  • This song should be a perfect theme for Earth Day, lol

  • Oh wow. I probably have seen this in 16 years.

  • RIP Jim Henson, you are still missed today.

  • I remember learning not littler just by watching this video as a kid. And truly appreciating nature.

  • This song makes me almost cry because Jim Henson died right around the time I remember seeing it on sesame street

  • Thank you for your great message Kermit. x

  • I'm looking 4 this over many years,,

a sweet memory when I was so young

  • ohhh i remember this!!!

  • @Bigben1984 Do you mean the Fates cut Henson's thread?

  • There is a beautiful park by Learned Pond in my town Framingham that is full of life. On one side of the pond you can swim, but in another corner there's a sweet wildlife park home to swans and cygnets, ducks, geese, squirrels, a blue heron and lots of fish who are visible in the water from the park bench. I love to go sit there in the summer and communicate with my animal friends! ;,)

  • @astridkitty1212

Where is Framingham? Is it in England?

  • @Pocockable Massachusetts in the USA

  • LMFAOOOOO at the boat scene....an wen the guys tosses his rubbish!!!!!

  • We love You Kermit :)

  • WAIT A MINUTE! Who says that u could throw your garbage here?! On my pond Lmao

  • Kermits Ribbit's is what makes me smile.

  • The characters are definitely timeless and classic. Just watching these videos I think back at how long ago this was made and it makes me really nostalgic. A lot of these videos are so comforting and great that they almost make me wonder if I missed out on something from back when they were made. But each season the message in the videos is just as relevant and effective as the day it was first shown.

  • i luv this song. i remember watching sesame street when i was in high school. Wow, twas 12 years ago!

  • Very effective little song. These days, all preschool shows tell you to do for the earth is recycle.

  • 0:35 - You can kind of see the peoples' hands inside the fish puppets in the foreground. It's real quick.

  • its funny how kermit coughs

  • Where the waters fresh and clean, and peaceful as a sigh,

    i love that line

  • my youngest son shares Jim Henson's birthday...September 24, 2007 (Jim would have been 71 years old)...and I tell him that everyday...tell all my friends constantly as well...Jim Henson was a smart man to have created such loveable and timelessly classic characters that my kids enjoy now as much as I did when I was their age

  • @hopple: And Steve Whitmire, too. He too was born on the same day as Jim, roughly 30 years apart.

  • i watched ss from 1991-93 and oddly enough i dont ever remember seeing this on TV. im glad i got to finally see it here

  • i always remember seeing this on SS shortly before jim henson died

  • This was my favorite song when I was little.

  • I did a cover of this at an open mic :).

  • I get a little teary after seeing this. It makes me ponder how wonderful our world is. If this song were up for Best Song Oscar, it definitely win it.

    Thank you, Jim Henson.

  • seriously, who throws their garbage in a pond?

  • People who are too lazy to walk a few feet to a nearby trashcan.

  • Instead they go like a mile to come there :P

  • Comment removed

  • @brianklick multinational corporations, and the odd careless teenager

  • @brianklick many ppl do...they just dont care...its not right, never was...never will be...sure we know about things like this now days, but this was like a breakthru song few years ago...still ongoing....but its getting better...only ones who can make a diiference...are the ones who get out there and clean it, and those who dont do it in the first place

  • @GeorgeStraitJunkie79 too true.

  • It's just not the same without MarshalGrover's annotations.

  • I guess Kevin Clash and Fran Brill did the voices of the fish. Am I right?

  • Actually, songwriters Christopher Cerf, Sarah Durkee and Paul Jacobs are credited as the vocals of the fish.

  • Oh. But Kevin did puppeteer one of the fish. There is a picture of him getting ready to film this.

  • Really? I haven't seen it. Where did you find it?

  • It is on Kevin's autobiography website.

  • Great find, man. He did two of them. Not sure who did the other two though.

  • Thank you.

  • I love Kermit ^_^ Seeing him always brings me back to the innocent days.

  • I remember this song when I was little.
