  • When Bobby goes into that little bridge ("Well it's tweet...in the morning") just gets me every time.

    The guy's pure genius.

  • i'll never forget seeing this as a child, i remember trying to sing this

  • thanks for this! i remember being in high school and having strep throat...i had to stay home for a week and a half...instead of watching Regis and Kathy Lee, i decided to watch Sesame Street...one day i threw in a VHS tape (dating myself here) and recorded random bits off Sesame Street...this was one of the things i recorded, and i found myself breaking it out and playing it every few months just to hear the song...GREATNESS!

  • This Was The Shit I remember This !

  • Bobby said before that his scat bit would be his only number that evening. He lied.

  • I listen this song every morinin on my bike when I cycle through the Tiergarten in springtime in Berlin, it's so great I see all the bunnys, the swans, the wild gooses

with their children, the rainbows...it's the best start in a new day to work....

I grew up with sesame street and now I'm 41 :-)))) In Germany we had the original just only few years...and than the german version, but I missed Bibo and

Oscar and the original street with all the kids from different countries.

  • mhmm

  • THIS IS A KICK ASS SONG

  • nota 10 - Brasil

  • Love 2:37

  • i came in boby mcferiins anus

  • This is an adaptation of "Sweet in the Morning" from his album "Medicine Music"... I haven't watched Sesame Street in a long time, but I certainly hope they are still doing this sort of thing... I love it.

  • this song is on one of bobby's albums...

  • bobby mcferrin is a genious..

  • Loved it back then and still love it now, and my favorite part still is when they go crazy at the end. LoL

  • Sesame Street did a great job exposing children to different kinds of music.

  • I agree 100%

  • Creative and Ingenious

  • What a sweet sound!

  • I cry everytime I watch this....... One thing I've thought about, I've watched kids shows when I had to baby sit, and I've never seen anything close to this these days, children don't have as good as we did!!!

  • never ear it before. because i'm french.

this song go straigth to my heart.

    so simple so perfect....

nowadays, kid's shows are very verry artisticaly poor.

    (sorry for my english:)

  • @GoatPepper why were you crying?

  • I have a really big heart for people who have a heart for music.....even some of the most unsad songs can make me cry in amazement....Example: I listened to all of At the Drive-In and can really hear how they evolved, now they are Mars Volta...when I heard their Cicatriz Esp track, I lost it...my veins literally crawling, my cheeks wet, Talent, Heart, simply Love! Omar and Cedric are great examples of music to me...Do some research..

  • research on who?

  • At The Drive In(albums):

    1-Acrobatic Tenament

    2-In/Casino/Out

    3-Relationship of Command.....

.you can literally hear them evolving...

  • Also, Youtube some of their live performances...they were some of the most energetic musicians ive ever seen.....My point is they didnt regurgitate...they kept getting better and better....then they broke up!

  • @GoatPepper = too true

we actually learnt things with things like this and got to see real talent!!!!!

we need more shows like this for children now!!!!!

  • @GoatPepper I FEEL FOR YOU GOAT AND I THINK I LOVE YOU

  • Awesome bird whistling background vocals

  • Unmistakable's Frank Oz voice of the Owl

  • Actually you're the one who's mistaken my friend. That's Kevin Clash who does the owl not Frank.

  • @jonnytbirdzback PWNAGE

  • "crying" for real my cold hearted aint so cold

  • Oh Wow. I started watching this and thought I don't remember this at all, and then Hoots stopped talking, McFarrin started singing, and it all came rushing back to my memory! Wow....

  • That was amazing.

  • *crying*

    This brings back lost memories

  • man i remember i wuz three mabey youngerhearing that.that is wild.kool shit

  • Thanks for posting!!!!

    These are sooooooo great!!!!

  • Would you please upload the closing sequence of episode 2255 where Hoots the Owl plays the Sesame Street theme on the tuba?

  • It amazes me the shit you can find on youtube. 25 years old and still remember watching this episode as a youngin'! Still love it!

  • I'm a big fan of Bobby Mcferrin, and I know this is on the freakin' muppet show, which I also happen to be a big fan of =P. But the sound of this song along with the whistling sounds really quite haunting, yet soothing. It sounds amazing.

  • As I kid I heard THREE in the morning and I been searching for this as long as I can remember....now I see why I never found it...TWEET (not three) in the morning!

  • Wasn't there one called SWEET in the morning? by Bobby?

  • Yes it's called SWEET in the morning...This version is TWEET in the morning but I grew up and always thought they were saying THREE in the morning...LOL!

  • "Sweet In The Morning" appears on Bobby's "Medicine Man" album, where he performed with his group Voicestra.

