at 3:30, there wouldnt happen to be any more videos or stuff about the sameknife being made, would there? Im interested in seeing more of how my big knife's blade was made :)
i got Brusletto Middelalder as gift and i dont know enything about the knive pls can you tell me material of blade ,material of handle, material of sheath? Is forged knife? Somewhere I read that it is. I could not even find in your company site.
Please send an email to Brusletto in Norway and they will answer all your questions about your knife. They will tell you the steel, the age and the info on the design and intended purpose. Please contact Brusletto, their website is easy to find, and their contact details... Enjoy you Brusletto. It is a true knife and will serve you well for many years. :o)
As I am a knife-maker,I think that I have a pretty good idea of what I`m talking about. Take a look at "Kniven. En knivmakers hemmligheter" by Olav H Wåle, for example, and tell me how a production-line knife even comes close to an individually handcrafted knife and sheath.
The whole essence of traditional knife-making lies in the range of skills required by the maker.F.eks; If you can make a sheath, you can make a pair of shoes. If you can make a blade, you can make all the tools necessary for independence. If you can decorate the knife so that it merits the description "statskniv", you are both jeweller and artist. I`m not knocking Brusletto knives, or those who make them ( a great job;have worked in a steelworks myself), but count the machines in the video!
Good knives, but unless robotic hands are included, this doesn`t merit the description "hand-made".I spent this afternoon at the forge of a smith in Norway who makes knives by hand. They are not cheap, but every process is done by hand, and each knife is an unique artwork. Just loading the machine, and unloading the end -product,plus a touch of hand-finishing isn`t in the same league, and you know it!
I can recomend a visit to the factory. I have been there and seen how they make the knives. The robot just prepares the shafts and the rest is done by hand. Unfortunately it seems to me like you are posting a comment about something you don't know anything about. This is not Mora-knives. Brusletto has a lot of knifemakers working in the factory and handmaking the knives.
Brusletto is awsome! All this time I was thinking I had a good knife, untill I bought "Hallingskarvet". Its perfect, pure and simple. The best tollekniv on the market. Fantastisk
good to hear!! lot of all we buy now is made by machines. sorry if I was little rough on you but I realy hate factorys whit yust machines. some people yust want the money. :( thats bad but thats the human!
Sorry to hear that! We make our knives from bottom up and over 50 work operations. Most of these by hand. The machines only does the preparation, but everything else is carefully done by hand on machines of course since we produce more than one knife a day!
@bajsmannensparty That is not very fair! Have you seen their prices? Their prices are very low for this level of handwork. If you want an all hand-made knife of this quality made by people who make human wages, better be prepared to spend 4x-8x more money.

sure they could make their knives 100% by hand, but they would probably cost three times as much.
so nobody would buy them, the company go bankrupt and people lose their jobs.
i say rock on Brusletto, i'm very satisfied with the knives i've bought from you.
the end result is what matters, isn't it?
and should you ever get rid of the huge knife on the roof , i'm very interested.

Do a little bit more research before you post stupid comments.
This only shows how little you know about knifeproduction.
