  • Drinking a Foster's oil can and watching Soundgarden. Life is good.

Why is the next oldest comment one year old? How can nobody be checking this stuff out and commenting?

  • is that mudhoney bassist .. you know on bass?

  • Just saw Soundgarden the other night in Chicago and it blows this performance outta the water. They function so well together now, Cornell's voice sounds great, and they are all wiser now.

  • @italianstallion30 i feel that saw them in LA

    with the mars volta

    one of my fav shows

everybody (including volta) is on a new level now

  • whoever captured the sound or set up the systems did it wrong... this sounds just terrible compared to studio versions, I can hardly hear the guitars...

  • wow it is twenty years!

  • thats quite funny, my littel brother was born in the night from the 15. to the 16. april 1990. now he is twentee years old. but i thing the guitar is not loud enought in this vid.

i bet my brother and my mother dont care about the guitar from soundgarden in that night.

well, maybe my brother did care about the bass.

i thing i´m gonna ask him today.

  • This is just the start of a smokin' hot rock legend. Look at that headbanging!

  • The gift of voice himself!

  • is that chris cornelle?

  • @NickJanosky

    Cornell.. Yep!

  • @NickJanosky

no its his evil twin....lol, ur just used to seeing Chris w/ facial hair...this is pre facial hair.

  • @NickJanosky its my mom.. well of course its chris cornell, who did you think it was???

  • what is this, a joke, or did the video get changed?

  • @adam79adam79

Not quite sure what you mean... It does take about 1 minute for the song to kick in..

  • @12Daze bizarre.. when i came back to comment on the page, it played the correct video; the first time it was footage of that tadgarden show.. must have been a fucked connection.

  • @adam79adam79

Wow.. That IS weird.. Glad it's workin' for ya now!

  • god they are kids there!

  • that crowd totally sucked, not knowing what they witnessed and now years later banging themselves in the head for it ...

  • hey this is the day i was born! i was taken by surprise when i saw the date haha. i'm so glad that i was at least alive for badmotorfinger, even though i was 1 haha

  • Perfect!

  • i wasn't even concieved yet and they had Ultramega Ok out. i love soundgarden. ;D

  • No one mentioning Mudhoney? Sad. I love SG (saw them live from 1991 through 1994), but you have to include Mudhoney in the conversation.

  • agreed... Mudhoney one of the most overlooked bands of the era

  • I was 10 months old during this performance.....FUCK THAT SHIT! Now there's no rad bands to watch

  • @funlivelife i know dude it blows doesnt it. its like we were born in the wrong generation

  • @funlivelife I was 12 months

  • Who gave these guys downers before this show?

  • they have their own stash. welcome to grunge ibonyun!

  • nirvana sucks

soundgarden has always been the best, along with pearl jam and alice in chains

  • soundgarden are the best..but v.early nirvana was just twisted..paper cuts is a brutal tune

  • this is great! wow, just before it all spilled over into the mainstream! very nice! They had no idea what to do with bands like SG then...putting them on tour with the likes of Guns and Roses etc... lol

  • fag Calling Kurt Cobain a Weirdo

  • Soundgarden was the best grunge band.

    Period.

  • how bout nirvana

  • I think Nirvana is way overrated. I still like their music a lot, but Soundgarden was just better... Chris Cornell's voice is godly, and his lyrics are some of my favorites. Like every tune is in an alternate tuning and/or has some odd time riff, and their tunes, especially off of Superunknown and Down on the Upside are just so diverse, every song sounds different from the others. I can't really say the same for Nirvana, I'd say AIC was better than them too, matter of opinion of course.

  • Pearl Jam are amazing too man. Don't forget them. AIC and sound garden had tremendous appreciation for them.

  • yeah not Nirvana, that's for sure, only good albums they did were Bleach and In Utero, Teen spirit killed that band. But Nirvana def a top5.

  • i didnt kill them at all i loved the nevermind album but insecticide is probably my favorite or bleach.

  • grunge is a fucking label, but as a music genere grunge isn't exist. ... the bands who were involved in this grunge crap don't like the name ... and come on!! you can't compare Soundgarden's music with STP or Alice In Chains's tunes w/ Sonic Youth ....

Soundgarden is a great band and that's it! NO LABELS PLEASE!!

  • whats STP

  • stone temple pilots is stp.

  • At finally someone gets it, a label is just one more thing to draw away talent and credit from the artist. When someone makes a good song, that's what I call it I don't give a damn about the genre or the style or any of that bs!

When people get awards at those silly gatherings they aren't really awarding the (supposed) artist they are just promoting the genre to increase sales at some store somewhere.

