  • man whered you get the Amigo FM component

  • @mountain177 See my video "CRL Amigo FM analog audio processor".

  • Man I'd love to have that rig!

  • Like the HD Radio too!

  • Does that also have an RDS Encoder! :D PS LOVE THE SONG!

  • add a 100 watt power amp and go Pirate! I'm sure you'll play better stuff than the commercial stations do.. FYI, the worst that could happen is you get a certified letter telling you to stop..

  • what was the third song in the vid.

  • @mountain177 Look at 1:45 in the video, where I show the CD cover listing all the songs.

  • where did you get the MI AMIGO piece on top of the big radio

  • what was the first song in the video

  • @mountain177 That question was already answered by wilkes85: "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" by The Hollies.

  • Good old british electronics....hard to come by made in england products now....However they didn't have the same problem as BL did...hmmm

  • The Amigo sounds so clean and open.

  • How far is the range on that? Would you get busted by the FCC for using it?

  • that amigo fm thing has a quite big transformer

  • That sounds pretty damn good! :) JC

  • I have one of these, but it's an older one in the rack at 5 watts - I have to brag about it.. :) I'm using a software multiband processor (4 band+AGC+limiter) and I think it's the best sound, the transmitter altogether, best I ever had with stereo FM. I want to do the whole software stereo gen/RDS too, with something like Stereotool, or if anyone knows anything better.. The more I see your videos, the more we think alike, at least as far as radio goes.. :) Boomer

  • @boomermutt The best software audio processor available now is Breakaway Broadcast. If you have a 192 kHz sound card it will even generate MPX and RDS.

  • @vwestlife I didn't know about Breakaway, I tried Stereotool, and I'm using MBL4 with stereo out to the transmitter, just something simple with the computers I had laying around. MBL4 is old software, but it's lightweight. I'm not a big loudness fan to begin with: consistency. The sound is still so clean compared to anything I used before, and I think that any improvement would be small incremental at this point. Funny about the Todd Rundgren, I was just listening to that earlier in the day.

  • @boomermutt Look my videos about "Sonos Limit" if you want an even simpler and smoother sounding version of the MBL architecture -- at least with my custom preset, as the presets that come with it are way too aggressive.

  • @vwestlife That's one thing about the MBL I like, fewer bands, easy to set each section to what I want. Plus it has AM, which I use as well. I know, aggression, I find the same thing with Sound Solution's presets too, and I found that hard to adjust, never got that one right, at least the MBL sounds flat and smooth, gate is smoother too. I might have Sonos Limit, I'll give it a try. I'll have to make a video to show you my stuff, and post some other radio vids but right now nothing is hooked up.

  • That's awesome dude. Where'd you find it?

  • @barret46922 I ordered it from BW Broadcast in England.

  • be really careful what kind of antenna you use with that thing! One watt can transmit a LOT farther than is allowed for unlicensed low power FM, you don't want to get the big bad FCC angry.

  • @grassulo I'm in a rural area and I make sure to choose an empty channel with no possibility of interference to other stations, plus most of my transmitting is only for brief tests and experiments, so I've never had any trouble because of it.

  • Super nice transmitter! I wish i could find one like that.

  • That's pretty cool.

What kind of range does that thing have?

It's also amasing you were able to play that many WMG songs and not even get an ad plastered all over the video lol, I tried to upload a few of those and it got blocked worldwide.

  • @wilkes85 The range can be up to several miles with a good antenna. The transmitter is not FCC Part 15 approved, but I'm always careful to choose an empty frequency and to not interfere with any other stations on the band. Also YouTube gives you a de facto "fair use" of up to 30 seconds of any song you want, before triggering the Content ID system.

  • What was the name of the first song you played?

  • @ACDCPSP 'Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress' by The Hollies.

  • so what does the board with the blue light do?

  • @linuxlove4004 That's the BW Broadcast transmitter.

  • what brand/model is it on the handheld radio/(mp3player?) you have there? :)

  • @sk7ca It's an Insignia NS-HD01, sold by "Best Buy" stores in the USA.

  • Sounds quite good. How much did it cost ?

  • nice
