  • Ahh. Make a $20 gun, sell it for $175, and offer a lifetime warranty, and the idiots out there think it must be a good gun! Move to fucking China asshole!

  • @PresenceCreative If what you say is true......they would be out of business, but yet they are one of the fastest growing firearms manufactures in the country. Common sence, idiot!!! LOL

  • Its a high point... its a piece of shit. Why would you even waste the money on it?

  • lmao! never said he was.just talking about the gun. lol!

  • HI POINT GUNS SUCK

  • @NOTSODOTCALM hahaha u wont 1

  • had a c9 got a carbine both junk buy glock or anything 1911

  • @poncho27ify I have boot ahdn they are fine, just not mmy opinion but many others. Hi Point has one of the best warrenties and customer service I have seen. Glock snob I guess.

  • You get what you pay for!!

  • Turd guns...save up and get a Glock. Just a little discipline in saving, and before ya know it, you'll have enough jack to buy somethin decent that ya won't be ashamed to show ur friends.

  • @nater9mm i have a glock & 2 hi points got 2 hi points for the price of a glock hi point is a very good gun!!

  • @nater9mm have you not seen the tourcher test they put a screw down the barel and fired 1000 more rounds through it its a lot more reliable than the glock.

  • @404040c What's wrong with you dude? The most expensive guns could do that - lighten up

  • I'm just glad no one got hurt.

  • That is your problem...Blazer ammo sucks!

  • Its called a slam fire, what do you expect from a cheap gun. its no surprise, get a glock and this wont happen.

  • Don't pull the trigger while you rack the slide.

  • Thank Goodness I don't go to the range no more you never know what piece of shit gun some fucken idiot is firing Hi-point should be taken off the market thankfully no one got fucken killed spend the extra 300 bucks get a decent ruger or smiith and wesson sig or heck get a taurus life is worth it ...smh @ rednecks and cheapskates

  • @404040c typical response from a gun snob.

  • @andlyndav Thats what she said ;)

  • @404040c Wow...good comeback!!!

  • @unscarred3227 Thats what she said Good cum on her back XD

  • don't buy a piece of shit gun and that won't happen

  • @martialarts2020 could you have made a more dumbass comment? i doubt it.

  • my brother bought a $1400 kymber 1911 an it slam fired 1st day out almost killed the guy next to him.so its not always the $. my hi-point 45 my c9 an my 45 citadel compact have never failed.an i like ruger as well.its all in luck most the time with cheap guns i know.seems i've been lucky! lol!

  • @jameswrwice He was pointing a firearm in the direction of another person while racking a round? Smart guy.

  • For anyone who didnt see what happened before, Hi Point apologized and replaced the gun. A spring broke that caused the malfunction. It was not the ammo. HI Point also sent a new magazine for free. I probably wont answer many more comments on this video. I get too many and dont want to answer the same question over and over. Thanks for watching everyone!

  • @LegendSexy I talked to a guy at Hi Point about this particular incident. He said that there was a foreign sear spring (NOT FACTORY) being used in the gun. And was not strong enough to work the sear properly.

  • I'm siting here watching ""The quick and the "Dead" reading the comments here and it kind of fits. Russell Crow has a two dollar revolver and one bullet and kills everybody he faces. The point being, $1000.00 or $10.00, if you clean them and use decent ammo, they all shoot bullets. When it comes right down to it, it's about the person using whatever happens to be available to do what needs to be done. A hi point in hand is worth more than ten Wilson's sitting at home in the gun cabinet.

  • i had a sks do this once, bad triger group, it was not fun

  • That gun sucks...

  • its called a slam fire, good thing that piece of junk did not kill or injure anyone.

  • It dosen't matter how great of a gun you are buying, there sill be a few bad apples out there. Buying a gun from any manufacturer is a gamble. Driving down the road or walking down the street every day is a bigger gamble in my opinion.

