  • Can't people get surgery to not be blind anymore???? I don't know but if there is I would take Helen and get her that surgery. When she realizes how the world is that would be terrific for her! She could watch nature and see her mom and how beautiful her mom is and herself!

  • @JellyFish1Tank u are dumb they didnt have that those times stupid

  • Helen is so cute! & I feel bad for her what she went through was horrible

  • did u guys know hellen keller had a playset "nither did she"

  • 8aoife your right to all those haters i hope you get death and blind

    U GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    8AOFIE

  • i can only imagine how life like that is like...

  • I was inspired to be a author...

  • Closed captions for the hearing impaired. Nice touch.

  • i like it

  • why does she only want her mother and rejects her father so much?

  • @SharitaTv smells like the person who nursed her. Fathers tend to bond with their child through more external influences. Mothers have a very strong bond that goes beyond the external. I'm fairly sure she just senses that bond with that person. Could be a smell or pheromones or whatever.

  • @SharitaTv

same as what groovylocks said and her mother also spoils her.

  • Bad acting of Helen

  • I don't know what's more frustrating; being Helen or being her parent.

  • @Aboxofchocolates143 < Frustrating for both :)

Helen's story is so inspiring for all including "normal people" and if you like to see another biographical movie of her, see "Black" on UT, it's a Hindi movie w/English Sub. Except teacher is male - it's really good.

  • They talk first and then their mouths move LOL

  • They talk to her like she can hear !!

  • I know who plays her and I seen her in other movies before

when she is older but she was a cute kid but now she is

sort of ugly, she is my age 18.

  • "Listen, you cant do things like this"

.....UM really? LOL she cant hear!

  • awesome

  • @HarajukuEthan: Fuck you, you insensitive asshole.

  • Not as good as the Anne Bancroft version.

  • This little actress is fabulous!

  • Thanks

  • The reason why some of the deaf people are notable to talk because they didn't hear any words to learn for...

  • @harajakuEthan thats funny..because now lots of ppl hate U for makin that comment im sure ur very proud stupid brat.

  • @reborneclipse ok thank you

  • Why can't she talk she is only blind and deaf

  • @Wexy123456 its because of the deaf part because she was deaf from an early age she was not able to hear anyone speak so she does not know how to speak because you must first hear speak to speak yourself.

  • @Wexy1234 she can talk but not till she was older. Plus its not easy to teach som1 blind and deaf to talk

  • i admire helen so much

all the haters need to shut up

what she went through was hell, and

it was something that most of us would not be able to endure

if you are actually gonna make jokes about a blind and deaf person

you are cruel and cold hearted

  • @ice1140804 i agree. disney really dumbed a lot of it down, even simply how things were in the south in 1887. i enjoy that helen is the right size for her age, but thats just about it. nothing will triumph over patty duke in 1926.

  • @flowerofsilver er... 1962. LOL

  • @flowerofsilver well, this version is for younger people. tbh, i didn't really like the 1962 version all that much because of the directing as well as the comedic timing. The feel of the movie made me think I was a watching a horror movie and to some extent, Helen's story is that because it must be horrific to be living without anyone really understanding you. idk, I like the acting better here but the retelling of the story is more realistic in the 1962 version

  • I watched this movie so long ago. I found it :]

So little, blind and deaf, I can't imagine living without one let alone both.

    I might have gone insane...

  • Its a good thing Helen's family had money because she wouldnt have been able to get the care she needed. bless herr!

  • how does she know the sign for mother?

  • @JanuaryBlack1996 she doesn't know the sign, helen just made it up, along with all the other signs she uses. they're called 'home signs'.

  • @flowerofsilver

oh i get it. thanks :)

  • three ppl suck!!!

  • this movie suks

  • @HarajukuEthan Dude Really .

  • @HarajukuEthan dude what the hell if you dont like her why the hell are you watching the damn movie?!?!?!