  • Journey back in the day, when Sesame Street was still awesome. . . . . . Mr. McFerrin as always, amazing. . .

Great vid. eh? And doesn't the Owl, sound like a fat, black version of Yoda? I love it! I bet it's Frank Oz too!

  • omg he does sound like a fat black version of Yoda!

  • I love this song Bobby rocks he is so hot and cool. I wonder what he's up to now>? All the birds are so cute especially the one with short pink hair and a long orange beak. I can't remember when it aired on TV but I always saw it on TV. Has anyone got the video when Olivia sings Birdland if anyone has it please upload it because I haven't seen that one for ages. Is the birdland club still on Sesame Street or not? I love Bobby Mcferrin and Sesame Street forever and I always will. How tweet it is

  • I think he still hangs out with Yo Yo Ma a lot. Also teaching a lot of workshops.

  • Who thinks the bird on his right shoulder looks just like Gobo Fraggle from Fraggle Rock?

  • wow i almost got a tear in my eye from that guy who said when was younger he had a tear in his eye.....but it didnt shed tho hahahha

  • I remember seeing this as a kid and was mesmerized. I ended up having a lil' tear in my eye and always wanted to see this again! Thank you so, so very much for allowing me to relive a moment that I loved so dear!!

BTW, Bobby's original track, 'Sweet In the Morning" is just as beautiful, but I like the whistling in this track so much!!

  • Ditto! Love him...

  • I totally agreem i love the original but love the whistling in this... it adds another dimension

  • I agree, I love the original... but I'm really loving the whistling in this one.

I haven't seen this since I was a little kid!!!!!!! One of the Sesame Street moments that have stuck with me all my life (25 years old now).

  • We share this memory. This is my first time seeing this SINCE I was a child...OMG! So glad I stumbled across this today!!!!!

  • I had been looking for this clip for sooooooo long. thanks, JTB!!

  • hoots was the man.

    err owl.

  • wow... i've been lookin for this song for like... years. good lookin.

  • wow how beautiful

  • OOOO This was was one of my favourite songs. adn bird and him harmonizing. and the birds man. loves this song. i could come up with a dance to that

  • What year did this come out?

  • 1991, I think.

  • oh, thanks. I remember watching this when I was 5.

  • what a beautiful song. Both versions tweet in the mornin or sweet in the mornin. BUT the bird whistling makes it even tweeter ;) Sorry! I know bad joke but I had to do it

  • i agree the whistling harmonizing with mcferrin was phenomenal. and the key they do this in seems to be slightly different than sweet in the morning. i love both though.

  • Thank you for posting this song. I have actually been looking for it for many years. I loved Birdland!

  • That got my mojo going until the birds made all that damn noise. lol

    Memories.

  • BTW... The is no smoother, no cooler muppet than Hoots. There's no cooler cat on Sesame Street. Fo sho. ^_^

  • I love the part where the birds are snoring. It's really funny!

  • I REMEMBER THIS!!! Wow, it sounds sweeter than I remembered.

  • I remember this. I love Hoots hey birds don't snore. Bobby Mcferrin rocks he has a sexy voice when he sings this song he sounds really sexy. Tweet in the morning is a fab song. Does it have the same beat as sweet in the morning? How sweet it is. Those birds that gether around Bobby are so cute. Bobby rocks he is so cool.

  • Kevin Clash.

  • Thanks for the video. I have the original song "Sweet in the Morning" on c.d. It's funny that they used this song on Sesame Street because in an interview I remember Bobby Mc saying the song is about making love in the morning. Very interesting . . .

  • Really??? Great. Now I don't feel so dirty about getting ideas after this song. Thanx for the info.

  • Yeah, the song sounds just like its supposed to. Sweet and moanin' ; )

  • germyw, Not Sweet and Moanin', Sweet In The Morning. It's on the CD Medicine Music.

kevaughn69, one shouldn't feel dirty about ideas. It's a beautiful song meant to evoke all kinds of emotion.

  • Blueshywatcher- No no no you don't understand. I KNOW its Sweet in the Morning. It was a joke. You have to read my original comment to understand. I really hate when people judge anything out of context.

What I said was that during an interview Bobby said that morning love making was the actually inspiration for the song.

Don't be so jumpy. I LOVE Bobby and have most of his albums. I have been following his work since I was a child and he was on "Real People". I know of what I speak.

  • Before I get any more crazy comments- I mean he was featured for the first time nationally on the show "Real People" starring a blonde lady, some guy and Bryon Allen. You should remember that yourself.

  • thank you so much for posting this! Tweet in the mornin. hah.