  • I can believe it did this.Even though its not the problem,Hi-Points are sintered metal peices of fucking shit.Tell your friend to save up the money and get something worth the buck

  • it could be that the firing pin was stuck outward, that would make the firearm go bang if you drop the slide.

  • i have a high piont 45 acp jhp ive had it for two years and cant count how many rounds ive fired. thousand maybe? never has jammed.never had any problems. i dont think any pistol is perfect

  • At least Hi-Point guarantees their guns; something Ruger does not.

  • They look, feel, and shoot like turds but they do shoot. Iraqveteran8888 has some cool torture tests of a couple. Sorry about your luck at least you still have your face.

  • So did the firing pin get stuck forward ???

  • my dad has the nine and brother had a 40 and they havent had a problem so it must be the ammo

  • bad-ammo...good gun....

  • this is why we don't buy cheap ammo, ive never had any problems with any hi-point guns.

  • @me09396 So people buy a 150$ pistol only to run expensive ammo through it?

  • @me09396 cheap ammo will not just go bang on it's own, cheap ammo might not go bang, or might have a case rupture. This is not a faulty ammo problem

  • @appagohm It is an ammo problem if the round before was a squib and the bullet was lodges in the barrel. Then another round fired behind it!!

  • @LegendSexy

    Yea

there is a reason its a SUB $200 gun new...

Want .45acp? Get a Ruger 1911; if you can afford it, the quality is there. Thats a goodie.

  • @spaxspore Go check out Ruger's warranty -- absolutely nada. & you gots to pay the freight & are responsible to pay to fix it if it fails.. Compare that to Hi-Point's guarantee.

  • @Thunkful2 i own 6 different rugers, rugers dont need a warranty, send it to them and it gets fixed. why would you pay if they cant fix it?

  • @2ndadmendmutt

Who pays the freight & for the repair?

According to what I have read the customer pays, even if it is Ruger's manufacturing error.

"Why would you pay if they cant fix it?"

    I don't understand the question.

As I understand it, you pay the shipping to & fro.

    I don't know what happens if they can't fix it;

I do know that they posted that they give NO warranty.

I don't know if they require payment in advance for attempted repair.

IMO, if u get a bad gun, it shud simply be replaced

  • @Thunkful2 the founder William Ruger stated many years ago, "our name is our warranty" they fix their guns. you pay shipping because you must use an ffl holding dealer to ship your gun. the dealer always charges a fee. its usually not much. it is true they have no written warranty but i have always gotten good service, my repairs were free (one was a sight that failed and was replaced the other, a timing issue which was corrected for no charge other than shipping) you can trust ruger

  • @Thunkful2 You've obviously never talked to Ruger's customer service...

  • For example, I bought an Olympia TV set (actually a monitor). It went bad in a few months. Olympia sent UPS to my home to pick it up & sent me a new TV gratis.

My Samsung TV went bad in less than a year. They sent a tech out to my home who replaced a circuit board -- no charge to me.

On a manufacturing defect, Ruger should do as well.

  • @2ndadmendmutt

i agree the ruger is a much better firearm i have a few revolvers that are 36 and 30 years old respectively never failed and probably wont ever fail had a ruger .45 awesome gun, bought a high point jhp .45 sent it back a week later and requested a refund did the same thing as in this video slamfired but mine also craked the slide as well so you get what you pay for thats for sure and i dont care about the warranty stats i dont want to have to send my gun in at all

  • @sarge242 rugers are so damn overbuilt it took 15+ years of constant (nearly daily) shooting for that revolver (357 mag) to go out of time, i honestly recommend them to any one.

  • @2ndadmendmutt

both my revolvers the timing is still damn near perfect as well lol i like the overbuilt statement you made you are correct they are like timex's take a lickin and keep on tickin

  • @sarge242 You.....sir.... are a LIAR!!

