  • So my question is, which volume has the additional content where Costa officially explains the high elbow, thumb over grip? Exactly what new footage did they add to Vol. 1 and what to Vol. 2?

  • I just don't understand that chickenwing support hand way up on the handguard firing stance. Makes sense for target/competition shooting but not real world common sense.

  • Hey, this old jarhead wants IN! I've never seen shooting or tactical ops like this

  • so yeah can i actually take all these courses or do i have to watch them on a television on my ass?

  • @RelentlessBR You can, but Costa and Haley split off to make their own schools. Magpul Dynamics still teaches, as far as I know.

  • wish can be like them.

Too bad my country does not allow this kind of SO Called activities

  • @KillahB89 its not Blackwater anymore..its...Academi

  • so which one of these guys work for blackwater?

  • hhahhaa he said we are pro athletes lol since when shooting became an athletic sport?

  • @wolverine223 Ever hear of a little known event in the winter Olympics called the Biathlon?

  • "when it's us against the bad guy..." What are you talking about? You aren't soldiers. There is no squad attack and defense. Who are you going to be attacking?

  • @ninja5672 The Minutemen of the American War for Independence were not "soldiers" either but it didn't stop them. They were "irregular" warriors as opposed to the "regular" soldiers. Every empire in history has experienced a collapse and it's pretty much always violent when it happens. Every citizen is the last line of defense from any potential invader. It's bound to happen now or later. It's up to us to keep that fighting spirit alive and keep passing it down for our descendants.

  • magpul what are your next dynamics

  • this shit is better than viagra!

  • Hi, can some one tell me what the point is in learning about shooting a high power rifle, apart from private contractors or gun nuts.

  • @judopathoftruth There just a bunch of guys that like too spend six grand on tacticool rifles and run around like they have combat experience.

  • @judopathoftruth They're not high power rifles, they're carbines, hence the title.

And I cant think of a single piece of technology that is not constantly being improved upon. Can you ?

  • are these guys private contractors or something like that

  • why is there only a like button?

  • Meanwhile in Canada

  • U GOTTA BE KIDDING ME DEREK!

  • I wish this kind of training came standard with being born in America.

  • That part where he shot the gun was SICK

  • my favorite color is brass!

  • 0:26 the expression actually goes "Amateurs train until they get it right, professional train until they CAN'T get it wrong."

  • @MrGTinc They're talking about something different. They're stating that many shooters will practice with parameters that allows them to succeed every time in their drills. They're suggesting to push yourself past those parameters to start making mistakes, and grow as a shooter.

  • @Coop772 Then the saying would go something like "Amateurs train to get it right. Professionals train to get it wrong", don't you think?

Listen: Chris made a mistake. Big deal. To try to cook up a justification for it just because he's Chris Costa just makes it worse.

  • @SciencePenguin I have no idea who Chris Costa is, I'm just saying it makes sense from another perspective.

  • @MrGTinc The saying is correct. It was modified by Magpul Dynamics instructors to point out that true professionals constantly push themselves to failure and then learn from that failure.

  • @Magpul I can't believe how many times you guys have to explain that. Maybe you should just put it in the description.

  • @MrGTinc Your really going to correct Cris Costa?

  • @inyoface11b Are you really not going to correct someone's mistake just because he's Chris Costa?

  • FALSE.

Professionals train until they CANT get it wrong.

  • @AhilMohan When you get to the point that you believe that you cannot get it wrong, is when you will get other hurt around you. This is called being complacent.

  • @AhilMohan you missed the whole point they were making...

  • Was the first Magpul video really released in 2007? I was thinking more like 2009.

  • @IMFDB The first Art of the Tactical Carbine was completed late 2007 with limited release in that year and a wider general release first quarter 2008.

  • We really need more Americans........ if a few could gain residency in the UK and AUS etc and reverse those insideous gun laws they have, this world woul be a safer place....

thats an amazing, like mindblowing! God bless america!

  • @Stag2506 nah, no guns here in Singapore, and all is well

  • @Stag2506 There are numerous empirical studies out there that correlate lenient gun laws with high crime rates within the US. I like shooting just as much as any other person, but to claim reversing "insideous" gun laws to make the world safer, with so much of these studies refuting your point of view does not seem plausible.

