  • Hey I just bought a new hp touchsmart computer, can it run games in hd?

  • someone turn on captions its hilarious!

  • whats the best asus motherboard for home recording on sony acid pro ? PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP

    PLEASE HELP

    using a 775 socket

  • I can't get the audio to output to my home audio reciever. Any advice?

  • hye rodney!

im AG from Malaysia. I was wondering if you could help me for a little.

i considering on buying the Phenom x2 550 Black Edition and MSI 7388 K9A2 CF-F A790X AMD Mainboard.

Is these components would work together.

i want to use PC for my 3D Max software and other graphic design software.

  • I have a couple of 9800GTX+s laying around from an old build. I wanted to throw them into something. I wanted to buy an AMD CPU. What would be a descent motherboard?

  • He's readin it come on who built it for you Rodders ? :)

  • @RogueBrit You don't really believe Rodney can't build a computer, do you?

  • i don't get these raptor HDDs

yeah they're fast, but they seem very small and low capacity?

  • there low capacity because there intend for a raid setup that hold the os and posably high priority games and programs. this allow them to load faster. and for storage, media, videos, ect get a single drive that's larger

  • what is raid?

    thanks mate

  • theres i believe 8 raids you can have.. raid0 ac ts as one big HDD raid1 is mirroring the HDD raid3/4 combines 3 or more HDD raid5 allows you to keep your info if one drive fails i believe im not sure after raid 3 and 4 what raid 5, 10 and 01 do. oh and raid6 allows you to keep your info with 4 or more HDD

  • lol that's complicated for me

  • 1:14 !!!!! FLOPPY!

  • 1:14

    REPEAT!

  • Dear Rodney,

Which keyboard and mouse combo for microsoft windows 64 operating system?

    Steve

  • are my eyes broken. why dident he show it?

  • do you need floppy drive for gaming pc

  • Only if you want to use a floppy disk...

    Which is no. Lol.

  • if you are using XP... then yes

  • lol just shut up :|

  • Hi Rodney, I know its probably now a late question to be asking about this rig you had setup but how did you manage to get your Q6600 stable at 3.5Ghz, I have the same P5N-T mobo but I just can't seem to get any stability out of my CPU past 3.0Ghz (Q6600 G0) If you can help me out it would be much appreciated also any other system specs can be given if needed.

  • hey the cd drive that i use to put cd's in for gaming and stuff like that is that the dvd burner?

  • idk. does it say "DVD RW" on the drive?

  • can you guys helps me, when i set my voltages in the P5N-T deluxe motherboard for my q9650 eg 1.3 it never goes to that, CPUZ shows the voltages the same as what they were when they were on AUTO which leaves me with only a 3.4ghz overclock on my q9650

  • u dont even need vista 64 bit

u only need it for over 4b of ram

  • it has better apperance

  • no it doesnt

  • its faster, 32 bit only supports 3.2gb and graphics card memory take away physical memory(RAM) so a 512mb graphics card uses up 512mb of RAM, 64bit however uses all RAM and none is taken away from the graphics card

  • lol no

i have had 32 bit on

    anbd theres no diffrence

    between

    em it runs the same

  • you will only see a difference if you have a high end graphics card, for example i have a gtx 295 which has 1792mb of memeory which means i lose 1792mb of system RAm which leaves me with around 1.5gb with 32bit of system RAM, that is SLOW!

  • i have 2 9800 gts

    and there is no diffrence

    same with my friends gtx

  • trust me having 1.5gb of ram available to windows is extremely bad, with my standard programs running in vista i use at least 1.4gb of ram, one time i went up to 3.9gb

  • well 64 bitr reconises 4 gb ram

  • thats1 ugly case

  • Rodney recently updated his rig to include two GTX 295's in SLI. O_O

  • Very Highly Expensive Stuffs!!!Gaming engines are getting changing year after year....

So its really craap to recommend the best combination of PC's Parts!!!

  • When was this video posted? His rig setup is ancient. As of Jan 10th 2009 you can get a rig that can kick that rigs ass.

  • how can i browse ur videos?

  • At the top of page were it saids Subscribe look next to it on the left and click 3DGAMEMAN and it will take you to his channel with all his videos over 1000 alot

    Hope This Helped

  • Omg u could help me so much right now.

