse (dot) com/acupuncturepoints/gallbladder_meridian_graphic

  • thank you for the reply, not to be dismissive but how will stretching effect my gallbladder? All i wanted to do was to stretch my posterior chain, in order to jump higher.

im really not trying to be a internet tough guy, im just interested in how it would work.

  • By the way i checked out the site i saw the meridian system image. i just didn't understand how some stretches where connected to anxieties and stuff.

  • The stretches are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is based on energy channels that course through the body. Each meridian travels through specific muscle groups and then through a particular organ, thus they are named after the organ they pass through. With acupuncture, needles are used to stimulate these energy channels. This method uses stretching with resistance instead. I recommend reading The Genius of Flexibility, by Bob Cooley, for a full explanation.

  • Cool, tried acupuncture once on a ancle injury that would'nt go away. Think ill check out that book. Thanks again for the reply.

  • Got the book. thanks for the tip.

  • thanks
