  • ok

  • hey scotty were those 5.11 tac lite pro pants you are wearing i have a pair and they look similiar and thanks for all these great videos

  • My V8 Chevy truck 97 there cracking noise inside the engine.

  • @oo7jamebond remove the fan belts and run the engine, pray the noise goes away, then it's something the belt drives. If it still makes it, serious damage inside the engine. Scotty

  • Yea...Scotty would never have to cook for Thanksgiving or Christmas if he were my neighbor.....you the man, Scotty. Your vids rock!!!

  • You are littel crazy, but i like you.. Thanks sir.

  • All metrics. 5.5, 8, 10, 12-22mm. Should cover the vast majority of socket sizes that you need to work on every car...Japanese, American, or German.

  • Need to get that tools..

  • Scotty could you tell me the most common (Popular) wrench sizes for inch and metric the reason I'm asking Is I'm going to buy some snap on tools but can't afford the whole sets so could you just name the most popular sizes and I'll buy those.

  • @testbooster I only do metric, 10, 12, 13 14, 17, and 19 mm. Scotty

  • How good would that steelman be for under the car or around/in the suspension area?

Theres definately a noise I have that me or any mechanic has yet to find on my car lol,,,

  • @MarstaJNZ You can't beat the steelman, watch my other video "how to find suspension noises in your car" and you'll see how it works. Scotty

  • Im getting into mechanics and would like to know if I should invest in metric or imperial size wrenches and sockets. Which sizes do you commonly use?

  • @MoneyMarcMes all cars use metric these days, even american cars. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Thanks for the reply Scotty, Love your episodes. Is there any tools such as sockets and wrenches that are commonly used that are imperial? Or should I just buy straight metric sockets and wrenches? Thanks again. Marc

  • I have a set of those gear wrenches as you call em. I just LOVE em. All this time I've been calling em ratchet wrenches lol.

  • I want that power probe 3 !!! is there a chinese knock off or someting similar and cheaper?

  • @guayacan07 Not that I know of, and it's only a hundred bucks, mine have lasted decades. Scotty

  • hello scotty , thank you for your advice about the power probe 3 , it is very good idea .HAPPY HOLIDAYS

  • there is alway going to be someone that don't like something about other people say and they will almost always disagree with what they say. go figure!!!!

  • hallo ...scottykilmer merry christmas scottykilmer heppy new 2011

  • "Sometimes patience and penetrating oil are all that's needed."

    THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID

  • Ratcheting wrenches and PB Blaster are really a must have.

  • Scotty would be the coolest neighbor!

  • i agree the power probe is great.

  • You're the man Scotty. Thanks for this video, it really helped me answer my family's questions when they ask me what I want for christmas.

  • I would love getting that steelman but i bet it´s really expensive right?

And thank you for fixing the audiosync with the intro/video and the outro ;)

Also a Merry christmas from a snowy sweden.

  • @chrilla1980 It's not that expensive, Seen it as low as 110 bucks by googling it. And I'm going to a snowy Lake Tahoe. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer Hooly...then i might google it myself and maybe even buy one.....but i wonder if they ship to sweden.

    cheerz

  • Nice selection of tool choice. I'll ask Santa for one or two of them.#

    Thanks and Happy Christmas.

  • I was recently at Sears and they had a different design that looked more like a spline that can bite into the nut or bolt.. Any thoughts on this design? I bought one typical older 16 point? design and it seemed to want to slip off if it was even at a slight angle. This is one of my biggest complaints with most designs. The plastic holder wouldn't hold them so I have them stacked. There's a more recent Velcro or similar tape that looks like a winner. these now fit added to my new sears case set.

  • @Haleon1018 Those are made for taking off stripped nuts and bolts by gripping them. They can also work on regular ones, but often don't fig snug enough for me. Scotty

  • Gracias Scotty !! Son muy instructivos tus videos !! ...... Your videos are very informative !!

  • We need more intelligent techs out there like you scotty. People who love what they do and enjoy sharing the knowledge they've learned with others. That's what I'm trying to start doing now!!!

You've been a huge inspiration man & I just wanna let you know you're doing an excellent job.

    Have a merry christmas!

    Anthony

  • I think another great tool to have is a small blow torch. Sometimes PB alone doesnt work, and sometimes mechanics used red locktight on bolts, and the only way to get that off is to heat them up.

When i changed my differential fluids in my 5.9 98 Grand cherokee i bought a few months ago i could get the cover's off. PB blaster and a breaker bar wouldnt work. Had to use a torch and heat them up. Turned out they had that red locktight all over them.. Some genious mechanic musta did that

  • Your hilarious

  • wow great tools. thanks a lot mr.kilmer.

  • another great video

  • "Sometimes Patience and penetrating oil is all that's needed." An analogy for life really.

  • your the best!

  • Always interesting, Scotty.

  • Power probe + Gear wrenches= VERY COOL!

Now I know what I want for X-mas!

  • Are those Sennheiser headphones?

  • @GrandCaravanSE You've got me, the kit didn't come with big headphones so I just used a pair I use when editing videos. Scotty

  • marvels mystery penetrating oil is pretty good.

  • Really I think the gear or ratchet wrenches (however anyone prefers to call it) are ideal for taking out something with a wire attached to it (like a oxygen sensor).

  • hello man! do you have a work shop?

  • @nbaalltheway Na, I split with Santa years ago. Scotty

  • I want the Gear Wrenches and the PB Blaster!!!!

    please

  • Happy holydays to you and yours Mr Kilmer

  • Santa, the Gear wrenches are great, especially the flex head style. Merry X Mas.

  • Thanks Scotty; Santa is bringing me a Power Probe III, if I'm a good lad. Looks really useful. Thanks. Rev up your engines!

  • "Patience and Penetrating Oil, sometimes that is all that is needed" I love that quote.

  • isnt it a ratchet wrenches? Or is that maybe a differnt brand?

  • @shadowhunter45s Different brand, they are called Gear Wrenches, but of course, there are now many companies that make the same device. Just make sure you get a good one and not a cheap chinese knock off. Scotty

  • @scottykilmer i have a set of craftsmen ones they are ratcheting on both ends . differnt sizes i notice the differnce between them and say snap on ones. THey are a bit bulkier

  • i wish u were my neighbor so u can help me find all the shit thats wrong with my truck.. but yeah i have almost all of that good vid man

  • Happy Holidays Scotty!

  • first :D