  • @deformedmagicuser

In other words "Everyone knows that guns cause crime".

Please present some names and authors of these studies? As they are numerous, you should have no trouble doing this.

  • @deformedmagicuser I'd like to see the studies you're referring to.

  • I think Chris Costa has the best gun

  • Thumbs up If you wonder how many shot their own feet trying to do the fall back and shoot drill!

  • @Moronisaurus You can be fat and still kill on the battlefield! You only have to have the strength of the 3- 10 lbs. Trigger your pulling! Running and gunning shot is for the hollywoods!

  • respect from france, magpul rules, and love u.s. for his constitution ( about firearms )

  • sweet more gun porn!!

  • at :45 cool ass carbine

  • i love that kac gas block flip up sight

  • what kind of bullshit is this?

  • Some MAGPUL equipment parts are Incredibly useful, like for instance some of the sling mounts... Youll never go back to side mounted sling. Its an improvement equivalent of version 2.0 so to speak. MAGPUL makes good gear, but a lot of people overdo it and put EVERYTHING they can on there... and thats not a good idea

  • Watching those video is like practicing MMA by watch UFC clips on your TV.

You got to be on the ground playing with your guns for a while and then you gonna start learning one thing or two.

  • Man. That's so gay.

  • these kinds of ppl really motivate me. fuck being pasifist pussies. take an active role in your survival instead of letting your country castrate you.

  • I remember the days when you could go to a gun range and have a good time shooting at your target minding your own business at your bench with whatever rifle. Nowadays it is all tactical this and assault that, and every time you go there is a group of neckbeards (who are grossly overweight) running these "drills" or hammering away with their goofy ass ar15 at a target irresponsibly. Those folks are to the gun hobby what riceburners are to the hot rod hobby.

  • @alexthebomb542 This made me laugh, but i agree! There is always a group that ruins everything for something.

  • @alexthebomb542 You assume that every person who does this sort of training is 'grossly overweight', which is absurd. Surely you do not understand the dynamics of a firefight (you don't just sit at a bench and plink away at the enemy), which is why you think that this kind of 'tactical training' is stupid. Don't plasture your ignorance through Youtube and expect not to get a negative response.

  • @samtaekwondo123 Of course I don't understand the "dynamics of a firefight". I am a civilian hobbyist, not an action hero or an army man. In fact, I hope to avoid getting even close to a firefight. However, if I ever am caught in one, I doubt I will have any of my long guns even close to me (and if I had the chance to grab one it would be one of my pre-86 full autos, not some neckbeard tacticool gun).

  • @alexthebomb542 good luck spraying bullets all over. even those in special forces groups understand that the power of one bullet in semi-auto firing is 1000x more effective than emptying a magazine in a few seconds. our current enemies overseas are using full auto ak-47s and get lucky when they hit someone in a firefight. one shot one kill, not 30 shots almost hit. full auto should only be used in beltfed machine guns for supressive fire, not in a rifle.

  • @navy4life5 I am not in a special forces group, again I am a civilian shooter (this is not a difficult concept). 90% of incidents where a firearm is present in a crime occur at less than 5 feet, so a long gun will be impractical anyways. Pick one argument of point and stick with it kid.

  • @alexthebomb542 i did stick with one point. and i only mentioned special forces because they are the most elite and top shots in the world. full-auto is useless and a waste of lead. and you said it, CRIMES, they are running drills for short-medium range engagements. i highly doubt Chris Costa runs around with his m4 on him at all times in case of an emergency. this dvd is for carbines, not what to do if you are in a bad spot at the moment. stick to one argument yourself.

  • @navy4life5 Actually they are not, the army marksmanship team out of Pendleton are the best. And these DVDs are useless to the gun community and help perpetuate a bad image to the anti gunners. They sure do help sell magpul crap to the legions of neckbeards hanging from their nuts though.

