His reason for quitting is, he's been in the game for a long time. He's been through a few record deals and dealt with the industry drama for so long. Right now being a rapper seems passe to him and it's time to move on. Hopefully after sitting out the game for a couple years he'll miss it and change his mind. Keep in mind there's still CRS, the unofficial group he started with Pharrell and Kanye. We'll see what becomes of that.
