  • Those good old days...

  • I am a Singaporean n indeed very very happy able to see and hear my favourite Malaysian band The Strollers over youtube. I saw them playing at a club in Ampang if my memory is correct way back to the late 60's. I love all their songs that bring back fond n wonderful memories. I am keeping a compilation of their songs including Frankie Cheah too (fyi 1957GANDHI). Your music lives on not only in Malaysia but here in Singapore too. Loves you!!

  • Hi, keithyoong.........i love those songs by the Strollers......just beautiful & worth listening........good piece for relaxing.....thanx for the download

  • One of those Malaysian Bands back then who did good music. Very Nostalgic. I was a kid growing up then. I would put them in the same level as some of those American Bands like Three Dog Nights and Grand Funk Railroad (GFR) . Well not as heavy as GFR and stil the best in Malaysia.

  • I am in a nostalgic mood - so happy to hear the strollers after all these years! Can i have the mp3 version please at mapholiday@yahoo.com. Thanks dear

  • Hey, good to see The Strollers are in cyberspace. Long Live the Strollers. Btw, can any body let me know if Frankie Cheah's song is available anywhere?

  • Keith, what happened to the original lead singer for the band? Jimmy Olivero? no mention at all. I remember he was the voice behind Strollers' first hit - I wanna be free or something. These are great stuff by our Malaysian musicians, I hope they all are doing well like Frankie. I know that Michale went on to make it very big in jingles but what about the rest. Thanks

  • 1972 I was only 12 years old,The First time I heard this lovely song from Malaysian radio,It knocked me down in bed. Then one of a local band "Extrovert" covered for their performance in Narathiwas. That was my beautiful day back then.Keithyoong.KopKoon Khrup Mark-Mark (Thank you very much)

  • And won't you beleive if I tell you that I still have the lyrics on one of my Std 6's exercise book. Yep, I copied it myself while listening to my transistor radios. Remember those things ? Ipods of our times.

  • i still remember back 70s when i was in sec scholl i liked this song very much and today i still love it......thou im a veteran now . thank alot to have these song available .BRAVO KEITHYOONG

  • Thank you, harismaniac. I didn't realise these songs by the Strollers on my channel would make such a great impact on people of our age. Those memories of our schooldays back in the 70's always leave a smile on our faces, right ? Bicycle rides to schools and plucking rambutans, I suppose.

  • AH yes, I remembered Frankie Cheah's "Woman In My Life" If I'm not wrong. But nowadays, Spore & Msia artistes venturing into English songs not very bolih....hahahaha.

  • Brings back beautiful memories of my growing up years ! Thanks for sharing.

  • I regretted giving away my vinyl collection of Strollers, WUB, O/Cherries etc to my cousins many yrs ago....argghhh!!!! They threw it away in the 90's...arrgghhhh (again) cos of the advent of CDs...!@##!!

  • Wow...

    The Strollers was awesome...

i hardly believe that in fact they are malaysian band....

  • i just cant believe this is malaysian band..until i googled this band on the internet by myself.their picture makes me believe 100% they're really malaysian!!thnx for posting their songs.

  • ikansusu , nand k is in heaven now....sl!ng

  • I use to hear this song while i was in lower secondary school i.e over 30 years ago..i am glad that i can hear this song again after missing it over the last 3 decade.infact i was looking for this song for a long time..thanks to keithyoong..god bless

  • Thanks for the info. Too bad you may not have the album, otherwise you will find from the cover sleeve that it is in fact "Silly Jokes" and not just "Silly Joke". And about Nand Kumar's demise, probably ikansusu was referring to Nand Kumar's son who is now in the US. Please enjoy the songs like the rest of the viewers and don't use this as a platform to outsmart other's comments. This is not a forum to prove you are one smart aleck.

  • lovely song...our band does a few of the strollers song.I actually haven't heard of them till one of my bandmates burnt me a cd of their songs 2 years ago...

  • the best Malaysian band in my time. Nand Kumar and Michael Magnes belting the originals as good as any foreign band. "The Strollers 2 " are currently performing in a pub in P.Jaya. They still do the originals to a raving crowd every Thursday. Last week Michael Junior perform a one off. I was informed that his dad is living in Australia and he is trying to bring him back for his 70th birthday for a final countdown show! Isnt this great news? Meanwhile Nand Kumar is staying in USA.

  • It was my late father who loved oldies actually. When I was a kid (1980 something), I have no choice but to listen to his songs. I don't understand it that time but now...it is music to my ears.

  • It was in the 90's when i first listen to this and I thought this was from the west. it's just amazing it's from malaysia. I driving to school with this song now. good one.

  • thanks, keith.....nice memories btw....

this was our country's muhhibah b4 those mofos fucked everything up with all the ketuanan shits.

    we really were BOLEHLANDERS then....

instead of the; i speakee no engrish, man.

    cheers.....

  • aditiajaya, if they could see things the way we do, there's still hope for this country. But with all the issues defending one race's rights, this country is going to the dumps.

The Strollers were a fine example of uniting all races and working together. The result is amazing. Everybody enjoys the fruits of labour.

Glad we're on the same frequency, mate.

    Thanks

  • How about a write up on them in the Wikipedia? Their achievements and what are they doing today?

  • Hey, that's a good idea. Will do something about this. Thanks for your contribution.

  • Yes Keith, they are on youtube too. Many local groups have just dissapeared. We must bring them back. Mike Gurchan, etc. Once I can convert some of the EP/LP to digital, I will send them to you. Keep it up..

  • Nice on Keith. I have the their 45s. There is also a Strollers CD. I was lucky to find it in MPH Mid Valley a while ago.
