Thanks so much for posting...It is like a trip back in time. My favorite intro was for ABC's late night movie. I have not been able to find it ANYWHERE. If anyone knows where I can find it, please let me know. Thanks.
@findmejackmalone1 unbelievable.. you just hear that music and it's like the background for everything!!! when they'd show the James Bond films it was a special treat! LOL.. HBO and SHO need to get some cheesy openings like this and make the films seem special again!!! If only they would just pick ONE of their channels to show these horror movies on and show more films that are more than 3 years old!!!
I love this intro too! Never thought I would hear it again. Thank you for uploading. However, there is a change between the them from the early 70s, and the late 70s. Same tune, but the early 70s version had a real pathos that was heart evoking, and the late 70s version has a real upbeat sound to it. Love them BOTH!!!!!!
I like this one, but WKBD 50's late night movie was the stuff with that mellow music..."We hope you enjoyed our show..." Boy were we gullible to think that we would experience this kind of movie joy for the rest of our lives. Not! They'll be no more classics after the 80's.
the network had such great programming..new, vibrant,eye-catching...you youngsters dont have anything today except jerks from Jersey or basketball golddiggers

Of all the music themes, this is my absolute favorite one! Great nostalgic stuff here! I grew up watching ABC movies as a kid in elementary school. I definitely remember these themes for the movie introductions.
The best animated graphics of their time, alongside the 4:30 movie intro. To me, the ABC Sunday Night Movie is best remembered as either one of the first airings of "The Poseidon Adventure" or a James Bond film like "Thunderball", "You Only Live Twice" or "Diamonds are Forever".
I wish I could still tune in and watch the ABC Friday night movie. Do people really watch the reality crap that's on now, instead of some fun blockbuster (yes with commercials & edited for Television)? I guess so.
I love how G4's "Movies That Don't Suck" shamelessly stole this intro. My son, who is 18, asked me why G4 does those intros for their movies. I took him here and showed him what I saw when I was his age ... then he understood.
WOW...This intro is like an instant time machine....I'm back in my parent's basement, trying 2 stay up as late as possible, hoping mom will think we're already in bed instead of in the game room watchin TV
Probably one of the best movie intros of all time, TV was so special back then, it really reached a peak in the late 70's all threw the 80's. And congrats to you "apotheounSTK" for the great sound on your vid.
Will you see these kind of graphical images if you take LSD?

Before HBO, before Showtime. The Friday night movie was big deal. The networks would complete to see what movie they could premier that week.

Looking back, I wish I would have stayed home on Friday nights more often. Would have saved a lot of money

My God was life more satisfying! TV has gotten so ugly with all the vulgarity and sex that I miss these days and I am a liberal!

This was the time before any of us had VCRs and DVD Players, or Cable Networks.
When we missed a movie at a theatre, we would have to wait till it came to TV. This is when it would come on too !

I can only watch this in 360 or 480p, the HD option makes the video move slower and not in-sync with the audio!!

Why does the second spot only have audio on one channel?
