I think it's great that you are learning to swim. It is a great workout and much harder than running or cycling. I started swimming about 4 months ago--I have an indoor pool at my workplace--and I swim twice a week. It makes going to work fun.
I CAN handle that workout. I love the water. In my earlier days I spent a lot of time in the gym. I ended injuring myself. Now the pool is a nice alternative to all the stress I put on my muscles and joints. Nice reminder though. Thanks Hang in there soon you will see the water as an extension of you. It's nice. Water is a feminine element. It nourishes, nurtures, and soothes. Where would we without WATER?!
Traci tells me this all the time...about relaxing and working with the water... you know it is making more and more sense each day. After I read this the other day, I thought of this before my first attempt across the pool the other night....It made a big difference! Thanks for posting~ahmad
You always hear how swimming is the least favorite form of training for those who workout. They always rank it low. I find it to be very tough though. Why don't people who train like swimming?
I think I can kind of answer that from my opinion only...I am learning how to not think like I am using muscles for the gym, when I am in the water. A whole new ballgame is in play when you trade the treadmill for the pool. I find the change up nice...maybe once I become as efficient as you in swimming I will be asking the same question too! Thanks for the post...~ahmad
I'm not that good....lol. Matter of fact, you and I are neck and neck. But if it's (swimming) good for you then it's good for me, so I'll just forget what others say and keep practicing my swimming.
The weather in metro Atlanta is so unpredictable. Right now, it feels like it's 65 degrees outside and slightly overcast. So, you never knew how to swim ? I'm not good either
thanks! Yeah I thought at first the drills would be easy...but swimming uses a different set of muscles... I love how it balances out my training... thanks for the comment!