  • @HarajukuEthan bastard, she suffered so badly and all you can do is insult the poor thing, you wouldnt in a million years feel the way she did you heartless son of a bitch

  • @HarajukuEthan Y DO U HATE HER FOR NO REASON?

  • @HarajukuEthan That funny because im sure people would want you killed to :)

  • ok stupid people go oline ans look up up a text reader program called zoomtext this enables the blind and visually to type without mistakes and it reads texts and documets from others now if u are all too stupid to realize the blind community isnt a bunch of of hermits due to our lack of vision fuck all of you

  • I feel so sorry for helen

  • Is this the original movie? Cuz I think there was another one

  • @ilovemylionheads This is the remake.

  • @MiSSannaira oh ok thanks

  • that is sad she died

  • @briannadragonfly every one dies. din dirin.

  • @belllatrix4ever Not really thats no sense FYI !

  • @smileygymnast99 ur stupid. how old are you? every body dies. go ask ur mommy...

  • So, let me understand this a bit more. They give her candy so she can calm down? Thats like rewarding a child for behaving badly. Well, with her disabilities I wouldn't

    judge them. Poor hellen...

  • @weasel1822 I guess they didn't have any other idea what to do. But yeah I agree, if you reward a child for doing wrong she'll do wrong again. :/ thats whats wrong with kids now aday's no one wants to disipline their kids.

  • @pianoluvr100: How the frack would you know what is wrong with 'toady's kids' especially ones with disabilities like the character in this movie?

  • @Neville6000 I wasn't talking about he disability kids. I was talkign about how the kids now aday's are rude, inconsiderate, and just plain mean. If the kids "now aday's" were disaplined like they were back then, then we wouldn't have all of the horrible, spiteful kids and adults that there are now!

  • I dont care how blind she is she needs to be spanked

  • @rainbowjacketgurl: Would you do that to an autistic child? Or a intellectually challenged one?

  • She reminds me of the exorcist

  • i am just in awe at the things she did. My theatre class is doing a couple scenes and in order to understand what was going on, we each had to do research on a certain topic like Helen's accomplishments, her books, Anne's life, the Sufferage movement, and Helen's influences. There are just so many things she did, and to imagine these wonderful things came from a child who was once a spoiled little brat. I mean, the words she wrote, how she can go from not knowing what a word is to knowing many..

  • @xoxoPrettyNPinkoxox it just amazes me, it truly does

  • @48TomKat she did more good than you will ever do in your entire life. you don´´t seem to know even what she did for so many people. she even got an honor from harvard university, you won´t even be able to attend harvard.

  • @48TomKat she cant help it so SHUT UP

  • Does it really even matter if they are blind or not? You are totally missing any relevance behind this story by carrying on about whether this person is blind or not. If they are blind then I commend them for their wonderful efforts to live a full life in this ignorant society. If they aren't blind then I commend them for posting a wonderful and true story about the life of a woman who overcame great challenges. Thank You for posting this video. :)

  • don't get me wrong, Patty Duke's performance is AWESOME, but I like having a little girl playing Helen too. Hallie is really good at this, perhaps a bit too soft, but showing how young Helen really was when Sullivan came along (only 7). It gives the the character a how different expression to the audience and idea of helen keller's experience.

  • @gothicangel how do you even know that the other person wrote youh back and how did you even see this video if your blind ???

  • im doing a plot and summary on this movie!

  • why are they even talking to her? I sorry, but they are just so full or themselves!

  • GothickaAngel

I play the flute! Im nit blind, but…

  • as visually impared person i hope they know we dont go about with our arms in the ar in familiar spaces true it i do it when i dont where i am but from what mom tells me she seems exccesive

  • The father looks alot like that guy who plays Iron-man

  • I don't want to sound offensive but this reminds me of the exorcist.

  • isnt she deaf.? dont thy kno tht cuz their still talking to her like she can hear them

  • I actually prefer the 1962 version much better.

  • i no shes blind and deaf but dat lil girl wouldve got her ass beat doin the things she does

  • In real ife Helen was on a train going to see Alexander Graham Bell. He worked with the deaf a lot.

