Syma S107-G RC helicopter overview & flight

Just got this...yeah, best purchase so far!

Only mod I did was to unhook the spring from the left stick (up/down control) so I wouldn't have to constantly fight the stick to keep it level and only need to nudge it a bit to make minor height adjustments (did this with my Twin Vortex as well).

Hello thank you for the video. I have bought this exact same RC copter. I can't seem to get mine to fly nearly as stable as in this video. Other than truing the L/R spinning using the dial, is there any other tips to get this thing fly stable?

My S107G lasted about a month then the whirli bird wouldn't lift more than a foot off the floor, even after a full charge. I went out and purchased a new battery installed it myself and it did the same thing after a month. this is a big rip off don't waste your money.

@DonBow111 I've had 4 so far and I have never had that problem the fact that when you changed the battery and it flew fine for a month and then you've had the same problem again means that the helicopter is just fine..I guess you were treating the battery carelessly .1st you can't leave the battery uncharged for more than a week...charge it again.. and then leave it uncharged again for ..another week.. second..u must leave the battery to cool down for about 15 minutes to charge again.

FRY'S ELECTRONICS sells this same helicopter under the SWAN brand name as the MICRO LIGHTNING for $40 out the door (plus tax of course). Even the controller is identical. I agree that it's the best flying 3-channel gyro helicopter I have ever owned, and I have nearly a dozen. I plan on getting another as a spare.

A friend of mine has this one and i've flown it a few times. It flies Great! It flies better than my Air Hogs pocket copter, though, it doesn't fly bad either...just taking off, it will do like the guy in the video said, go to the left, right, or forwards sometimes, instead of straight up into the air.

@Nintend0Brawler Hey hopefully I got to you on time.. The gears must have come loose just a little. Make sure the gears are placed correctly. It will stop the noise.

@ Morrgore: From what I have seen there are many companies that sell the same type of heli with different remotes. I have a WL Toys S929 and a friend of mine was able to control his Griffin iPhone controlled heli with my remote by switching channels. Hope that helps.

I have this as an appcopter and an iPhone app controller, its very hard to FEEL where the controls are while you're watching the helicopter only using a touch screen. Can I buy a controller separately? Great video BTW

I have two 107g (yellow and blue) and the s108 and the s026g chinook. all awesome little birds and great for indoor combat. Get some friends together and try to knock each other down by getting over them and prop washing them out of the sky. LOL

most take much longer to charge then to discharge. its the nature of all batteries. its got metal on it. that's a plus. anything that flies are weight restrictive. attaching anything more then a couple ounces will make it drop like a stone. most are only rated for indoors since any draft will send it crashing. even real helicopters have problems with wind and jet blast.

Unlike all other coaxial mini helicoptors, the author is exactly correct, the Syma 107G is without a doubt the best. Rock solid hovering and an extreamey accurate flying experience.

@bwemellebwanl The s107 only has flybar stabilization, meaning that if you stop turning it, it will drift a bit to that direction until the rotors stop

The s107-G has an electronic built in Gyro, once you stop turning, it will tell the motors to change to the exact speed to stop the heli from turning, and that happens so fast, it will basically lock itself once it's in centre stick

s107-G is 10 times better :)

i keep dealing with getting fakes, only good thing about them is that I get to fly them into walls and things I normally wouldn't like 100 feet in the air before returning to the Amazon shipping department. You also get to keep the spare wings, as real symas only come with a tail rotor for extras. (some sellers include but not often)

I think the hinged blades are necessary to compensate for the dissymetry of lift. During forward flight the advancing blade has more lift, and hence more drag, than the retreating blade.

my uncle gave me his to repair it was faultiy when he got but they wouldnt let us send it back so he siad i can hhave it to repair the problem is the infra red it messed up it only picks it up from like 30 cm away at max then it goes mad i was debating wether to get a new circut board for £10 / 5$ but the newwer version of the s107 cost £12 / 204 so i think i might get the new version but its a shame because syma helicopters are awsome i have a couple my self there great for control flying!

@tony46255 I have two of the same one, yes it can, but best at night, with pretty much NO WIND. During the day the sun messes up the infrared signal leaving the controller while talking to the chopper.
