The Gothic Current is generally accepted as something both violent (sometimes grotesque) and beautiful... it's an art style based on antithesis, an antitheses that is meant to underline the beauty of the artwork using elements that create a strong impact on the viewer/listener. (take for example gothic architecture where the pointy shapes and overwhelming proportions go hand in hand with the calmness of the construction's symmetry)

This is not gothic metal.... but it does have gothic elements.
