i am straight, but i just stumbled across this and feel terrible that you have to wait to come out for fear of rejection...i had a crush in kindergarten that i was able to tell my mom about and no matter what youre age or who your attracted to you should be able to do the same. Whether youre accepted or not by your parents just know that there are other people out there, strangers even, (like myself) who respect you and are happy for you to live a fufilling life just the way you are :)

I had no problem coming out to my conservative parents. I think a better thing to do is consider the good and bad upon telling them, and be sure to ask if they'll accept you and love you no matter what. Also, be sure that you're ready to tell them, whether it's because you've just found out and need to tell them, or you've been hiding it for a long time, and you feel that it's the best time to finally let them know. You don't have to not tell them until you're out of the house, necessarily.

I told an uncle when we were both drunk and he acted like a complete asshole. Just last week I told a friend I had for the last 6 years but it wasn't face to face it was over 'Chat' on FaceBook and he was really supportive about it.