  • grunge exist you fucking dumbass better go and search the rock subgeneres you dumb

the grunge come from the alternative ROCK you dumbass

and the alternative rock come from rock

duuh and better go to wikipedia and search for it

  • ok! maybe you are labeled too "moron" ... if want to be a conformist go on and simply obbey! ... but if you are interested on think a little just compare the bands you named GRUNGE ... ahm!! and go fuck yourself "junior brain"

    ;D

  • junior bri

    for sure men

i know more of music than you

  • LOL!

    that was funny!!!

a good one there ... but you know you are wrong especially if you believe all that grunge label shit! ... Eddie Vedder for sure would like to put a kick in you dummy ass for say that ... bye grunge labeled duchebag ... good luck!

    =D

  • elerickkoo.. listen. you must be 15 at the most. dont try to study up on subgenres and say "these are the 3 godfathers of [insert genre]" its a waste of time. i used to be like that.. "no man, vh1 and wikipedia says these guys started it all, and theyre the best in the scene, you dont know shit." all bands make music, and may be influenced by earlier bands, but in a scene the bands arent competing.. fuck, if anything theyre all on one team. by the way if youre gonna categorize dont go with vh1

  • you are a real tool you no. grunge was about destroying the confinments of genre and you just went right on and classified it.

  • And a year later he busted out "Birth Ritual" ..

In my opinion, his solo stuff is better than everything else he's done...

Before you all start throwing stones at me... KNOW that I love Soundgarden, and dug some Audioslave stuff....

  • Chris sounds different younger than he does older. He doesn't have that rough voice that he usually does, like in the song say hello 2 heaven, and he did that song a year after this.

  • 2:09 is chris slightly vomiting? he does sound pretty drunk compared to alot of his other live stuff. or is he just spitting out a mouthful of spit?

  • He's blowing the hair out from in front of his face.

  • Chris Is 6'3! And Chris Is AWESOME!!!

  • I Love this band...

  • You R-tard.

  • hahahaha

  • I wish they would get back toghether.

  • :D:D:D:D:D Awesome comment!

  • Go fuck your self man and get your fucking facts right!

  • rofl what an idiot

  • Dude Tom Morello isn't even in Soundgarden you have them mixed up with Audioslave!

  • i think its adorable what chris does on 3:07

  • temasoooo! y de los viejitos! que buena banda loko...y que buen batero cameron!!!

  • ???

  • "Flower" is one of the best Soundgarden songs, & one of the best Grunge songs.

No offence to Pearl Jam Or erm..Nickleback, but THIS is real grunge, & this is real Rock n roll, so the music industrey needs to get a grip!!

  • Nickleback??? they suck ass!!

  • Nickelback>?>>?? are fukcing kidding me?

    that is not grunge

Grunge=Nirvana, AIC, soundgarden, temple of the dog, pearl jam, screaming trees, motherlovebone

  • mudhoney, love battery, L7, hole, babes in toyland, seven years bitch, The melvins, mad season, tad, green river, candlebox, stone temple pilots... Who the hell put those band in this category? and why? grunge is just a word that explore something doesn't meant if they play grunge right..?

  • I totally agree with you, grunge is just a word. It may be a word to categorize but the music is another dimension to a simple name. But some people think that the word grunge was a shield ...Sebastiano.

  • grunge is a word people used to describe the sudden rock rise in the late 80s. It's not a music genre, all of those bands are completely different form each other.

  • agreed. imo the only thing those grunge bands had in common was intensity and rawness. some took influence from punk, and some from metal, and some from classic rock.

  • you can argue the same thing with respect to the term "punk"; it originally was the name of a NYC 'zine which focused on the Ramones, the Dictators, the Stooges and the Velvet Underground. The founders of the 'zine named "punk" said when "punk rockers" came to the fore, it was ironically the death of the original movement and very, very un-punk. Elitism, maybe, but quite correct.

  • All genres are given a name because the media can't write about music without giving it a label. It's usually a generalization and the longer people use the term, the more of a blanket it becomes. From what I've observed, the thing that unites all the bands of the "grunge" era is they were the first mainstream bands that expressed emotions of rage, cynicism, despair and boredom through music. When these bands took over, it was like all of the excesses of the 1980's came tumbling down.

  • @lilabitch Mother love bone, isn't really grunge, i'd say they are Pre-grunge/glam

  • damn, i loved this band. And I loved how energetic they were! chris just stands around now. Makes me sad. Oh well

Awesome video, great performance by a great band

  • i agree with u!

  • he looks tall sumtimes but i saw a picture of him standing on a skateboard and he looks really small.lol. but in person i'm pretty sure he's over 6 feet

  • Chris is quite tall.

  • he just makes 6 foot

Ive seen him in concert twice

  • i heard he was 6 foot 3 inches?

  • @onlytheawesomest trust me in real life he's quite tall.. seen him perform several times ..he's like this force that comes at ya and all you can do in just be in awe !! really haha ..
