  • CD Projekt for me, would do an excellent job

  • I'm definitely getting this game! Would be great to reminisce with N64 graphics <3

  • Jorah Mormont's voice should be a bit more older >:/

  • @Darkis718 that's Jeor Mormont, is it not?

  • @Darkis718 jorah mormont is the son (daenerys' counselor)

  • Bethesda should only be allowed to make rpg's.

  • @LurkingInToronto No. CD Projekt Red.

  • Why didn't Bioware grab unto this sooner? :(

  • Great Graphics.... For a 2007 game

  • @UKPingu They should get CD Project Red! They would do a great job!

  • Why did Bethesda turn it down? Now it's fucked.

  • "pree-decessor" lol, while it may be one correct way to pronounce it; i've never, in my life, heard anyone say "pree-decessor".. just gave me a chuckle how narratives always try to find new ways to make the script sound better, but the one word ends up sounding silly.

  • @noMotivation1 lots of people say it like that. i'm sure it depends on where you live.

  • OMFG give this to Bioware and win... till now it looks lame :S

  • @eatdeadbaby if u think Skyrim is a broken game u either have a shitty ass PS3 or u need to lower ur standards

  • i can see the potential of this though the game play, if they are showing actual gameplay in some of the parts, looks stiff, and not very fluid. That itself doesn't break a game but I hope thats the worst of it. As this actually looks like it would be pretty good. I'm glad Atlus has their hands on this.

Also I would like to see Bethesda make this like "hafedyehuda" said but seeing how skyrim was one of the most broken games I ever bought I'd rather they didn't. (Still love bethesda though:)

  • ...been fucking Lancel and Osmund Kettleblack and probably gamers' wallets for all I know.

  • @hafedyehuda Boring, monotonous, and filled with game breaking glitches?

  • @hafedyehuda Sorry, but you are fucking retarded. The only reason that Skyrim is good is because they decided to release mod tools.

  • That face animation... it's like I'm really playing Halo 2!

  • @hafedyehuda Oh please never do! One Skyrim is enough. The last thing we need is 'E-DDARD-STARK!' instead of FUS-RO-DAH

  • It would be much better, if this game were made by Bioware or Bethesda... or even CD Project RED.

But NOT Cyanide or another piece of shit :\

  • @hafedyehuda Song of ice and fire is meant to focus on characters, bethesda doesn't make memorable characters or story they make memorable and open worlds. If anyone, Bioware or CD Projekt should be on it.

  • @ItIsTheInvisibleMan CD Projekt is not able to create memorable characters and/or a memorable story. The only video game developed by Bioware that has anything memorable would be Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect. Still, Game of Thrones should be developed by CD Projekt.

  • @DestinyKnightX To be fair mate, thats all up to opinion, i think Baldurs gate and Drgon age has some of the most memorable charachters of all time, its down to preference, i mean i will always remember Minsc, Morrigan, Sten, Alistair, Viconia, Korgan. And for me the stories CD and Bioware are memroable, save DA2... Its down to personal opinion, i was stating my comment as an opnion not trying to force a "fact" down someones throat.

  • Looks low budget but still has potential. If they make enough dough maybe they can make it better

  • 0:36 Zangief, is that you?

  • Well, I read the books.....can't say I wold dare play this...

  • Instead of running into bandits your run into blood mummers. Instead of fighting for the Nords, you fight for the King of North. Instead of overrated and overused Skyrim jokes, you get Game of Thrones.

  • @FallenTemplar1405 "The Bloody Mummers"/Broken Men/Brotherhood without banners

  • @hafedyehuda I must say that I do not agree. At all. Games like Elder Scrolls work because of the nature of the universe and how the story really has no tight constraints or consequences. Games like The Witcher (1+2) and presumably this one rely on hub-based missions because that's the only way to properly see the rebound of your choices in a meaningful fashion. I don't think ASoIaF would ever properly work as an open world game because of it's nature.

  • Seriousy I think I could do better 3d models in my basement on a sunday afternoon.

  • LOL@ the 1990's graphics. No but seriously, Is this DirectX 7? If this game is going to be anything like the RTS they failed at, this game will SUCK bad. I agree, Bethesda should've grabbed it, and then launched the RPG, then shortly after launch Game of Thrones MMO! Could've been their entrance into the mmo world, but meh.

  • Bums me out that the licence didn't go to more talented people.

  • @destructyo should it then go to some big and known game studio? for small ones need licenses to get their games to general public(not always but often) and how would cyanide get better at making games without making games?

  • @FinFalloutFan Yeah, sure, I think it should've gone to another, more established studio.

