  • Still awesome and full of heart 5 months on!

  • This is an example why classes are not necessary to play the music you love. The passion and love for the music combined with the brain's beautiful ability to adapt and replay it is just fantastic. To me this is far more impressive that run of the mill piano playing showcase, as this is what people really wanna feel when they play.

  • @Skyshattered your comment means a lot to me, thank you. That is exactly how I feel.

  • @shredaholic86 Thanks for sharing man, glad to know I'm not alone in my thoughts :p

  • I'm impressed with the Yamaha Portable Grand keyboards! The Adult Day Healthcare program I attend 3x a week, has a Yamaha DXG-520, which the Music Therapist, Helen, a Russian lady plays so beautifully!

This is what helped to motivate me to want to purchase a Yamaha YPG-535, myself

  • You're doing great for a beginner! I'm going to be purchasing a Yamaha YPG-535,myself,possibly this week or next, as I want to learn to play piano, besides that, it will be.good therapy for my right hand, since I had a mild stroke over a year ago.

My girlfriend, Martha, is helping get the YPG-535, she's psyched about it, also,She wants to learn to play, as well.

  • do i have to buy a special kinda stand for this keyboard

  • you may have been a beginner when you did this, but you were born with perfect music abilities. i'm a lucky gal to have you <3

  • a ypg 535 yahmaha .... what i always wanted....

  • You have a really good rhythm for a complete beginner, do you play another instrument?

  • yes, ive played drums since i was in 6th grade, so I guess that helped, I also play the guitar and bass

  • CONGRats i practiced a lot to learn it too is grat song

  • You've already done well! nice cover =)

  • yes you can teach yourself how to read music. i played by ear for 5 years then learned

  • is there a function button on the piano? I'm wanting to buy one of these... would you recommend it? great playing btw =)

  • im pretty sure there is. i would deff recommend this piano, im only a beginner, and it feels beautiful, and has a lot of great sounds to choose from. i do a lot of the recordings you hear on my page with it, so sample em and see if you like the sounds. and thanks

  • k thanks man =) I actually just bought a dgx 530, and the sound is very beautiful =) does your piano have 500 voices? thanks

  • @MobyMB24 YES its a great buy esspecialy off amazon, I was a begginer and this piano motivated me to get where I am today! Its like you cant walk into the same room as it without wanting to mess around on it for alittle. If you want to get more intake on this check out some of my videos (rate and comment too lol).

  • I love listening to final fantasy songs on piano :) I don't know how it's supposed to sound, but if you hadn't said you played it by ear, I wouldn't have know. Beautiful, I hope I can play as well as you when I get my keyboard. I'm thinking of getting that keyboard, and the description say it comes with a stand but it doesn't say if it comes with a music stand or keyboard stand. Would you mind telling me if yours came with either of those? Thanks a bunch :)

  • it comes with both. you get both the legs for it, and the music stand. its really a nice piano

  • Is it on live, grand, sweet, or electronic piano???

  • Grand

  • Well Done! You've got a lot of natural talent. Some of the greatest pianists are self taught non readers. Check out Erroll Gardner.

  • playing by ear is essential to helping your piano skills overall

it can help you identify how each key sounds like, and get a better feel for the piano

also. alot of people who play by war actually do make some songs sound better in my opnion

  • are the keys weighted?

  • newp, touch sensitive though

  • can you take that function off and on?

  • not that im aware of, im pretty sure its set

  • nice piano.

  • You did a fine job playing that piece. However, to a musician not being able to read sheet music is like not able to read a book. In a sense, being an illiterate. So, now that you know you have a gift, get educated.

  • im currently trying to teach myself how to read music. i appreciate the encouragement.

  • u cant teach yourself how to read music, only play by ear.. u should look online for piano lessons free

  • There's absolutely nothing wrong with playing music by ear. Some would argue that music sounds better when played that way - instead of looking at a sheet of music just plucking away. Music should be felt inside of you - and then it manifests itself outwardly. There are many sucessful musicians that play by ear.

  • You are completely missing the point. Just because you can read doesn't mean you can't create. When you can read, hopefully you can write; and when you can write, you can pass on written history instead of oral history.

  • Really nice man. Especially if you're a beginner. I thought it was great.

  • I wan't that piano.

  • Such nice comments from everyone, thank you all for watching, it encourages me to put more videos up! Thanks!

  • nice!~ :]

  • You didn't "butcher" this song at all... It was beautiful.

  • can youu please tell me the keys/chords? :)

  • great job for someone who just started learning the piano

  • what nice 600 dollar toy lol. im selling mine today for a weighted dgx620. i dont like the unweighted keys. they r good for u cuz u play the kind of stuf that doesnt require fast paced accuracy but when u r going really fast its easy to fuck up on unweighted keyboards. weighted keyboards are WAY easier to play more accuratly (while not as quickly, but that takes some skill).

  • its 499 at guitar center.

  • For someone who can professedly "barely even play piano", you do pretty well. Have fun with the new toy!
