  • Hey man you should purchase a couple sticks of soapstone, works incredibly much better than a pencil lol

  • wut kind of floor is that its really nice

  • @mfan2zee2012 Thanks, its grey epoxy with paint chips sprinkled on, then a clear coat. Go to How to Epoxy-Coat a Garage Floor By: Jennifer Stimpson, This Old House magazine.

  • @bulrydrdan ok cool cuz i have a light grey one just like that but it gets dirty so easily and nice truck i have the same one in black

  • @mfan2zee2012 Thanks, I beleive the paint chips hide a lot of the dirt, but I do clean & steam clean once a week. I'll be posting a video of the whole garage soon, you should check it out and tell me what you think.

  • @bulrydrdan i went to try to get my truck lift at the 4x4 company and they wanted to charge me $2,800 i think thats to much so what would i need to body lift my truck its a 2001 gmc sierra

  • @chevyguyfucktherest Thats how they make money. Now you can do it yourself and put that into the cost of a lift, if you have the tools. First what kind and how high would you like the lift to be & how much are you willing to spend? Believe it or not I only spent $80 on mine, the kit was $70 and I only need to buy 1 tool that cost $10. This whole video was created because I could find one on YT so I thought it would help others. So do some internet searches on the GMC and see whats best for you.

  • 4" would top out the travel (or almost) on most pickups. the key has nothing to do with the ride thats the torsion bars job. the keys job (new or stock) is to set tension on the torsion bar making it a harder or softer spring (in a way) there for lifting or lowering the front end. the new key alows you to add tension with out screwing the adjustment bolt in as far that is the only thing it does different from the stock key. you showed this in your vid. the key is not a spring the torsion bar is.

  • @cpinkerman Not at all, this key allows the bar to be center with no more tension than the normal key. And yes the key is not the spring the bar is, so if the bar has two rates of travel and you limit one side than that side is limited. That is what happens when you tighten the bolt. I tell you what when I get the time I'll make a video response to show you how this works technically..

  • couldnt u adjust the lift without the tortion key just by tightining the bolt

  • @151soccer Well yes, but you would have play only one way and your ride would be too rough. The key give play both ways, so your ride feels like stock.

  • @bulrydrdan There shouldnt be any play in the keys. if there was you wouldnt need the puller to remove or replace the keys

  • @cpinkerman Play as in allowed movement, not as is loose. 151soccer asked if he could simply tighten the bolt, in which I posted if he does so he would have play on one side and not the other.

  • @bulrydrdan ok it looked to me like you where saying the depth of the bolt not the twist on the torsion bar is what changes the way the pickup rides. because the bolt and key dont give thats what the bar is for. the bar is the spring. sarry to bug you about something so long ago. I hate to see people waist money on new keys when you can adjust the stock ones to give the same twist.

  • @cpinkerman But you can't get 4" off lift by twisting the stock key, the ride is too hard. The adjustment that the new key provides is that it allows the bar twist both ways fully. when you adjust the stock key than you limit the springs free range in one direction, this is why the ride get either too hard or too springy. Does this help a little, if not email me so we can go over schematics.

  • @bulrydrdan 4" lift is not a good idea without droping the diff down (on a 4wd anyway). To much angle on the axles. And if you put longer shocks on to give the tire more down movment you would be killing your ball joints in no time. The bar only twists one way. You do get that the twisting (torquing) of the torque bar is the spring nothing in the frame, the key, or the A arm. Twist is twist no matter what key you use. to get 2" will take the same torquing of the bar with stock or after market.

  • Looks like that 2 jaw puller bent the flanges down on that cross member when you tightened it up to put the new keys in. same thing happened with mine when i tried to use one. i had to use a heavy duty c clamp instead.

  • @dylanguay Yes, and I later found that the C clamp would work so much better but they were $135.00 at the time, and I felt I could make it work with the puller I had. Now the Clamps are around $70.00 so I now invested in one.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @poopdogsays... It is... "There are kids watching", not " but there kids watching." you forgot to add the word are in your sentance. Don't criticize his terminology if you can't write correctly.