  • off synce a bit?

  • I like how they put the signs in that the real Helen actually created her self to tell what she wanted as she was a little girl before Annie came.

  • Out of all the versions of The Miracle Worker, this is my favorite Anne Sullivan.

  • I love Mrs. Keller's fake southern accent XD

  • This actually helped me with my assignment.. thank you so much..

  • @willgordon13 i hope you have a child...just like Helen. And no money or resources to help her...

  • @willgordon13 She is not murderous. She's frustrated and very angry to feel so lonely and different, she lived in a dark and silent world.Try to put earplugs and a black tissue on your eyes during 24 hours,so that you cannot see anything or hear anything or anyone. How would you feel?Happy, surrounded, heard?I would go mad if i had to live this, even during 24 hours.Helen lived this way, totally cut off from the outside world, during five years. Can you imagine this?No stunning she became violent.

  • @willgordon13 HOW DARE YOU!!! you ass hole she is trapped in her own body scared and fusrtated and you call her a BITCH!!! oh just so u know yes i am blind no joke!!! on behalf of myself and blind community i am throughly offended!!!

  • @GothickaAngel1992 Hmm guess how much i dont give a shit :D

  • @willgordon13 way to be a jackass

  • @GothickaAngel1992 "very honest even to the point of cruelty"

And you're saying you're blind. How could you be blind and type that. And wouldn't you mention that on your profile?

  • @duskjaklolo have you ever considered my phsyical condition is one that might get me killed stalked preyed upon or even worse discriminated against second typing is something my finger s have been ttrainesd to memorize and its not just typiing i would not be able to read with our the help of a program ca;;ed zoomtext it reads me emails text messages and does a few other things

  • @GothickaAngel1992 ... Why? How are you any more vulnerable then I am. And how would you read the comments. And why would you be watching this?

  • @duskjaklolo i cant watch anything but i like to listen i have to have someone explain silwnt scences to me and did you not read my full comment zoomtext is a software used by the blind and visually impared it reads electronic messaging and data and if people go about avertising physical trenchs someone could easily track me down and something terrible to me and besides why is it youtube's business if i cant ser or yours i dont mind questions but dont be moronic about things you dont understand

  • @GothickaAngel1992 Look, I'm sorry and all about your disability, but I'm not going to treat you any differently than I do to any other person. It's unfair. So you can't see (as far as I know) but I'm not going to pity you because of that. And you can't go around Youtube claiming you're blind and say "It makes me a target if I say I'm blind" and then call me a moron! It's rude. And don't give me the whole "I'm blind. You don't know how it is" crap.

  • @duskjaklolo no one ask you to treat me any differently but its percisely your attitude for which i keep my issues to myself and you dont know what it is wake up every morning and its still night time but dont you dare suggest i lean on my cane i dont ask pity or special treat and if you really think there arent people who would hurt because of what i am you are truly foolish and i feel sorry for you this world is dangerous and unlike you i cant watch my back

  • @GothickaAngel1992 It sure sounds like it. "You have no idea what it's like to wake up every morning and it still be nighttime." I'm still not buying the whole blind thing. How do you know what nighttime looks like! I doubt you have any idea how it is to be hated. To be made fun of. I'm sure when you walk outside, EVERYONES nice to you. And EVERYONES willing to help. When I walk outside, people yell "FAG!" which I'm sure you don't know how it feels.

  • @duskjaklolo

i havent been this way for very long and what would you know of pain ive only been blind since thirteen being a teenager is already akward then this what right do you hver o judge me i was going to be an artist i wanted to shame boticelli and roldolfo i wanted julliard dont you dare some random stranger tell how it is yes everyones nice to the poor blind artist i told you i just want to be treated like a normal person not like a glass sculpture so take your cynical woe is me life

  • @GothickaAngel1992 I'm treating you like any normal person!! You think I'm just picking on the blind girl, no, i'm not. I'm doing exactly what you want and treating you like anyone else! And if you can't handle it then you shouldn't march around saying you want to be treated normally!

