the guitar part in here reminds me a lot like a modest mouse song. also i never bothered to listen to this album because i was very scared that it would be a let down, how ironic as it is, that it's a let down to myself for ignoring it in the first place! kims voice is dreamy and calming. i was listening to this album in the tub. highly recommended.

i think heroin was a big factor in the calmness and over all creativity (not to mention the voice), not to say she's still on it, but it has its lasting effects. I wouldn't go as far as to say she's a "musical genius" but a musician hard at work. I don't like all the breeder's songs. In fact most albums, as a hole, seem void of any kind of constant. At the same time Last splash is a number one album ("as a hole") for me...(on an unrelated note).

I do agree with you I just wanted to point out that it was not only Frank that made the pixies a great band. I apologize if I came on a little strong but so many people praise Frank Black for the greatness of the Pixies and I feel the need to point out that he sucks without Kim Deal. Its worse then the Gilmore, Waters arguement and I am always saying "What about Barrett?"