I have the same Audiocard that you have/had and I´m about to connect it to my Pioneer receiver, probably a little older than your but still, and I wounder what cables and/or adapters did you use to get 5.1 surround sound from your soundcard to you receiver.

I´ve been looking in forums and so on all day, and I finds it now, on youtube, who could´ve known!

  • rod is the 5h v2 a 7.1 suround sound?

  • Your comment is pretty old but my 5h v2 usb soundcard got 7.1 suround sound

  • My system has now been updated, refer to video #1000

  • Well, another PC FPS gamer that is also a home theater enthusiast. Polk Audio make some good speakers.

How many watt is that Pioneer amp you have?

I have a Yamaha YHT-175s HTiB system but will get some better book shelve speakers to put on my desk. It's 100W @ 6-8 ohm so i can replace them straight on. Also have 2 15" VENOM subs running on 200W each.

  • @3DGAMEMAN How much does all this cost? DEVASTATING!!! This is why I am a console gamer, but there are so many PC games I like, I just don't have that kind of money to spend

  • @VirtualGotham

3DGAMEMAN is obviously a hardcore gamer and can afford the best but you really don`t need all the best to run today`s games. My PC has a cheaper cpu than his and cost me less (Phenom II). You don`t need all that snazzy sounding stuff. Start cheap build up. Just make sure you have a decent motherboard, gpu and cpu which you can get with a bit of decent research around the net. There are even sites where people sell PC parts to eachother for good budget prices.

  • omfg

  • You always seem to forget part of the "I hope that answers your questions, and keep your questions coming" part. :P

  • if you don't have beast pc don't get vista.

  • True

  • you oly have 2 8800gtx man i thought you had a better setup then that

  • i am getting e8400 and im going to 45nm quad in a couple years, that sound good?

  • no wait for the beast don't waste your money right now few month intel come out with the beast.

  • What processor are you talking about?

  • i would think u would have xp vista blows

  • I've got the p5n-t too (luckily I bought mine two weeks after they sorted all the problems with the bios out lol)and the Q6600, haven't over clocked it yet though...

    Great reviews Rodney...

  • Why 64bit?

Why would you wanna play through a 10minute power cut? (UPS)

  • m8 this reply is abit late but he UPS is a backup power thing. Its basicly a big batterie so if powercut his pc dont shut straight off. He probs has this so if hes doing important work and a powercut or something happens hes safe and dont loose his work and currupt any files. I think this is a awesome idea

  • You didn't read the question properly.

  • aye what you mean?

I was saying about the backup UPS.

  • anyone know how to over clock your computer?

    i have 2.4 GHz BUT I WANT MORE..lol

  • Search it on youtube.

NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE VERY GOOD COOLING TO OVERCLOCK.

  • such idiots.....my new setup got 2 4870 on crossfireX and i got 62 fps on crysis high settings 1920x1080

  • why two graphics cards? oh any suggestions for making a good audio production pc?

  • not the floppy! floppy disks fail (40) lol.....

  • keep the floppy drive alive !

  • OK, now you can sniff my underwares.

  • why do you use Windows Vista?

  • your a scrub.

  • your a newb

  • why not?

  • Vista just fails even though it is Microsoft's newest OS. Vista is just a new look of OS with new features all wrapped up with a shinny wrapping. XP for life till a new OS that pwns XP

  • well, it fails if you don't have a good computer capable of running it, maybe it is your personal opinion and I totally respect it ;)

but I have vista in my gaming rig and I've never been dissapointed by it

Also if you remember how XP was when it first came out, it had way more compatibility issues than vista did on its first release

  • Maybe in a few years I'll change my mind about Vista failing!

  • i agree with slip most people who complain about vista don't have sufficient specs to run vista comfortably, and yes you can turn off all the bells and whistles in vista. You should consider an upgrade in ram if vista was leaving you hanging. Newegg is the answer.

  • Not for Canadians lol

  • I agree Vista is a excellent OS,

Theres to many negative stereotypes floating around.

Unless you've ran it & configured it for around 6 months then don't enforce your opinions on others.

  • he has kids buddy.

  • "When"

  • All jokes tho.

  • u are sick u ass

  • im too busy to spell "you"

  • i wont to see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how many total computers do you use? just including yourself not faminly computers or work provided.

