Im the one that owned that cobra and the reason why it was fast and then slow down if you were not a dumb ass you would be able to tell I was on the ass of the car in front of me and had no choice to slow down ALOT. I tried to put the car as far as possible infront of me so I could actually gain some speed.

Anonnymous that beautiful whining sound you hear is the sound of a Kennebell supercharger to the floor otherwise superchargers generally put off a high pitch whine at full throttle where as turbo's are a deeper tone with a blow off valve in some cases just as high pitch depends on the turbo and the supercharger and the set up of the car for the noises it makes under the hood and out the exhaust

i think its because of the air that the supercharger is compressing :) same with turbos except they run at higher RPMs with PLUS they have the compressorwheel wich makes the sounds