  • @alexthebomb542 the tactics used are actually very beneficial and magpul has made very high quality and vigorously researched accessories to help aid in the performance of shooting in a combative situation. in my opinion, the AFG is one of the greatest innovations in weapons handling in years since the development of the pistol grip on rifles

  • Comment removed

  • @alexthebomb542 well if thats how you feel, thats fine. however, in 3 gun and other shooting competitions, its all about precision and speed, so many opt to have slick rigs. all of the "crap" on these rifles have a purpose in the field and are meant to aid the shooter. the lasers and flashlights are useless in 3 gun, i agree, but if you are operating in low light, they are necessary.

  • Comment removed

  • @alexthebomb542 My point was that you are BOTH right to some extent. This stuff is what we are taught in the Danish army, and my grouping got a lot better when I for instance started to hold my rifle far out on the front guard (not sure of the name).

BUT! We are professionals, who do this very often, and still improve. To buy a DVD and run around and act tough. As someone said.. "to learn martial arts from watching UFC"

I think this whole DVD is bogus, made for the chubby wannabe warrior!

  • @Moronisaurus I could not agree with you more my Danish friend.

  • thats how its done

  • Excellent work

  • HAHA this is great.

  • Is this training for PMC?

  • @w1lln3ub3u No, not really generally training for anyone who uses carbines, for personal defence, military, pmc, law enforcement etc.... whatever...

  • these r the ppl we should have in our army...

  • daaayyyuumm, these r some professionals !!!

  • what is this sounds name??

  • THis video gave me a boner

  • They should get Tobuscus to do a literal trailer for this.

  • wow never realized how long magpul has been around. Came out when I was in Highschool, now I'm learning with my very own AR in 2012.

  • I'm not impressed with Costa's beard.. Too much hype

  • When he said your not dead until someone above you turns out those lights o was like beastly and oh shit that's scary

  • Want!

  • @xPrimer13 Your awesome (Im a subscriber)

  • @TehCodFilms lol were you watching the video and found this or did you like click on my name?

  • @xPrimer13 i was searching for videos like FPSRussia and found this and found your comment :O

  • switched on ...

  • Wicked Nice..............

  • are these dvds available in australia? cause i've never seen one

  • 2:21 Aimbot :D

  • hell ya :D

  • at 1:05, guy in the foreground with the KIA bracelet. what sight is on his rifle?

  • @johnstone587 I believe its called a elcan sight,hope this helped.

  • @dillholefucker That's it, thanks. Our SAW gunners had bigger elcans but I didn't know they made other variants like the one in the vid. Might have to look into that...

  • @johnstone587 elcan specter dr 1-4x...and yessir it is the same elcan that makes our m145 saw optic...

  • @FTW20ten Thanks.

  • Will the blu ray ever be released?

  • Wow... Costa shaved... I'm pissed

  • @YourAirsoftNightmare And you aren't pissed that Costa quit Magpul? FYI, he didn't have the beard in Tactical Carbine 1.

  • @John234pwns I thought Travis Haley left?

  • @Volkov556 Travis left a little while ago to make Haley Strategic. Costa recently left as well to make Costa Ludus.

  • @Volkov556 Travis left a while ago, but Chris left in early December. Any additional footage was obviosly made when they were still part of the company. DVD's like these take a long time to release (as evident with the recent precision rifle dvd's). Magpul is still the owner of the material and own the "Dynamic Carbine" course material. That's why Travis has the "Adaptive Carbine" with Pantaeo.

  • @alex921324: dude, I wasn't disputing you. I agreed with you that at 1:41 a scar is shown.

  • Alex921224 got it right - it's a SCAR. Note the reciprocating charging handle.

  • @FmrHrntWSO98 I saw the ACR in 1:40 and the SCAR in 1:41...

  • any plans for doing something like this for the Art of the Dynamic Handgun? that'll probably be the one I get first, as it will be most practically useful.

  • These videos get me way too jazzed up. I don't even own a carbine at the moment.

  • Magpul thats shit to have a version 2 for the people that bought version 1. If anything allow us to download the additional content.