  • @unscarred3227 im a liar fo stating the true and simple fact that a ruger is of a better quality than a pos high point? well then sir you are an idiot ill say it again you get what you pay for!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sarge242 LOL dumbass.....I didn't say a Hi Point is better than a Ruger. I said You are lieing about the slide cracking. And I"m sorry for calling you "sir" !! You obviously don't deserve the respect. A Hi Point is what it is........but VERY reliable!!

  • @lethalweapon129 I agree with that. I have one because it was to be a replacement for a more expensive weapon that was stolen from my car. I didn't expect it to do anything other than go bang when I pull the trigger and it does that every bit as well as any of my other guns, so there's some value there. It's not a flashy weapon and has zero prestige, but it functions reliably and costs squat.

  • @lethalweapon129 - well thats sound advice. I know someone who had the same deal. Yeah I agree people not comparing apples to apples makes no sence.

  • @lethalweapon129 - you should post some vids of some of your accomplishments.

  • I have a high point concealed in my vehicle most of the time. It was purchased from a game warden for $50. I've never experienced any malfunction other than a simple stovepipe jam once or twice. More reliable than my PPK and about the same as my 1st gen Glock 21. Nothing wrong with Hi Point handguns and I wonder how many of the people commenting here actually have one.

  • Hi Point is a POS WEAPON! Please - NEVER buy this brand! They should be out of business by now. Hi Point is the Mad Dog 20/20 version of firearms - cheap $150 handguns for gang bangers. DO NOT TRUST YOU LIFE WITH THESE POS GUNS!

  • @PresenceCreative If they WERE a POS...then they would be out of business with a Lifetime Warranty. Sooo obviously they work!!

  • mine never fails

  • ...no kidding- you're lucky you still have your hand

  • send it back, i wouldnt want it back even if they fix it. not worth losin some digits

  • Thankfully nobody was killed.

  • i've had no problems with mine!

  • i remember my first hi point, bought it for ammo tests.owned it for 1 year try to put 1000 rounds through it and fail at round 320 or so. had countless ftf fte and one "det on load" like in this clip, mean while my kimber functioned flawlessly. im setting at the 4-5000 round mark with it.

  • i have a hi-point 40 i have had for about 2 years now with about 400 round through it and have never had a jam i love it and only paid 160 for it

  • I had the same thing happen with a $1200 springfield 1911, Launched an invesitigation at the gun range with 23 guys all looking at it. General concensus indicated a high primer on a reloaded shell ! The springfield also blew the bottom of the mag and all the shells out at the same time!!

  • dam u lemons!!!

  • Ever hear back from Hi Point?

  • no i have hi point 45 and it does great the ammo you use for this gun is fedal it works the best no jams clean running

  • CHEAP gun + CHEAP ammo = "Very, very bad day" (<--fpsRussia). As some already stated, You GOT what you paid for...

  • All guns have lemons I have had my JHP for a few years and it shoots fine.

  • If you need an inexpensive gun, a NEW S&W 642 is about $362. A Ruger LC9 is $365. Glock Police trade-ins go as low as $319. A new Ruger SR9c is $399. You may be able to find used guns around $300.

  • GLOCK WHEN QUALITY DOSENT MATTER....Hi-Point isnt a bad company I have heard of GLOCKS coming complety apart while being fired a plastic gun is a plastic gun you want a gun that wont do you wrong I have one word for you REVOLVER...BTW Hi-Points warranty cant be beat true lifetime transfers with the gun does GLOCKS?

  • sks have a habit of slam firing, and they are considered to be one of the best rifles ever made, shit happens

  • I'v been shooting with a hi point 45 for 2 years now and i havnt had any problems from it. Its all about how you maintain the gun. For the price that you pay for them they are pretty good guns

  • sounds to me like you kept your finger on the trigger when you shouldn't of had it there. If Hi-Points were really so bad, then how come they haven't been sued into oblivion already!????

  • Catastrophic Failure? "Slam Fire" would be a more accurate title.

Thanks for posting. Anyone that owns a striker fired pistol should learn from this.

