hey umm you should do true dual with glass packs man they sound awsome my dad has it on his 5.3 and the dam thing sounds awsome. now im trying to convince him to take the flowmaster 40,s of and put glass packs on his big block chevy! :)
I wonder why they didn't put a dual exhaust from the factory on the 1500 Denali line. Even my girlfriends sunfire 4 banger came with a dual from the factory.
my grandpa lent me his denali a few months ago to go to prom with my girl, and as soon as i turned it on, i couldn't help but rev up the engine, i just had to!!! =)
@1Adrenoline1 Oh yes gotta love Government Motors. And them using cheap Mexican parts in these, and some units being built in Mexico, what a shame. GM and Chrysler is really lacking quality control. I've seen what these things are, problem after problem, My friend had to replace his tranny at 71k and a head gasket issue at 67k. Plus the junk gears in the whole diff broke and needed to be replaced. NEVER AGAIN, will I buy GM have '06 and 08' with too many issues. My 94 Toyota 4RUNNER has 335k
@Zinizzle you never hear the full story. Im sure you're going to drop a tranny when you do 7000rpm neutral drop in front of your friends house trying to show off.
Can someone tell me what is so special about the Denali? I dont really get whats so different about them other than the 6.2l. Im not hating on Chevy, its just a question, Im a Chevy truck driver myself, and love my truck.
@22zmynumber 1) AWD 2) EVERYTHING Standard (nav, awd, ent system are the only options) 3) sex appeal 4) silverado next to a denali looks like a gto next to a vette.
@chevelle454ss1 They're both straight-through and free flowing mufflers, so you'll pretty much get the same performance results with either one. Although on a stock motor I wouldn't expect a big HP increase. Definitely louder though. :)
@chevelle454ss1 When it comes to air flow on a car, you get the most performance when you do other things to it. For example: You'll get some performance from a Magnaflow exhaust system with nothing else, but you'll get more from the exhaust if you compliment it with headers, cold air intake, throttle body, etc. The more you add, the more performance you'll get out of each item
@dustybubble Never been super impressed with the Toyota's. But I'm also a GM guy, so I'm probably a bit bias. :) If you go with a GM, make sure you drive the 6.2 as well before making the decision go with the the 5.3. Both great engines, but if you have a need for HP and don't mind a slight drop in MPG, it's worth considering.
@dustybubble its a little late but the tundra isnt built that great, you cant put a heavy load on the tailgate or it will bend and if you hit rough terrain the bed has been known to beat the shit out of the back of the cab. had way too much body wobble. excellent engine though, also id be afraid of toyotas inferior underbody coating and corrosion inhibitor. either way you cant go wrong with either a silverado or a sierra, wouldnt go smaller than 5.3 but if you want a nicer truck go with gmc.
@adogg619 Tundra is a good truck, one of the best engine/transmission in the class. Not to mention it is actually the most "America" content wise one can buy now. I hate when people hate on the Tundra, it really is a good truck. If your going to hate, hate on the Nissan.
Wow I didn't realize how great sounding the stock exhuast is on the L92's. Have you put on the dual exhaust yet? If not, I would recommend doing true duals with 2 1/2" pipe and an x pipe as close to the front as you can. You will pick up mpg's doing that. My 6.0 gets 24-27 on hwy and 17-19 city.
@ledbetterbrothers Not yet. Haven't decided what I want to do yet and I've also been hesitant to change the nice sound of the stock exhaust. It's really perfect for my needs. I'm thinking dual tips might get it done. We'll see. I'll probably post updated clips when I do.
@hcs4life21 Yes, as with most custom tunes, it is quite different. Much imroved drivability and performance. You might even see a slight mpg increase. If you keep your foot out of the throttle that is.

