at around 5:30 he explains that he just needs to water them so that they have enough water. The heather plants will not take more than they need, so as long as he wters them more than they need, he's fine.
i'm assuming that its because he said that the plants will take in as much water as they need, so as long as he doesn't under or over water them they should be fine... but that's just a guess
right but more suited plants will be more dynamic and with a steady rate of light they will be come docile with there growth. i see it all the time with my Bonsai, they go onto like a stasis after like a few months, and appear to halt their growth all together. interestingly enough it's like they prepare for like a drought or something like they experience the 'right' weather and feel a drought coming so they reserve their resources. plants are an anomaly....
speaking of bonsai's i had one which i seemingly kept in perfect condition as i watered it minimum twice a week and trimed the roots and gave it the right amout of sun and after a while it just withered and died. i dont no why it just died. got any tips?
trimming roots and minimal watering is bad news. the water should be plentiful. the soil needs to be moist all the time. I water mine twice daily (morning night) and thrice on the weekends (midday) the roots almost mever need to be trimmed and can lead to loss of foliage in most cases the plant can die out right. the only time the roots should be trimmed (if at all) is if the specimen becomes root bound
nothing. Youd be surprised. At first it does taste odd, but after a while, other water tastes horrible.
I have to drink the same kind off water he's using, because i'm alergic to something in city water. I think it's chlorine, but i'm not certain of that.
I'm pretty sure if it was really ultra purified water you drank, it would kill you. The osmotic pressure would make your cells pop. Just the opposite from drinking salt water.
no, gotta say your wrong there. No matter how purified, passing through yoru intestinal walls into your bloodstream is going to pretty much muddy it up anyway.
So wouldn't the plants eventually use up all the Nitrogen (P and K) in the soil samples and die or does he only need it for the 6 months?...

if water is a variable why aren't the amounts being measured?

but that's what i mean as the plant develops it will require more H^2O to sustain itself.

maybe they aren't grown up enough?
I don't really know...I'm trying to explain it to myself and convince myself that that's the answer, when I agree with you...

What dedication, and there's no need to apologise for your choice in music. Everyone has different taste. Hope the experiment goes well.

That wind up thermometer is actually a psychrometer. It's used to measure relative humidity, it has two thermometers in it though.

Maybe you should re-title with "Dirt Collector 3" in it.
I was just wondering too. Wouldn't opening the door and him being there and such affect the experiment?

It would be interesting to see how the natural dissociation of water plays into this. But either way, I'm not scientist
