This is interesting, similar to a sweep from the DLR guard that Rafael Mendes shows on his DVD. I like Rafa's variation better though, it seems to have more control. Instead of continuing to hold the heel, he underhooks deep around the ankle (like when you go to come out the back door in an armbar from guard), which I think controls their leg better and prevents them from passing. With this variation, there is a moment when their leg is not very controlled and they could pull it out and pass

there is an easier sweep from that position..i find all that to be kinda useless unless the guy on top sets himself up for it. cool to watch though..

the guy is standing completely still. it wouldn't be to high percentage if the guy is actually resisting, controlling your legs, trying to pass.