Almost all the plastic fantastic pistols are striker fired. If round had chambered it

could have gone full auto like a British Sten.

Scary if you're pointed safely downrange.

Sad day at the races if in a group and muzzle climb walks rounds up your friends legs and chest.

  • Whoever owns this needs to sell it, and save for a glock, sig or hk. be patient and save your pennies. do not sell yourself for that which will canker.

  • It sounds like it was the weapon in this case. Hi point even admits this . What I'm stating is that for the price you roll the dice and sometimes win. Besides all manufactures have recalls, bad batches, and bad parts!!! We normally try to eliminate these bad parts by going with high end gear but once in a while a bargain comes along. Besides not everyone can afford $2000.00 for a good reliable piece. That's all I'm trying to say here.

  • @Lonlon412 Spring broke and it cause the firing pin to stay forward.

  • You get what you pay for.

  • @desertarsenalist Indeed

  • i have a .45 and it used to jam a lot when i first got it but it has not done so in about a year, seems that they get better with age, i think its because the parts have to "wear-in"...sounds weird i know but these guns are not exactly high quality but i still like mine, for the money its not too bad but i have to agree, you do get what you pay for like anything else. If you want to send some money just go with a Springfield.

  • I've shot my highpoint .45 for about a year now without any problems. Just consistent good accurate results. I will however say this. Every gun range ive been to must be aware of serious problems with cheap ammo because they always ask if I'm shooting cheap ammo or reloads of cheap ammo and to avoid it at all cost !!!

  • @13eminence In this case it was the firearms failure according to Hi Point

  • You get what you pay for. Do you seriously consider this, or any thing made by Highpoint to be a quality firearm? You know better then this.....

  • @pwchesser This was a buddys

  • @pwchesser its a budget hand gun no shit.......not everybody can dish out 500 dollers for a .45

  • @pwchesser Agreed I dont understand why people buy these guns. seriously if you have 189.99 to spend on this thing then save up another 189.99 and get something worth the money and half the weight thats more reliable. It may take longer for you to save that much up but you will be happier in the long run

  • @pwchesser the 995's are rated pretty decent. No problems with mine.

  • @pwchesser

I agree. I own the c9. it was 100 bucks. i use it like a gun that cost 100 bucks. i throw it in mud used it as a hammer(unloaded of coarse) to pound out a stuck casing out of the chamber of another gun. I load any ammo I want in it with no regard for whether it "likes" it or not. i never clean it. NEVER. i do brush the barrel simply to reduce copper and lead buildup to prevent a rare possibility of a over pressured barrel.its never seen oil though.for those uses its good

  • That usualy happens when you don't clean the groove fore the firing pin, the springs break, or the weapon has a deffective slide. I've had the same thing happen with a sig 37 stitches and sig refused to even look @ the weapon and it was brand new luckily the gun shop I bought it from took care of it

  • @angrybeef2000 This gun only had one mag through it before it did this. But thats exactly what happened.

  • This is the first vid of people saying hi-points are junk. All the reviews I've read say they're great for the price.

  • @filoIII Ya haha. People are arguing over this video all the time.

  • lol hi point suck... i wanna get one of those S&W sd40.. i think thats as good as it gets when buying a quality pistol without breaking the bank.. im glad u posted this.. awsome video.

  • @papichu10 Thanks for watching!

  • It was not the ammo.... Hi-point told him it was the gun! Unless they are trying to give them selves a bad name.... or should I say reinforce the bad name that they already have?

  • @afnNightmare Thanks for the backup. People are either blaming the hipoint or ammo and they defend them crazily. You just cant reason with some of these people.

  • It's the ammo!

  • @dblixt1 Not this time. It was the firearm's failure according to hipoint.

  • looks like a slam fire / failure for the firing pin to move back all the way..causing it to protrude upon closing.

  • Hi point guns are shit.

  • @flightoftheunknown I cant deny this.