Cyanide has made nothing but mediocre (mostly downright terrible) games since the studio's inception in 2000 (Game of Thrones: Genesis being one of them). If you're trying to make it as a game developer, it doesn't seem like the best business model to create half-baked games based on something millions love. It didn't work out for Bright Light, at least.

  • @FinFalloutFan But I don't know, maybe Cyanide will pull a 180 and churn out a great game. I'm not optimistic, though, I fucking hated GoT: Genesis

  • @destructyo i agree that GoT:Genesis was awful and that license games shouldnt ride only by their names, but im kind of optimistic cause i'd love to play a GoT (or Song of fire and ice based) rpg

  • @pogodoodporny Dark messiah was a sort of hack n slash and its a fucking epic game

  • @hafedyehuda Expect you'd have to make it none cannon. Oh, and unlike in Skyrim your choices effect the world.

  • This game is gonna be a fucking shit.

  • now that I think about it, you could probably have some game mode where you defend the wall from wildlings or the white walkers (wave 1, wave 2, etc).

  • This is really, really ugly.

  • I want to play the part where the queen and his twin brothers have sex and then they throw a 10 years old boy from the top of the tower. Probably will be like a active event in God of War. Triangle, square, triangle, circle, x,x,x,x. Or something like this.

  • Read the books, not realy that impressed.

  • @Wallykget1 What? Well, I guess it's your opinion. I personally love them, the best books I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

  • Can't expect much from a game by Cyanide. Holy crap what on earth were they thinking giving it to those idiots?

  • Cyanide acquired the rights before it was announced there was going to be an HBO series. So it was back when A Song of Fire and Ice was just a series of novels and a lot less people had even heard of it.

  • its pretty shit

  • is this blood or ketchup ? o_O

  • the graphics look bad.

  • Well, the graphics aren't particularly amazing... but it was in development actually a while before the show, and my gf decided pre-ordering it would be a good gift for a guy who LOVES ASOIAF, so guess I"ll at least have to give it a shot. I'm gonna hope a good story carries it past the dated graphics and the worrying cries of "hack n' slash". If not, well, I'll still love her for the thought.

  • atleast characters are better than 90% cast of series

  • blood is horrible...

  • Should have been "Over 9000 years ago":)

  • wow this game doesn't have dated graphics at, all does it? :P

  • @Easyflux Nobody will really care about the graphics as long as they get the storyline/gameplay right

  • @spiricn They won't.

  • @spiricn I care :P

  • I've heard of the Song of Fire and Ice novels...I've never gotten into it, but this seems intriguing enough to keep my eye on.

  • @TearD6 The books are better. That's the consesus of the critics anyhow. Haven't played ASOIAF RTS game yet, but read all of the books.

  • lmao this looks awful

  • have even watched the series

  • just sell the game rights out to bethesda

  • @TheRandomuser12345 That'd be the dream company to do GOT justice, but I'd expect they wouldn't like another story pushed on them. Bethesda strike me as a company who like to have complete creative control. But totally agree man, if anyone could do an amazing job of a GOT rpg, it'd be the creators of Elder Scrolls. Imagine that. Gives me goose pimples.

  • @TheRandomuser12345 are you nuts, Mistwalker is the only company capable of doing this game justice

  • Sorry but this just isnt good enough for Game of Thrones, first they try some RTS type game, and now its some half-assed RPG. If you want people to buy Game of Thrones, hire developers who will do it justice.

  • @UKPingu Just becaue the gfx aren't akrham city grade doesn't mean it's a bad rpg. I'm still holding my breath, personally.

  • @UKPingu Tale Worlds would Do Justice!

  • @UKPingu bioware would do really well with a GOT rpg I think

  • @ninjaguy1995 Fuck. No. I will not have Bioware ruining my favorite series. Bethesda is better than Bioware but I don't think the Gamebryo engine would be good for this game. Maybe Obsidian...

  • @SBmasta441 well I can understand why u would say that. bethesda does make some great games. The reason I say Bioware would do well is because they have made some of my favourite games mostly because they immerse the player very well into the story.

  • @ninjaguy1995 Bioware has made some very good games in the past, but recently they've been releasing shit like Dragon Age 2 and SWTOR, so I really don't think they would take AGOT in a good direction.

  • @SBmasta441 a valid point, but those are just two games.

  • @ninjaguy1995 Those are some of their most recent games. It's obvious their glory days are over. Another example is ME3 which is not looking so hot.

  • @UKPingu CD Projekt Red should make this game

  • @seiesebi Agreed, so very much!!

  • go atlus ;p

  • Kinda hope ASOIAF doesn't end up like the Star Trek games are like. Mediocre nerd bait. That being said I'll most likely be one of those nerds buying it.

  • catchy website name

  • Looks like crap tbh...