  • @oceang60 Thanks.

  • It was my grandpa's truck so I'll be the secod owner. He hasn't done much to it except pull a tractor with it. I'll let ya know how it turns out.

  • Soooo I'm getting my 1990 ford f-250 sometime this week. And I want to put the lift kit on myself. I'm a bit reluctant, but this helped.

  • @SweetestSin628 I'm glad, now I'm not sure that the 1990 has the same undercarriage as a 2003 but I would buy a repair manual and check if this is something that cane be done on the 1990 F-250's. Good luck let me know how it turns out.

  • great video dude lots of help!!!!!

  • 1:00 it's not a "Number 18 socket" it's an 18mm.

2:00 It's not a "Pulley" it's a 2 jaw puller. A "Pulley" is on the front of your motor and it drives your belts.

2:47 That's not a "Spring" it's a torsion key. There are no "Springs" on the front of this vehicle.

3:36 the length of a bolt is it's "Depth"

I'm sorry to rag on your vid, but there kids watching and trying to learn something. If they are taught the wrong terminology they are going to have a harder time getting things right.

  • @poopdogsays That's cool as long as the correct nomenclature is known. Thanks.

  • yea i kno guys, i posted my comment too soon. my bad. cool video.

  • @pawwahi 6:56 loud noise which would sound to be an air compressor lol

  • Great video. It goes into detail that is very helpful. unlike most videos people post which dont show shit an they dont explain shit lol thumbs up

  • i had an air gun just like that, but somebody stole it, never heard the air compressor turn on, i wonder if its that little one he has in his background

  • @pawwahl A Craftman? Thats too bad. If you go to 2:05 you can see the 4ft tall 33 gal compressor in the background, thats little to you? OK.

  • : ) this is what i want to do for a living! : )

  • I'm planning on getting an f150 sooner or later when isell my current truck, probably a 90s model, and i'd like to raise it up a decent bit for offroad/onroad, what should i be looking into for a lift? ill also be putting some larger tires on it, maybe 30's or 31's, somethin like that idk, guessing it'll need to be lifted to put those on,what are some suggestions? thanks, anyone taht has advice ill get back to once i decide on what im getting

  • Comment removed

  • @nopi313 Hay you have to put up a video on the 31's to 35's and see what the difference is.

  • I myself have notice that most of the Ford Trucks I see on & off road have Rancho Shocks. I have Rancho RS5000 and they work great. I would measure the fit and look around for the best price and performance.

  • What shock u using? because i have a 98 expedition with 2-3 inch lift and the original size shocks didnt fit, do u recommend any shocks that fit between this lift?

  • I was like DAMN someone who knows how to work with tools!!! Then you hit that pulley puller with that gun and I was like damn nice way to fuck up your tools. But good info.

  • What brand are the tires you have on your f150? I'm looking to get some new tires for my 04 f150 and those look great on the original rim!

  • I have two sets both LT285/70R17 A/T & M/T 4 for everyday &4 for off-raod. Both work great.

  • what is the tool called that youre using at 1:37?

  • torsion bar tool or puller.

  • do you need new shock abosorbers for a 2 inch lift?

  • No, the originals are just fine.

  • ok thanks

  • what size tires you got ? looks wasome....just right. my truck is just like yours but grey. thnx 4 the vid.

  • no its a 33 gal that I got new for $99.00 at SEARS floor display. Its work great for what I use it for.

  • you need a bigger compressor lol

  • this is realy good video

  • Awesome vid dude, just got my first truck ever: 2003 f150 and looking forward to lifting it :)

  • me 2

  • 285LT 70R 17 MT's for trails. Because its too loud on the streets I have 285LT70R17LT's on the original rims. And the MT's at out Lake Arrowhead Cabin.
