@94incurabil I actually sample a lot of my drums from all over the place (classic breaks, other producers, soul and jazz songs) and I layer them with other drums and add EQ (compression/limiting/tube effects/etc) to achieve the sound I want. Each drum sound carefully chosen, including the swing that I pick and tap into the MPC.
