  • John's vocals with footage of Paul singing...

  • This is great, but I think The Mamas & The Papas out-did them on this one

  • One of the great underrated Beatles songs. I love John's vocals on this one. Great track.

  • I love that little 'ow' John does before the instrumental......WOW!

  • This song sounds remarkably similar to You Can't Do That

  • :)

  • What version is this? BBC? Anthology? I know it's not the regular version.

  • @MrMattnethan it's the stereo version on the 2009 past masters remasted disc 1

  • @0603000334 thanks

  • couldnt you just listen to them all day long' the music never dates.THANKS FOR POSTING SAVES ME GETTING MY VINYL OUT DAVE

  • Paul!

  • John Lennon used some great 7th chords throughout this one.

  • Thanks for posting this!!!! I remember all the words, though I haven't heard it in years!

  • I call there names, I never get an answer. No answer, No concert, For me the 11 year old. :(

  • Beatles Foever

  • I can only play this on lead guitar, but George guitar part is beast! Love George! I'll be as good as you someday!

  • Man it's sounds very awesome on headphones...

  • headphones, & rockin !!!!!

  • The Beatles were the undisputed rulers of Mersy Beat (1962-1965). My favourite story was when Lennon-McCartney were at a party, BS'ing how easy it was to write hit singles, dashed off into a corner and wrote 'I want to be your Man' in 15 minutes and then gave them the complete song sneering "Here's yer next number one, Lads!!!" Mick and Keith just stared in silence at each other!!!

  • Love the Beatles! Love this song! Wish there had been more harmony. But good none the less!

  • Why the hell does AnnaChristine keep commenting? AND WHY ARE THEY REMOVED? WHAT DID SHE SAY? O.O

  • which album is this song from? or which year was it released in?

  • <3

^ Thats All I Have To Say

  • WHAT DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK OF THAT GLOWING HAZE AROUND THAT PERSON IN THE AUDIENCE AT 0:42...ITS ALMOST UNDER JOHNS IMAGE TO THE RIGHT, REALLY HARD TO MISS..

  • @jillzi7 thats from the free as a bird music video...so he isnt actually "glowing"

  • @jetjdsimon ................thank you..lol

  • Why the Fuck they keep showing Paul when it's Lennon on lead?

  • Middle 8 is ska, pretty good too with those changes

  • @PortieBhoy There's wasn't too much ska happened outside the West Indies in 1963.

  • @Studmasterify

Well actually, London is where all the West Indian artistes made their real money in the early 1960's and young white English kids were exposed to ska and later rocksteady through the West Indians that lived in their neighbourhoods. My Boy Lollipop was recorded in England not Kingston for example. The BEatles' ears were open to a lot of things weren't they?

  • @Narasan11 they did an ok version

  • Good amount of cowbell

  • What US album was I call your name on?

  • @tommigs The Beatles' Second Album

  • @tommigs this song is on the long tall sally EP

  • i ♥ Paul, the music-man

  • I was trying to read Paul's lips to guess what he was singing. I was right!

  • This version is the rare version of this tune..the "cowbell" starts at :13...in most versions it starts at :08

  • I call your name. Beatles... The Mamas and Papas... Good.

  • MOAR COWBELL

  • 4 people didnt get their name called

  • @Srooney13 make it 5 lol

  • Wow, really nice sound quality. Did you use something special here? Sorry, I don't even know how to put a video clip on Youtube, but I sure enjoy all the cool stuff to see and hear....(Yes, I am over 50...)

  • this song, long tall sally, and I'm happy just to dance with you, were all recorded in one three hour session at abby road on march 1 1964,my birthday! the only songs they ever recorded that date so their special to me. john sings lead on one, paul on one,and george on one. pretty cool I'd say.

  • About 57,000 of the views are from me.

Everytime I watch this I get sad.Not the song--I love it ! --But the video clips, they are having SO much fun, especially John and George singing back-up,and now they're gone...but they will live in my heart forever.

  • There is no known live Beatles version of this song on YouTube. However, the live vocal by by Billy J. Kramer is pretty good.

  • @utubemusiccritic yea they are alot of beatle songs that never were live

  • what a great lyrics .u dont find lyrics like these nowadays

  • i am creeped out by this really tall guy at school who looks a lot like john lennon....lol love the Beatles!!!!

  • who made this video??? hey!! stupid people.... lennon is singin and we are watching paul...! dios mio !!!

  • @mrdublicity

i think the most know it. i talk about the picture you can see in the video

  • @mrdublicity soooooo ? WE ALL KNOW ITS LENNON. Paul is singing but in the clip DIOS MIO!

  • @canadair21

Yep, can't disagree with you on either count.

  • cannot figure out which album is this song from. or is it a single? i'm sure i heard this before a million times, but can not find it anywhere

  • @Gnomitolindo It was originally on a 4 song EP ;" Long Tall Sally" in the UK. In the US it was on "The Beatles Second Album." Now you can get it on "Past Masters Vol. One."

  • @pastafazool56 past masters, that's it! thank you a lot

  • I got a fever, and the only prescription...is MORE COWBELL!

  • i love the beatles !! ive only just listened to this song and i already love it !! :)

  • Awe now I need to watch the I'm Down scene from Shea Stadium!

  • haha i read on youtube this had a ska beat. er not quite. still, so's i dont get loadsa thumbs down, the beatles are basically the best band thats ever existed, they were the end of one era and the beginning of another

  • @louiecostello

If you listen, the middle bars behind the instrumental solo in fact DO have a ska beat which switches back as the instrumental ends. Obladi Oblada, and part of their novelty record You know my name, look up the number also are ska-ish.

  • I know this is just clips but Paul's little dance in the beginning fits the song perfctly =) nice job and thank you for posting =)

  • @beatleswithanA1 i see what you mean it does fit in !! :D

i love Paul McCartney !! and John George and Ringo(Richard) !!

  • <3 them sooooooo much. thank you for posting

  • Oh i can't sleep at night, since you been gone, I never weep at night. I can't go on. Don't you know I can't take it? I don't know who can. I'm not gonna make it, I'm not that kind of maaaan :)

ahhh, i love the beatles! :D

  • I see what you mean anna c, but I still love the song. :)

  • It's a good song. I've read it was published on a E.P. and that was the own production (of John, I guess from the solo). However in my opinion it could have been on "A Hard Days..." or on "The B. For Sale" (I know less this album), it deserves.

  • Cool video!

  • Funny Anna Christine!!! I got ya.

  • @ImAnnaChristine i have tasted my own medicine, it tastes bad. even when its most called for, calling someone a dumb slut is pretty nasty.

  • @ImAnnaChristine although your liking of the lightening seeds...

  • @robertruizjr100 i wish to see what the original post was. stating or complaining about the obvious i suppose.. ha

  • @ImAnnaChristine lmao you clearly don't know too much about the Beatles

  • @ImAnnaChristine wtf, are you stupid or what?

  • Comment removed

  • @ImAnnaChristine

I don't know if you have any brains, but it are just a couple clips put together. So there's not any lip synching. The song just doesn't belong to the parts of the video.

  • Comment removed

  • @ImAnnaChristine You are as dumb as her too.

  • Comment removed

  • @ImAnnaChristine On 0:24 you can even see john "hoe down". Beatles where innovators even on that.