  • @duskjaklolo no your acting like an ass if this is the way you treat everyone fine but if you think im going to dance to your shitty tune because you think i need to knock me off my pedstal or something fuck you fuck you and your little sceptic remarks and your judements i hope nothing ever happens to your eyes you wouldnt fair very well

  • @GothickaAngel1992 Well, I still doubt your even blind! I'm not being mean to you because I have some joy in it, I'm doing it because your pretending to be blind! I really doubt you're blind! How would you type?

  • its called muscle memory the same way i crochete the same way i tie my shoes the same w y i button my clothes my brain tells my hand and memory the first row of keys is esc and the the f key and ect though how exactly do you think the blind play the piano or the flute MEMORY my head and my hands and my ears mustt all remember what my eyes cannot and no its not a perfect science but oh well now i have no more time to waste on your ignorance

  • @GothickaAngel1992

u cant b blind cuz if u wer u wudnt b able to reed this and wite it

  • @partyout1234567 there is z program called zoomtext that reads me everything on a webpage and touch typing is taught at tsb tennessee school for the blind how exactly do you think i go to college you people are so ignorant people with disabilities do not just sit on their asses collecting checks as the goverment leads people to believe and you've mispelled all your words my reader is picking it up as netspeak and using autocorrect

  • @GothickaAngel1992 if you were blind and how do you know they replied to you? also how did you know that guy misplled his words

  • i like james =)

  • she is such a good actress helen! i love this story!

  • we are reading this book in class and in 5th grade i did a whole assingment on the book i even make brail with dots of glue

  • shush girl. shut your lips. do the hellen keller, and talk with yoyr hips. jaja

  • WOW POOR HELEN... POOR BABY! =(

  • I love this story

  • How do I fix it so that the lips match up with the words? Or is that on your end?

  • The actress portraying ann sullivan is one of the best ;she plays very well. She's very credible.

  • This is a lovely story.I love Hellen Keller.I feel so bad.:(

  • Hellen is a pretty little girl but why does she have to be deaf nd blind?poor helen....I love her story

  • @PrincessMelody6 Helen was deaf and blind because of scarlet fever very probably, that she contracted at the early age of 19 months old.But she wasn't the only one at that time to be deaf and blind. Many children lost sight and hearing during their early years because of scarlet fever, whom Laura bridgman. She also was blind and deaf and Ann sullivan knew her.And helen writes about other deafblind children in her biography like Tommy stringer, Edith, ragnild kaata who was the first deafblind to speak

  • Anne Bancroft was something else!

  • im glad you put this movie on youtube, thank you. But why in such small parts lol, its kind of annoying. Should just be 9:55 parts instead of 5 min.

  • Didn't the button thing happen on a train?

  • @ Hannah4297 No the button thing happened in the house. I know because I've read the Miracle Worker. it's a really good play.

  • @jamjam123j2c I read her biography and she said that it happened on a train, but then of course I could be wrong, it's a really long book and I could of gotten things confused. Thanks :]

  • Possibly, but the book said it happened in the house I think. It's been a while since I've read it.

  • beautiful story. never knew this was so interesting

  • Anne's parents came to the states before she was born, so why does she have an Irish accent?

  • i was balling two minute into this movie

  • thank you sooo much.

sorry but it bugging me that the words do match the mouths haha thank anyways thoughhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(:

  • the pepsi girl!! :D yay~

  • how come the sound is off track?

  • @PurplenailsSalon that often happens when you upload it to the youtube site. or when you devide the movie in to smaller pieces.

  • @bluebloodvampire6 mynnee 2

  • @bluebloodvampire6 The 1962 version of "The Miracle Worker" with Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke was much, much better. I recommend it anytime just for fun. :) It is very dramatic, much more than this one. I love the 1962 one, it is one of my favorite movies.

  • Huh, the sound seems a little off. O.o

  • omg

  • When I read about helen I felt pity, I am partially deaf I ssome times hear wrong Or I dont hear somthing at all