  • nice video Rod, u did not mention the make of your webcam, the quality is very good though, Is it a built-in cam?

  • It's the built-in webcam on my HP Pavilion AMD Turion Dual-Core 2.20GHz Laptop (DV6864CA).

  • Please refer to Q&A #23 ;)

  • why would you run raid...

  • Running RAID 0 with two HDDs is much faster than using a single HDD. How much faster? Well, that really depends of the HDDs and the RAID controller, but it's almost twice as well.

  • What do i need for RAID 0 configuration. of course.. Two hard drives.

  • you'll need to configure these 2 in the bios to your RAID 0 config. not all mobo's are compatible with these RAID options though.

  • I have the same memory and it is great and looks nice too (although it is covered by my corsair CMXAF1 fans). I also have an APC Smart UPS DLA 1500 built for enterprise servers. My comp can last at least 2 hours on that thing.

  • RAZER FTW!! :)

    I rock out w/ a lachesis

  • picture or it never happened 3dman

  • jeez man thats way nice haha i have 1 xfx xxx alphadog edition 9600gt at the molment haha

  • Why do you keep looking away from the camera?

  • Hes obviously reading all the stuff he has off the monitor or something

  • uh who cares... it's a lot of stuff

  • yeah i know i was just letting that guy know, since he asked

  • I think he is reading his specs on the screen.

  • so what? T.T

  • Reading his components? O,o

  • Not easy to remember the spesific details. ;)

  • hi i have a question.

what website do you buy most of your computer components and other computer stuff from. if you dont have one please could you tell me which one you would recomend.

    thanks

  • old stuff already

  • Nice monitor. I have the Benq X2000W. My rig: AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition, 2 x Sapphire Radeon HD 2900PRO 256-bit edition (CrossFire), 2 x 1 GB PC2-6400 OCZ ATI CrossFire Certified Edition RAM, Samsung SpinPoint T166 HD321KJ 320 GB Harddrive,Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer soundcard, and of course Windows XP ServicePack 2. I am goiung to Vista when I get the new VelociRaptor harddrive by WesternDigital.

  • Nice computer:) I like your audio system, because u have a Cerwin Vega sub. Im a Cerwin Vega fan:P check my user for videos:)

    nice computer:D

  • Wish I had the money to drop on a system like that. I put my main c2d gaming system together for less than $500 mostly with used parts off ebay, and open box's from newegg. lol

  • Hi there, been watching your vids for a couple of years now, used to love your reviews when your wife was in them.

Well, you when with the Silverstone TJ07, how about Lian-Li? the PCP-P60 or 80 really looks nice. or even the new TYR-PC x2000

  • Nice system! I think mine was great for the price. E7200, 8800GT, 250gb 7200.10 drive and a DFI Lanparty p35 only around 750$!

  • could you do a review on the new radeon vid card if you an pleaseee and nice rig

  • nice computer.

    lol, floppy drive

  • How long are you going to use 8800 GTX there are cards are faster and cooler cards than these two

  • Yea, 8800GTX video cards are a little old, but they run everything I'm currently playing.

  • exactly, I see no need to upgrade now :)

  • nice setup!!

  • He answered my question!

  • hey really liking your videos but cant seem to give ya a queation so here's one if you please. What amd & intel processors (Dual Core) are best for overclocking Using WATER Cooling & what motherboard for would be best for this task

    Thanks

  • Your Canadian yet you have nvidia graphics cards you should be supporting ATI

  • rofl my 4850 owns the 8800gtx and ultra

  • Too bad you don't have two.

  • yea im giong to get a second one in the like 3rd price drop

and i need a new psu

    i have a 500w

  • Rodney......keep ur videos coming!

  • rraapptorr X 150GB HARD DRIVE !

    awesome.

  • i have that

  • Rodney m8 .. first question popping in my head, how mutch does this cost =)

  • good audio is a must, those all in 1 box 5.1's make my ears cringe. Do you use analogue or digital to your reciever?

  • agreed. I've got my audio wired into 2 large box Aiwa box speakers, both with 2 large tweeters, 4 inch mid-range, and 8 inch subwoofers on both.

Tweeters really pierce through your head when gaming and gun shots are fired <3

  • G.Skill memory rocks.

nice videos Rodney, keep 'em coming. =)

  • Hey Rodney! What voltage are you using at ur Q6660 oc to 3.5 Ghz? and is the the B3 or GO REVISION?