  • @RedDragonLodge I think the main attraction for this version is the fact that it's on blu-ray, though I don't know why people would care that much about the added resolution. I agree with you though, they should have just the extra material available in dvd quality and on their website for download. hell, they could even charge a small fee for just that 90 minutes, as long as it's not as much as the regular dvd's

  • I didn't see any Bushmaster ACR's in these videos

  • @carmas54 1:40 second from the end there. true you don't see many, though. the AR15 platform is just still so much more ubiquitous and the ACR still needs a little fine-tuning, from what I understand. (my favorite rifle though)

  • @GrimBrotherIV... Ah yes min. 1:41, i just thought it was funny that these are the guys who where the face of the ACR before they sold it off to Bushmaster and there was just a mere glimpse of an ACR in their training video... BTW GREAT production.

  • @carmas54 I think that is FN SCAR-L

  • Maybe it 's the last training video of Chris & travis on magpul dynamic ......

  • Until somebody above you...turns out those lights. Amen.

  • Oh. My. Fucking. God. I want this.

  • Any plans to release the new material to previous customers?

  • no he is saying it right...you train till you get it wrong....you train train train the right way until it starts to go wrong then you stop....point is you train a long time....long time till your body and or mind starts to break down and you do it wrong....

  • More like the BROMANCE that started it all...

  • For sure I need to buy this DVD.

  • @DirtyMidgetStudios- The primary reason the military doesn't teach this stuff is because the individuals who develop training don't know anything about shooting. The military as a whole is 10 to 15 years behind when it comes to weapons manipulation training. Also, the average soldier is not a "gun person" and very rarely thinks about training beyond tactics.

  • hold up... thumb OVER the barrel? O-O

  • @SjKimber You must be new here.

  • @DrakonTheBattlemage

Not really. If I remember correctly the thumb wasn't completely over the barrel in the previous carbine videos.

Of course it has been a while since I watched them but the stance with the thumb completely over the barrel looked different compared to what I remember.

  • Is the 2012 calendar going to be ready by then so I can get them both together??? Can't wait!

  • Training also depends on the unit and leadership within that unit and what they want to teach their soldiers.

  • "Japan would never invade the United States, for we would find a rifle behind every blade of grass."

    Isoruku Yamamoto, Japanese General, WW2

  • Apparently Magpul should release a video on how to interpret the "professionals..." quote for all these confused folks on youtube.

  • I don't understand the confusion with "professionals train until they get it wrong." If you are "training" for something...and you never "get it wrong" then you aren't learning anything at that point. An amateur will "train" to the point where he can "get it right" and then stops...he is happy with himself. A professional will get it right...and then push himself harder and harder and harder until he gets it wrong. Then try to master what he got wrong...and start all over again.

  • Why doesn't the military teach this stuff?

  • @DirtyMidgetStudios

Budget mainly. Also, the fact that the people in these videos are advanced shooters, where your basic infantry soldier doesn't know shit. I was in the Marine Corps infantry and did a special security CQB detail, and we didn't learn anything like this. These guys are truly innovative. To actually answer your question, there's just too many dumbasses out there and not enough money to train them this efficiently.

  • @DirtyMidgetStudios The military teaches a lot of this stuff, but it depends on your vranch of service. In the marines we all learn similar things to this, regardless of weather we're line marines, cooks, or mechanics, "every marines a rifleman". Other branches don't do that, or do that as much. You also have to remember that some of the things taught here are not appropiate for every soldier on the battlefield. This stuff is really geared towards the PMC and SF communities.

  • Is Costa leaving Magpul?

  • @fatchicken2006 I'm pretty sure they have jobs and lives outside of magpul, this is just something they do a lot of.

  • Nice!!:D

  • I guess the most important question is....will there be extra funny bloopers? :D

  • Professional athletes? Hardly. The vast majority of Magpul's customer base consists of a bunch of fat, neck-breathing, glorified airsofters.

  • @Garuda1337

I don't know you, but you seem to know everything about everyone. Straighten your shit up!! ;-)

  • @Garuda1337 Yeah. And I like how it's written "Leet" in your nickname.

  • @Garuda1337 I'll take a bunch of fat neck breathing air softers over some fat kid in his mom's basement playing COD anyday. At least the air softers can put down the bag of freetos and do something.

    Lock your shit up!

  • @Garuda1337 Of course, if these classes and videos only sold to SF operators they would go out of business. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with challenging people to compete and train above their class though.