  • used blazer holy crap or you used a reload theres no way the firing pin engaged it self you had to have your finger on the trigger while you racked it back

  • @djkaos100proof Factory Blazer ammo was used. Hi Point said it was a failure of the firing pin to reset because of a spring failure. They sent a new gun and a free magazine and an apology.

  • @LegendSexy well atleast u got a free magazine :) main thing is that nobody got hurt.

  • Makes me wonder bout my 45 jhp.remington would b aight u think.as for ammo

  • @supercalifero Hi Point said it was a failure of the firearm itself, not the ammo.

  • It's the cheapest gun ever loaded with the cheapest ammo made! What did you think was gonna happen? XD

  • @GCatalan702 Fireworks show:P

  • I'd agree it was probably the el cheapo aluminum cased ammo not the gun...Even though hi points are usually only one day range guns...You shoot them til they need cleaned, and throw em away...What do you want for 100 bucks?

  • @salembadass More ammo:p

  • I would have bought a Hi-Point but then I realized how much I liked the use of my hands and face.

  • @the308capital Haha

  • @the308capital funny thing is guy didnt get any injury to his hands or face, glock ka-boom likes to remove fingers and fry your face guess even when you make the cheap pos hi-point go ka-boom its still better than a block, HA HA HA.

  • I used to have a .380 hi point and it was not jhp friendly. This is not a firearm to bet your life on. If funds are tight, save up for a keltec, or even a used quality firearm. I did not have and accidents like this, but the jam factor is up there with the Jennings pos.

  • @patriotim12 Ya you get what you pay for.

  • This is the first Ka-Boom video iv'e ever seen of a Hi-Point, except for that 9mil those pawn shop guys jammed a bolt down the barrel of, thanks for posting, please post again if the factory has an explanation for as to what happened. Glad you weren't hurt

  • I went on the Net and googled around for a while, seems this isnt the first catastrophic failure using aluminum cased CCI Blazer ammo, and not just in Hi Points: in much costlier and well made pistols, be wary folks.

  • @MasterAceman123456 Good observation. Thanks for the info.

  • No telling why it did that, Blazer is cheapo ammo, id blame it over the gun, point is it didnt let you get hurt, something to keep in mind.

  • @MasterAceman123456 Good point.

  • thats a quality firearm right there

  • @UrbanKnight12 Haha

  • @LegendSexy I see why the HP fankids rave about it so much, DEF on par with SIG and Glock, and only $150! I dont know why someone woild want to pay $470+ for a Glock when you can have this dependable firearm for so much less :P

  • what to you expect for 150 bucks?

  • @FROSTBITE23 Duh what I pay for lol

  • why own a hi-point unless you absolutely have to?

  • @humblehim Ironically my friend bought it to see if Hi Points were really that bad haha.

  • @LegendSexy my brother has a Hi-Point .45 because it was a cheap gift and it went bang. it's a last resort weapon with all it's flaws and extremely complicated field strip...but i've watched video of people that are competing with them! it blows my mind..i dont get it

  • @humblehim Sometimes people just have to know or prove others wrong.

  • Actually, i've made a video about how this could happen with the hi points. I shall issue it as a video reply, people need to k now about this. It is not a good idea to cycle live rounds manually through hi points.

  • @EliteAmericans Sounds good

  • The firing pins in these guns actually stay in a forward position until just right before the bolt completely closes. I would assume that the pin stayed in a forward condition, and after the bolt seated it smacked right into the cartridge's primer, causing the round to fire. All because of a bad spring.

You're damn lucky you had your pistol aimed in a safe direction. Your respect for firearms and careful handling saved yours (and possibly someone elses) life.

  • @BassmanSW :) Thanks

  • oh my god.... image you have chamber a round for self defense and that happened... i haven't seen this before what did hi point say about the accident?

  • @gunitup234 They apologized and sent a new gun with another mag. Then they said the problem involved a broken spring that affected the firing pin.

