  • i dont know Max (im still trying to see how reaktor works, hehe), but i guess there is a way of creating a controller right? so u could assigned to a midi pedal and control whatever parameter u wanted...

  • he looked really scared at 6:03

  • seems like a cool patch, but you're not really explaining anything & the link is just some text code... nice video, but is kind of unhelpful for beginners... if you explained the setup like you did for the basic stutter effect, it would be perfect...

  • say to your friend that i love his beard :)... cool Effect bro!

  • zoom h4n!

  • its funny, i tried redoing the patch, just by looking at yours, but mine reacts a bit differently. very aggressive and with heavy pitches and ramps. anyways, any idea how to get rid of clicking from my output?

  • Hi Joel. I hooked up my own copy of your patch and I really like it. The feedback is delicious.

  • Hey man great job on this patch! I am going to include this design into some of my future effects for sure!

  • Is there any complete version of the patch mate?

  • so how do u put it on a pedal or something ? :/ sorry if the question sounds ignorant, I'm not too familiar with this sort of thing.

  • @hollowharmony1

IK StealthPedal would be one way.

    Maybe KMI SoftStep?

  • I try to copy what you did but it didn't work, sounds like a space echo mine. I connected something wrong. i guess. could you help me? or did you upload the patch somewhere?

  • For some reason I can get the level meters to bounce but I'm not hearing any sound at all. Don't have this problem with your "beginner's" version of this patch. DSP status seems to all be in order.

  • WOW, this is utterly fantastic. I love this. Sorry if I seem overly enthusiastic, I just found out about this software a few minutes ago when I stumbled across their website. Perfect for what I want to do with my music. I love creative stuff like this software. You did a great job with this. Your videos seem very informative and helpful in a non-demeaning way, and that's wonderful. Keep up the good work!

  • nice

  • Love the tutorial and the patch. Would you be able to provide the guitar setup in the video? What is the guitar signal running through exactly?

  • @lingerlonger82 its just guitar into motu 828 through the patch into my friend's very nice vintage amp. All of the distortion is what the amp is doing. Any soundcard with a preamp would be more or less fine.

  • @JoelisRich Hey man! The patch sound amazing. Congrats! I've read all the comments and some people (myself included) are having trouble understanding the connections inside all of this madness. Where do I plugin my guitar? - is it guitar-preamp-computer? And after that how do I get it out into the amp? How do I connect a footswitch to the patch? Im sorry for any inconvenience but I'm pretty new and dumb with all this stuff I would much appreciate your help!

  • Also, you might consider turning off the input to tapin while the feedback is up. Then you can set the feedback to 1 and it will loop indefinitely. (!-~ going into *~ for this) Alternatively... you could use selector~ to bypass the output of tapout~ and use the "freeze 1" message to freeze the output of tapin~. Note that you have to fix the loop time to tapin's duration, however, hence the selector~.

  • If you're interested...

Replace the random / select / ggate code with itable, width n. The height of the values in the itable sets their probability, so you can have weighting. (you just need to bang the itable)

Similarly, the button / float combos can be replaced with coll. Also, check out the translate object for doing bpm conversion. You can send it note values (e.g. 16n = sixteenth notes) and it will update to the current time value of the tempo. (!)

  • i downloaded the patch, and i see the level meters moving up and down, but theres no sound coming out. I tried connecting into headphones, then into my amp, and then the internal speakers. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Thanks for making this , really fun to use.

  • hi again, could i be really cheeky and ask if you could possibly do a tutorial on windowing specficically on a stutter object cos im having difficulty with clipping on my stutter thingy.

    cheers

    PS great tutorials!!

  • Thanks for posting this - these tutorials have a lot of useful tips in. (just to double check, you know there's a [stutter~] object, right? - not staying it's better, just checking)

  • @4lefts Yes I know about it ;) I just prefer this method. I do a few groove~ tutorials that kind of illustrate why I like it so much.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Real nice job explaining everything. I'm a life long musician who has some programming background, so reverse engineering bigger projects is definitely the best route for me to get a good grip on Max. Can't wait to build this. Thanks!!!

  • @JoelisRich awesome.

  • hello, thank you alot for this, but is there any chance you can send me the file? the url in the drop down menu doesn't appear to work!

  • @Mikestingray URL fixed... I'm an idiot and tend to put extra letters in file names apparently.

  • @JoelisRich good man, thank you very much :)

  • Yes! Yes! YES! Thanks so much Joel!

  • @experimentaldog No problem! :D

I should be done the final version soon... Should be able to have it up for download within a week.

  • nice patch!