  • @Garuda1337 I disagree. the population of military, law enforcement, and private security agencies far out ways the small amount of airsoft hobbyist. Airsoft is not even close to the 1% US military alone is.

  • @Garuda1337 get a life troll!

  • @kalif151byccrew Let me guess. You're a fat, southern redneck who through years of inbreeding have an IQ equivalent to that of most cows. You managed to suck enough dicks to scrimp up enough money for an AR15, played too much Call of Duty, and ordered a subscription to Soldier of Fortune magazine. Now you think you're a high-speed, low-drag operator, preparing for the end of the world so that you and your AR15 will be there to bring civilization back to the people. You're a regular Dale Gribble.

  • @Garuda1337 wow, you got it right on the nose. all from 4 words. amazing!

  • Will the blu-ray be region free?

  • HOLY CRAP! Just when I thought that it couldn't get any better, now there is another one! Heck Yeah!!!!

  • Costa's beard in 1080p?!?!? Fuck Yeah.

  • I dont understand why Costa and friends always get that quote wrong.

"...professionals train until they CANT get it wrong." lol

  • @EmpathyWorks They say it that way because that is their philosophy on training. Once you master something (can't get it wrong), you must increase the difficulty till you start making mistakes (getting it wrong) and start the mastering process all over again. In short it is reaching your "Failure Point" and moving past it.

  • @Magpul In essence, never get comfortable.

  • @Magpul It makes sense now that youve typed up 2 paragraphs worth of explanation, lol.

I think they should come up with a new slogan that embodies what you just said, in fewer words.

    /2cents.

  • @EmpathyWorks Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Delta Alpha?

  • @Magpul I always though it was that professionals will train and train untill they get it wrong. because when you get it wrong on the battlefield you are dead. thus you can train no more

  • @EmpathyWorks The other part of the meaning is that professionals train until they get it wrong, meaning they are killed. There is no more training after you have died in a gunfight. Remember professionals in this business fight for their lives. If they get it wrong in the field there is no going back and running the course again.

  • @EmpathyWorks

trust me, every athlete, math genius or proffesional shooter thinks that way.

it sounds weird but its logical.

things like these will always need to be improved or perfected. you train till you get it wrong.. then start all over again and do it right.. then train some more and woops another small flaw noticed? start again.

    perfectione'

  • @EmpathyWorks You ever been in a fight? You learn a lot more from getting your ass kicked than you do from winning. When you win, all the mistakes you made are generally overlooked. When you loose, they're magnified. Same idea here.

  • Comment removed

  • @EmpathyWorks Please tell me your kidding.

  • Comment removed

  • @EmpathyWorks looks like you got it wrong lol noob

  • @EmpathyWorks If you own the DVD and actually watched it they explain why they say it like that

  • @EmpathyWorks Think about the quote. Amateurs train until they get it right a couple times, then they tend to stop there. Professionals always seek that next level of proficiency. You can always get better at something like this. Obviously nobody can ever be above a mistake, or "getting it wrong". The point is that is what you try and train for. If you train until you can't get it wrong, you'll be on a path that never settles and always wants to do better.

  • @ffryan The problem is that most people reach the level of "can't get it wrong" and become complacent with that. I think that's the idea that you have to get it wrong, so you never settle down for anything.

  • @John234pwns Those who believe that they have reached the level of "can't get it wrong" need to understand that that level does not exist. Haley and Costa will be the first ones to say that. It's an imaginary goal that forces you to continue training to try and reach the unattainable but in the process will make you better and better. Anybody who settles or becomes complacent has demonstrated an amateur attitude.

  • @ffryan Seems a roundabout way to justify it. If you do exactly the same thing every time you practice, eventually it'll be perfect. But that doesn't meant practical. Look at the guys who do sub-three-second el presidente drills.

  • @John234pwns I agree completely. As Wayne Gretzky always said, "practice doesn't make perfect, it just makes you better at what you're doing". If we practice imperfectly then how do we ever expect to get perfect, right? We want to continue training because we can always get better, regardless of how good we get. When I watch Magpul DVD's I always say to myself that I want to train so I can be better than Costa and Haley. Quite the ambitious feat but that will keep me pushing the limits.