  • I AM THE SWORD IN THE DARKNESS

  • NOOOOO!

Honestly this will most likely hurt the franchise. Only a handful of games based off of books and shows do well. This reminds me of when they began putting out the Harry Potter games which really never wowed anyone and quickly grew boring.

    .

  • Was this piece of crap supposed to give a good impression?

  • 0:36 Zangief

  • Wall, wall, wall wall death - Mormont.

  • PS2 graphics lol

  • This license was actually offered to Bioware and Bethesda both already. Both turned it down to create their own games, with regret of course. It looks dated and all, but it's got some novel charm. I'm willing to at least try it out.

  • @evilyig I highly doubt Bethesda and Bioware are regretting their Elderscrolls and KOTOR series that prints them money.

  • @evilyig I would have bet my money on Bioware. The approach of this game is similar to their Dragon Age games: characters you play are part of the same world as the other key characters. Bioware would have the ability to build on the strength of existing lore like what they did with Baldur's Gate. I do worry about how this GoT game could possibly go wrong. :( It might end up being a hack and slash with no consequence trail.

  • How did this studio even get the rights when people like Bioware had it for ages? Boggles the mind.

  • Normally, I'd probably go with everyone else here and say that this game is gonna be crap. It doesn't look too amazing...

But seeing as how Atlus is involved in someway, I have hope. I know Atlus has put out some weird games but they aren't all that bad.

If Atlus is co-developer, then rejoice! There is hope and the game can make a huge turn around. If they are publisher, then rejoice still! Publishers do get something of a say on a game they are releasing so they can still alter the direction.

  • Early 2012? Rushing it out lmao. Think I'll stick with Skyrim, thanks.

  • This looks fucking terrible. A comically poor attempt at cashing in on a wonderful series of books.

  • The graphics look ugly !!!

  • You folks do realize that this is pre-release video, and is more than likely highly unpolished?

  • @SliderBlackrose You realize that this game is being developed by a company with a reputation for making REALLY BAD licensed games? Martin should have done his homework before tossing out permission to use his license.

  • looks really bad....i hope we wont see it until 2013 at least....

  • @Seriath1 Early 2012

  • Not impressed.

  • Cyanide Studios, who made the simply atrocious RTS..

Yeah, I'm going to pass on this, sorry. Normally, you get all of my money, Atlus, but today, you get none of it. The graphics are going to be terrible, the gameplay should be a mixture of Witcher 2 Choices and Consequences and Dark Souls styled gameplay, but above all. The one thing I wanted most.

Was to create a fucking character in this vast and interesting universe. With the premades, this reminds me -too- much of Cursed Crusade.

  • Very apprehensive about this... It's really too bad Cyanide got the rights.

  • :S maybe if this is good, then the Song of Ice and Fire series will get more money for it's adaptations. Here's hoping!

  • This engine looks like crap . . . I wish some studio with money was making this happen, I can already tell it could be way better.

  • Watch, it's going to be a tower defense game.

  • The world created by George is such a vast and interesting place. Why oh why do the first thought that comes to the developers' head is "make a hack'n'slash"? I would literally kill for a GoT game Witcher 2-style. Argh.

Well, we'll see. Maybe it won't be as bad as the last slasher Atlus promoted... *ekhem* Cursed Crusade *ekhem*

  • @pogodoodporny Yes, i totally agree those were my first thoughts. Atlus is really pushing the (RPG) genre label so we will see i dont think it will be another cursed crusade, i am hoping for a mix between Dark Souls and Skyrim or witcher( i want to play these badly but have no 360 or gaming pc )

  • @pogodoodporny baah, that would suck. point and click battle is so boring and pointless..hopefully the hack and slash is like in skyrim..although i guess that's not possible, it being a 3rd person game and all..

  • @pogodoodporny Why it's an Hack ´n slash instead of a Witcher style game?

    "AMERICANS". - Giorgio A. Tsoukalos.

  • @pogodoodporny what does the witcher 2 have that makes it different from other hack n slash RPG games? i really want to know cause im thinking about buying the witcher 2 but i dont want just another boring rpg game yknow? :)

  • @punchmonkey80 yo me 2 i swear witcher 2 is a hack n slasher?

  • @punchmonkey80

It has great consequences/choices -- choices can radically change your story experience -- but the gameplay itself is much like the first game. Improved, but ultimately complete trash. If you want a more engaging hack n' slash, get Dark Souls.

  • @pogodoodporny Why do you even want to play a game of thrones game in the first place?

  • @pogodoodporny The Witcher 2! :D

  • man, blood technology really hasn't gone far.

  • i hope this game doesnt suck

  • 0:36 Zanguief??