I have a 2005 GMC full 4 door 4x4 with a 5.2,I really love driving my truck and yes it does kill gas but only on short range, when I park it I ussually go rear first so when I get out I dont have to look for litle cars. But I really love it on long distances, when I go to LAS VEGAS I use 2 full tanks and I dont think is that bad.
test drove the 6.2 gmc sierra yesterday. all i can say its the best stock exhaust sound i have ever heard. sounded like it had a flowmaster on it. 6.2 all the way
Has GM fixed the massive turn radius on these vehicles, I have a 01 ext and its terrible, always hate parking and also do you have drum brakes? I know the Silverados have still. Also just wondering but wouldn't a Duramax diesel give you the same performance with alot better fuel economy and last longer?
@watso64 The turning radius is still rather large, even for a full-size truck. So it could be better. The SD has rear disc brakes, but some still use drums. And there is no diesel option for the 1/2 ton GM trucks. But the 403hp 6.2l V8 works for me. :)
@omegafiler yes cummins says there 6.2 is 350hp, well i say fuck you cummins because the 5.2 from GMC runs atleast 402hp stock, i've seen on with 489hp stock
@watso64 I have an 05 crew-cab 2wd and parking in city parking garages is almost impossible at times... Sometimes I feel like i just don't fit... i get about 15-16 mixed driving and to me thats decent, but i like the way mine drives... Mine has drum brakes rear...
@karandipsohal You mean the truck in general? For me, it's quite livable. Everything you'd expect from a full-size V8 truck. Not fun to park in cramped parking lots and mileage isn't great... but what else is new? Personally I try to avoid those areas and there are plenty of gas stations around here. :)
You can pretty much figure out range based on the 26 gal tank and 12/19 City/Hwy MPG rating. I'm usually in the 13's. I do wish it had a bigger tank like Ford and Dodge offer though.
@abram7117 Sure, EPA rates it at 12/19 city/hwy. The 6.2l is certainly not the best choice for descent mileage. Then again, neither is buying a full size truck.
@omegafiler I guess thats not to bad. I have 1 uncle who has a 350 and gets about 11 city and 15 HWY, another one who has a 5.3 and gets 13 city & 19HWY and my dad has a V6 that gets 15 city and 21 hwy. I would disagree with your last point, IMO if your looking for decent MPG, you shouldn't purchase a truck period.
@abram7117 Actually, that was my point exactly. :) Don't buy a full-size truck for personal use if mileage currently is or might be a future concern (ie. future gas prices).
I really don't care much about MPG. But I'll gladly answer any questions folks might have about it to perhaps help them make a decision.
@Tdaz250 Not planning on it. Stock exhaust on the 6.2 already sounds as good if not better than the touring did on my 6.0. And never was a huge fan of the Sport. Both great systems, but I think I'll be happy with stock exhaust if I get some shiny tips on there. :)
@Tdaz250 Honest, no, nothing planned. That's kind of why I buy 'em loaded. I don't have to go spend a ton of money later to "upgrade" things. Something I've learned in the past when modding vehicles. :)
@petorian1 Well, I've had plenty of aftermarket intakes and countless exhaust systems with previous vehicles that I don't have videos for. But this truck already has a fairly open "cold air" intake and free flowing exhaust system. Any performance gains would be very minor and not really worth the cost to me.
But if I were considering any aftermarket exhaust, it would be Corsa or nothing! My other videos speak for themselves. :)
@omegafiler yeah i got an 08 sierra myself with a 5.3 and i was suprised with how big the intake system was all i did was slap some flowmaster seires 50 and it was set.
@ffinvest knowing Ford engines in the past, a vast majority of the power will be lost through the wheels. the 6.7 diesel only puts out like 400 some FT LBs of torque when on the dyno. GM's are alot lighter than Fords as well, so gas mileage will be significantly better from the GM 6.2 and Ford 6.2. :)
love that truck.....usually radar detectors r mounted low on the windshield because police typically aim at the headlights....so it picks it up better
Thanks. There is a lot of debate regarding radar dector location. My primary reasoning is that I just hate things stuck to the windshield and out of place. Gotta have a clean look; hence the metal mount on the mirror post and hard-wire. Works very well.
Not to mention being below the mirror is high enough for long-range horizon detection and low enough so nothing is going to be in the way such as the sun visor or sun deflecting "dots" and has enough shade to avoid most direct sunlight.
Oh, well that's easy. Just push the long skinny pedal all the way to the floor and enjoy. :)
It's a stock exhaust, so the only "mod" at the time was a custom tune. While it does slightly change the exhaust note, it's not drastically different. That's just how GM tuned the exhaust on these 6.2's. Very nice.
To create the video? I just used my old Sony Mini-DV camera with an add-on bi-directional stereo microphone (90-120deg) with a wind screen. It was sitting on a tri-pod as well, just wedged between the back/front seat so it wouldn't move around. Then used MS Movie Maker to import via firewire, do some quick editting, and there you go!
You got the sound perfect. Ive got an LTZ 6.2l

oh no not that... I was wondering about your exhaust it sounds really good. I just picked a new Denali and i wanted it to sound like yours.

Very nice.

Headers, catback, intake, cam, heads, tuning... 500+ hp all motor. Easily done.

so how did you this?

To create the video? I just used my old Sony Mini-DV camera with an add-on bi-directional stereo microphone (90-120deg) with a wind screen. It was sitting on a tri-pod as well, just wedged between the back/front seat so it wouldn't move around. Then used MS Movie Maker to import via firewire, do some quick editting, and there you go!
