Kay, let's play some facts into here to break down this obsession with opinions and insults.

In-game: The Horde leaders vs the Alliance leaders would be a complete joke. Most of the Alliance leaders have terribly low damage compared to the Horde leaders, which is all that matters.

Lore: This one's hard. Lore can't tell us much about the leaders, except that Thrall is likely the strongest of them all. if you want to argue Alliance power in lore, you need to look to Tyrande.

I do not think that the elements would help him that much, even Mr Garrosh kicked his ass, and Varian is atleast as good of a warrior as Garrosh is if not better. if you read varian's background story he was captured and used in arenas he won all of his matches against ORCS and other competitors
