  • WTF..

    nice Detonation ^^

  • I sure hope you aren't standing near where you have the camera, lol

  • Very effective hand grenade for only 200grams.

  • what, The,Heck

  • Very nice; clearly a full detonation judging by the power and relatively low amount of smoke. Is this the charge that was heard 8 miles away?

  • @HDRCX550VE Nope, but this charge was basically identical to the one that was heard 8 miles away.

  • Do you make your Ammonium Nitrate?

  • @MrAustralianPyro No, it's purchased in a very impure state and purified by filtration and recrystallization.

  • @CanadianPyro1 Do you mean as N-P-K fertilizer, if so hvat number ?

  • @MrBaadpyro 34-0-0 or 33-0-0

  • @CanadianPyro1 Ohh nice, where did you get that ?

  • Good job. Greenpeace won’t be happy.

How often do you use HMTD in your blasting caps?

  • @ExothermicVideos I use HMTD in nearly every blasting cap, as it is a phenomenal initiator. The sensitivity to stimuli is relatively high, though manageable with the proper safety equipment.

  • @CanadianPyro1 Okay, I was just wondering. Yeah, HMTD is a pretty brisant initiator. As I recall .27g dead pressed is capable of detonating TNT. Too bad it’s so sensitive. What proper safety equipment do you have?

  • @ExothermicVideos A hands free cap pressing jig equipped with a blast shield, gloves, ear defenders and shatter resistant safety goggles.

  • @CanadianPyro1 Wow, so you’re really equipped.

So did you make the press or was it bought of the net?

Also do you use drinking straws as your casings?

  • @ExothermicVideos The press is homemade, and constructed from soft wood to minimize the chance of a fragment penetrating the blast shield in the event of an explosion.

I typically use drinking straws as casings, as they are relatively consistent in diameter, and HMTD tends to react badly with most metals.

  • @CanadianPyro1 Very nice man...

Do you look forward to making a career out of your hobby?

  • @ExothermicVideos Well, I'm currently studying engineering at University, and I'm hoping to one day work in the energetics industry, so yes. It's a rather steep hill to climb to do this stuff professionally, but it is my goal.

  • @CanadianPyro1 Alright, good luck with that man.

I recently signed my life away to the U.S.M.C. and I aspire to be in E.O.D.

  • What % is the nitromethane? its nearly impossible to find pure stuff

  • @williepie It's 99.5% pure, and 'nearly impossible' is not equivalent to impossible. ;)

  • @CanadianPyro1 i can only find r/c car nitromethane that is like 40% where do you obtain such pure stuff? is there a method of concentrating it?

  • @williepie Check your message Inbox.

  • @CanadianPyro1 can you also send me that message about obtaining nitromethane too

  • Give me a break; don't appologize to a damn tree hugger for a nice detonation, as long as you were safe.

  • @unclefesterscrew1 hahahaha, no get it off of unitednuclear

  • Tremendous.

  • you killed the the trees :(

nahh very nice thumbs up from me

  • very nice

  • Going straight to my favs! The way your heading, I would start looking into a highspeed camera!

  • VERY GOOD!! once again! I want to see some uranium chips, with magnesium flash powder mixed with ammonium nitrate, and nitromethane!! I'd say:

     55% AN

    20% NM

    25% uranium/magnesium flash powder!!

  • very powerfull , with 23% NM , good :) (explosion)

  • Damn bro .. that was awesome

  • !!!!!

  • holy shit!!!

  • OMG! i was not expecting that! that was AMAZING!!!
