Per the NCSSM site: "Our small but growing ranks of alumni inject nearly $500 million annually into the state’s economy." That is an astounding figure. Can anyone post the actual study conducted that computed that number? My Web searches have not located it.
@LutherSetzer I am a current Smather and trust me, it DOES NOT surprise me. We have million dollar endowments from a single endowment alone. I have met in person Mark Zuckerburg's computer teacher from college (the guy that the teacher part in "The Social Network" was based on) and a movie director that has turned down Angelina Jolie from appearing in her movie. Again, from experience, it doesn't surprise me.
@Farmer12J Thank you for the respectful response. I appreciate it. Yes, I can see how a "standout" school like NCSSM would draw contributions that otherwise would go elsewhere. I graduated NCSSM Class of 1984 and knew we drew plenty of attention and donations from notables then, too. I just wanted some objective way of quantifying them and clarifying what "inject" means.