    Thx and advance :)

  • Question: How much did your computer system cost to built?

  • Thanks !!!

  • Good vid Rodney, once again. Almost the same setup. ;)

  • A small edit, obviously!

Question! How do you feel about partitioning and what's good/bad about it?

  • QUESTION!:

    Here's my question:

I am buying a second monitor to set up a dual monitor display and am wondering if I should spend extra money on a LCD with a 2ms response rather than a 5ms response monitor. Is there a noticeable difference in gaming with the 2ms display?

  • I'd love to see pictures

  • What Games do u play rodney? u gotta use some of that horsepower in ure comp for something other than minesweeper and rune scape =P

  • we have almos the same center channel and receiver, same manufacturer, slightly different model number =P

  • Hey?

    I have a question.

I currently have 4GB of RAM in my current PC is it worth adding annother 4GB. My specs are

    intel core2quad @ 2.4ghz

    4GB RAM

    ati 3850 512mb graphics

750 GB hdd with 32MB cache.

    800W power supply

    Cheers rosscon

  • Although I'm not Rodney, I think 8GBs is overkill. 4GBs of RAM is enough, IMO. Most recent games recommended requirements ask for 2GBs, I believe.

  • Bragging rights.

  • no if it were for bragging rights he would have 2 280s in there, his is just for preformance and price

  • Its a MATX system so i can only fit one GFX Card and a 3870x2 would take too much room.

  • Lol, hell no.

  • the 3850 in there now only just fits

  • My comment was in response to SirNoobs.

  • Yea, 4GB of DDR2 is more than enough for gaming :)

  • kool cheers

  • Great Vids keep em coming so what games do u play . Do u play microsoft flight sim at all.

  • Zomg in before 20

  • Excellent system, but don't you have a storage drive (for videos, music, etc..)?

If I had a system like that I would put in a pair of 500GB or even 1TB disks in RAID 1.

  • Rodney, what do you think of all the people that complain about Vista? I'm thinking about upgrading but not sure due to all the bad reviews.

  • I'd skip vista unless you have a really, really top end computer system and you want to view the DX10 content in new games. Microsoft will be releasing another OS in about a year so I'll rather wait and see if they did anything good with that.

  • You are soooo lost...

  • Great one-liner, I'm impressed by your ability to prove your point. :P

Have you ever used vista, for any purpose other then looking at the half-hour worth of interesting eye-candy I mean?

  • Erm what, they won't make anything new for many many years Vista doesn't even work properly yet why would they release something new.

  • Windows 7 is planned to be released somewhere around January 2010, retard.

    That's only a year and a half.

  • Hah, Windows 7 is just Vista 2, retard.

  • No it isn't, vista is more like 0.5xWindows 7

  • Lawl, that's not completely false :P

  • Its a massive difference, what your suggesting is that 7 is a rehash of windows Vista, in reality Vista is a crippled and rushed version of 7...

  • Potatoes Pototoes tamatoes tomotoes. I say its Vista 2, not rehashed, and you say Vista is Windows 7 0.5, same thing bud.

  • Don't. Xp all the way. Vista is horrible

  • vista rocks, xp is for noobs,

  • vista just has a few compatibility issues...i've only encountered 3 in the past year and a half with this comp...but i heard 64bit has more issues

but dx10 is a dream xD

  • Note to self: Do video on this very topic.

  • Note to Rodney: That is a great idea... as long as you pull vista in the dirt ;p

  • What are some good headsets you like? I really don't know crap about these.. and most of them you have reviewed are just "Great"

  • My system is: AMD 6400+, ASUS M2N duluex editio, 3 mb ram (6400DDR2),MSI 8800 GTS 512 mb.

  • what kind of fps do you play?

  • hmmm... do you have a nice stresstest for Ram ?

  • I have AMD 6400+ cpu. Is really huge difference between AMD phonom9850 and AMD 6400+ black edition? and should I change my AMD system to intel system?

  • Can you make a video of your system and post that so we can all see what it looks like?

  • you said, you really love first person shooters, you should make a video on which ones really float your boat, because i am interested:) and which ones you dislike

  • Excellent question. And yes, I plan on doing a video on this :)