  • So what was the problem? sounds like a slam fire.. Usually those are caused by sized firing pin's.

  • @opisex

    Excuse me not "sized" Seized.

  • @opisex I believe that was the problem. It got sent into hi-point last week but It hasn't got back here yet.

  • @LegendSexy

Ah in that case In the future you might try cleaning it first.. Seized firing pins generally just require a cleaning.. but I'll be curious what HP says it was.. if they do at all.. A lot of times they simply send a new gun.

  • @opisex Ill let ya know. The gun was clean before we shot it. So it might be more. Ill do an update when I hear back from hipoint.

  • @opisex Hi point said there was a broken spring inside. Firing affected the way the firing pin was.

  • Wild, I just got mine back from Haskell for a similer problem. The shear pin failed on mine causing the slide to not fully cycle and the pin to not retract. I got mine back from Hi-point 3 days after I mailed it to the factory with a free mag and new sights. When did your friend get his? May be the same lot number.

  • @unclesaluki Well that's no good. He got his last fall I think. Im out of town right now but if you remind me ill definitely ask him which one it was from. Pm me sometime later this week. I wont be back until next saturday night. Glad your ok!

  • you know I love how most ppl bad mouth the more inexpenseive gun but why dont you all watch iraqvetran's video on the hi-point he put one there hell and the thing fired and tried to blow one up ... so in short highend guns can have just as many problems and the inexpenceive one kimber glock sig ruger they all have there problems but atleast hi-point stands behind there guns

  • @nilox33 Yep all manufacturers have problems at one point or another. One of the worst experiences I had was with a SIG where the slide broke in half and came and hit me in the chest. There was a casting problem with their metal. Anything can happen but I usually give companies a second chance. You have to figure out that of a million guns you might have got the lemon.

  • There is a chance that the firing pin stayed forward. If that striker channel is dirty, it can cause the firing pin the stick forward.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 The gun was clean, but somehow the firing pin still stayed forward.

  • Blazer ammo is complete garbage and has been known to make unwanted kabooms , look up handgun kaboom and you will see what I mean . Either way Hipoint will fix it

  • @Proedge352 From what Ive heard the firing pin stayed locked foward and as the slide went forward it actuated the primer and made it go off.

  • @11Bravoshitbag Dude... you should've played with a jennings, raven arms, davis or a lorcin...pot metal crap de le creme.. the HI-POINT aint much better, but it is at least steel, not cast zinc.

  • @11Bravoshitbag Indeed

  • @LegendSexy buying cheap garbage ammo was probably your only mistake . Love how you guys will blame the gun over the shit ammo . Atleast the gun was tough enough to keep from exploding in your hand unlike other expensive guns that WILL explode sending shards into your hand and face like a beretta or xd or glock . Research handgun kaboom and count the high end guns that blew apart and DID cause injury due to bad ammo

  • This is why you buy a good gun and avoid being a cheap bitch. Hi-Points are for fucking "gang-bangah" rejects that can't afford anything reliable.

  • @ArbalestRaptor My buddy bought it to see if they were really that bad and if one could be trusted. We got our answer.

  • Eeeeeeshhh...I always knew they werent the best, but damn

  • @80spodcastchannel Ya I never expected this.

  • I know you're going to get a ton of bs comments saying it's your fault for making the gun jam, lol. Good video.

  • @esh325 Haha I sure did.

  • maybe its the operator. no way a hipoint would ever think of failing lol

  • @gunterm2009 Lol not a hi point. Not ever.

  • Boys let me just put this to bed right now. I'm very familiar with mansfield ohio. like 14 years worth. I know the caliber of people that live there and abouts and quality craftsmanship is not one of their staples of life. Have you heard the term Nig$@ rig?

Well that was started in masflield too, so obviously the failure was the result of poor Nig$#$ rigging , but it you send it back they will replace it im pretty sure. They're stupid and nice and honest. lots of good too...

  • @Bingstock Its on its way.
