  • I close my eyes every time i listen

  • That's how my Halloween in '95 SHOULD'VE happened. Practicing this song on accordion, now.

  • I was there at this concert at Universal. Man, I miss those days, seems as tho they would never end

  • Muito bom!!!!!!

  • the elfman roks.

  • I wish I could've been born in the 80's or early 90's

  • @alkaun123

    Best time EVER!!!

  • Time can be a theif, "we're on a rollercoaster that can't turn back"..."try to make the seconds count"...no song says it better, enjoy people, life is fleeting.

  • One of their best, brilliant lyrics. Shoutout to Dave in Cucamonga, I still listen to these guys thanks to you. Remember summer 1990 and who visited? :)

  • ainda existe a banda? baita som

    GREAT BAND...

    I really love 80's-90's ...

  • ive just started learning the accordian... been trying to find any songs to learn that i really like but i couldnt. then i saw this live version... YAY

  • Happy Birthday happyjack39 !!!

sending you the coolest song and video ever!!!

  • Thanks Danny. Just thanks. Nothing more nothing less. What a talent.

  • I close my eyes and dream your back together and Im there front and center in the ambiance of Danny Elfman. Hey a girl can dream

  • @piipsports, I was there and I have to dispute that a little. They played this song twice (and twice only) because the first time through it was too slow. The voice is bassist John Avila teasing Danny. They also had to re-start Controller (which they show in the video) but those were the only repeats at the show. The Boingo Anthology version of We Close Our Eyes contains a tiny bit of Danny's comments to the crowd and band before repeating the song, but not enough to give it context.

  • His "too slow" complaint about the first time through is also the reason that he is wildly conducting his preferred tempo to accordionist Doug Lacy at the start.

  • @Unheard08 Exactly. This was the second take and Danny had had a bit of a fit over the tempo of the first effort.

  • @Unheard08 Even with the wild conducting, it looks like he still didn't go as fast as Danny wanted.

  • @Unheard08 I was there also and your account is correct.

  • @Unheard08

    Spot on exact.

  • Essa musica é um show!

  • Thanks for sharing happyjack39 and yes!!! this cheered me up!!! ~~as always!!!

    God Bless You!

  • Here's a little piece of Boingo history- @ ooozetoons: Here's what lead up to Danny saying, "Shut Up!". I was at this show on Halloween Night 1995. Since they were recording a double live album and a live video (the only live video they ever did), they did several takes on a lot of their songs. They played this song 4 times- they did it in parts. When the guy yells one more time, it would have been the 5th time that they played it. They played it twice all the way through.

  • Jack, happyjack39 are you trying to cheer me up?

Thanks for the AWESOME AMAZING Video share!!!!!!! ~again!

it will never get old, NEVER!

  • they say to live with no regrets. This is the on true regret that breaks my heart...i never saw them live.

  • Halloween just wont be the same anymore with Boingo!

  • Danny has done quite well ......doing all the Tim Burton soundtracks !

  • My anthem! Love it live!

  • Im on the Farewell video... Interviewed... Love it!!!!

  • Really a beautiful song.

  • Best song, video, and concert ever! I wish he would leave Hollywood and Biongo would tour again... I miss the Holloween concerts in Irvine CA.

  • Oh, I just wish I could have been in the audience for this unbelievable performance! These guys were so incredibly good, and the joy they had in performing is just the icing on the cake. Love Elfman's bare feet! Talk about the anti-star! The Pop Puppies of the 21st C should take note and learn. And that DOESN'T mean ripping and sampling!

  • God love you for posting this. Best live band ever by far.

  • Best performance of this song!!!

  • Thank you so much happyjack39 for this share today! ^_^

  • Thank you :) Annakarina2, my dear friend for sharing this timeless classic with me:)

  • Thank you happyjack39 for sharing this video with me 2 years ago~if it weren't for you I would have never heard this song! Happy Birthday to you! ^_^

Thank you so much for posting nutstothis!!! ^_^

  • Awesome!!! ^_^

  • 4:06 LOL

Guy in the background: One more time!

    Danny: Shut Up!

  • @ooozetoons

Lol yeah that was the bassist John Avila =D

  • @ooozetoons There's a fun story to that. It's the bass player teasing him because he made them play it twice in a row after he deemed the first version too slow. I guess when you're recording your last show you want to get it just right. In the crowd we didn't mind hearing it twice.

  • @ooozetoons That was actually John Avala saying "one more time"...

  • @ooozetoons I remember this being one of my favorite tracks from the cd set I bought years ago simply for that little tidbit. kills me every time :)

  • @ooozetoons Earlier posts say it was John Avila. I haven't seen it close up or in person, so I don't know. Either way, it's a hoot.

  • These stirs memories of my childhood in San Diego.

  • the best band ever. danny elfman is a music god

  • This concert includes my favorite performances of a few Oingo Boingo songs, this being one of them. Thank you again.

  • Thanks for posting. It hasn't been on You tube for over a year at least!

  • This is sweet, in both senses of the word.
