I really enjoy your videos. Its always great to see that REAL rock music is still alive with the younger generation. One question, who is your favorite new artist or band to hit the scene within the last 5 to 10 years?
Agh, always a tough one since I just gravitate towards the good ol' days like a nail to a nostalgia magnet - but a standout for me of recent years is Søren Andersen. Awfully good guitarist. (And I'm sort of cheating with that answer since he plays with the likes of Glenn Hughes and Mike Tramp, going back to my comfort zone that is the past. XD)
@Trookieness Thanks for sticking Søren Andersen on my radar. I had never heard of him before. After checking out some videos, you can be sure I'll have him in heavy rotation now!
cool new video Trookie ... i was surely more interessed to see this one than some others... as UFO is one of my very favourite bands... i just made a break with them since half a year now... my head was stuck in their universe for the last 3 years...i do not even made a break with one of their precious 74-83 album... "Force it" was where my passion for them started in 2004 ... great band... and you made a good job here ;-)
Good job as usual Becky. Force It has one of the oddest album covers. All of the faucets are some kind of pun I guess. Even though it was recorded first Out in the Street is overshadowed by the classic Springsteen song of the same name. Ironically Schenker is playing at Springsteens hometown club the Stone Pony in Asbury Park New Jersey next month. Schenker is a fantastic guitarist.
@Trookieness The pun makes sense in the British version of English but isn't so apparent in the American version, You Brits call faucets taps. Im looking at the cover and wondering what the deal with all the faucets is. ha ha
Many of your fellow countrymen seem to like him based on this video:
youtube.com/watch?v=-qZbyLsiHzY
If you get a chance post your Schenker video when you return from the show.
The album's called Force It, which is a homophone for faucet. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO KNOW? XD I remember that the original cover was edited for the American market because the amorous couple amongst the taps were too saucy for you lot in the 70s, hahaha.
Great video becky :), I have to get some UFO albums, Michael Schenker is a god and I would love to hear his work with UFO, which albums would you highly suggest listening to?
I'd recommend anything from his first run with UFO, really. So that's Phenomenon, Force It, No Heavy Petting, Lights Out, Obsession and Strangers In The Night.
Ooh, some UFO! Wish I could see them, I was planning to a couple months ago, but my damned driving lessons have to be paid for as well! XD You sang great as always, Beck! :)
Hey Becky! Great to see you doing some UFO nice one :) ...Strange you should do a video today as i dreamt last i was listening to the Journey song Positive Touch and there was this weird lyric i couldn't decipher so i thought i know, i'll ask Becky!! Hahaha i must stop eating munchies just before bed! XD
Greetings and salutations, Nigel! Haha, I'm everywhere, aren't I? As flattered as I am that I'd be the Journey lyric guru, I'm sure Google could come to the rescue there. :P
@Trookieness Oops meant *last night* :D....Yes you are getting about a bit Becky but i didn't know that dream invasion/astral travel was one of your powers!!! Hehe...Yes Google has eased my worried mind (Zep III analogy lol) and solved my Journey lyric conundrum!! XD
@Trookieness Haha glad you do! XD...Thats interesting III is your fave Zep album none of my other mates into them rate that as their favourite. The forth is mine simply because it was the first one i heard of theirs and it changed my life. I love all their music though...Hehe yes! Could we now live without Google?? Methinks not! :D
@Trookieness Indeed :D My most prized music-related possession is an original vinyl first edition pressing of Zep III with the Jimmy Page writing "Do what thou wilt" and "So mote it be" on the run-offs which i inherited from my brother. Too bad its not in good nic i think i would be worth quite a lot otherwise.
It's still probably worth a few quid because of the inscription! The most valuable stuff in my collection is stuff I've had signed, haha. If my collection isn't especially valuable, I have to make it valuable by batting my eyelashes to musicians while holding out a marker. XD
@Trookieness Haha good plan! :D I'm sure you're collection is worth quite a bit especially if you add all the signed items up. Although i suspect you'd rather have the items than the cash!! XD

Hipgnosis were all about puns. Forceful sex + taps... rest is history. XD
I never cared for Springsteen.... his voice gets on my nerves to an insane degree.
Schenker is awfully good. I'm seeing him in May, should be a good night. :)

Lights Out is a great album, though. First UFO album I bought on vinyl. Great job on the songs, as usual! Wouldn't expect anything less from you. :)

Likewise. It'll always be my favourite, I always sigh nostalgically at "Love To Love". XD And cheers, glad you liked it!

I had to cave in and buy a ticket to see them. XD Especially since the venue is one of those places where you can put your hands on the stage, haha.

I try to use my powers wisely! XD
Nice use of Zep III, it's (perhaps controversially) my fave album of theirs!.... Tied with II. Curse their glorious back catalogue!
Ah, good old Google. Solving the problems that would ordinarily keep us awake at night!

I know, it's an underrated gem I feel. XD
II was the first one I heard all the way through, so that's a sentimental fave..... can't go wrong with Heartbreaker and Bring It On Home.
