  • i wish this had better picture quality -.-

  • gary payton and shawn kemp combo had way more swag then Mj scot pip

  • @crazymanjonchin Swag didn't win them a championship.

  • Gladiator song

  • What's the name of this song. Like a triumph

  • in fact real talk gp and shawn kemp were like pippen and mj

  • people bickerin man gp was a monster he always gave mj a run for his money every time they played prolly the only person mj ever feared playin

  • @wordanski Haul ass...MJ was just missing in the finals. MJ used to avg 30 points against Payton in his whole career. MJ didn't fear no one and that is why he has the highest scoring avg in NBA History.

  • the glove is one of the top 10 2 way players of all time

  • @cburns1689 No he isn't...he couldn't even win a title leading a team!

  • @Domini478 neither could a lot of other great players because of Jordan- he led Seattle to 3 61 plus win seasons, he had 9 all star selections and 9 all nba defense. Against GP Jordan had his worst career numbers in the Finals btw. I think he is, just my opinion.

  • @cburns1689 He went to the finals one time...What happen in them other years?? He couldn't get past the second round for nothin in the world! His team choked in the playoffs...MJ was just shooting bad in the 1996 finals...

  • @Domini478 he led miami to the title in 06 hahahaha lol

  • @cburns1689 Are you dumb???? He came from the bench...ole retard! He didn't win a title by leading a team.

  • @Domini478 i really hate when you say someone can't play just because he hasn't won a title. you say john stockton had no game ? steve nash ? those 2 are considered best PG ever, hand they haven't won a title. name some point guards thet led a team to the title ? Magic. Maybe Billups. Same thing talkin about lebron. he maybe didn't win a title yet, but he still is already one of the greatest ever ...

  • @FallenHardstyler Did I say Gary couldn't play?? Hell Naw! So, stop making up shit! Stockton & Nash are one of the best point guards but they are not the greatest point guard ever. Isiah led his team to two titles. Tony Parker was the finals MVP in 2007. Lebron is still playing so his career isn't over with...yet! Lebron isn't on the level as Kobe, MJ, or Magic. He got to win at least three titles.

  • 2:08

    best assist ever

  • the super sonics are not even a team

  • @CoreyPfeiff i hope you know thats what they were before the thunder

  • What a bunch of shit I've been reading. Probably written by some 14 yr old punkass. If I was building a all time team the glove is on my starting roster.

  • @steffy597 That's because you're an idiot. You seriously think GP was the best PG to ever play?

  • @andreboy1 Yes he's my number one FAG!! Maybe you should leave the debate to people who actually witnessed him playing! You weren't even a sperm yet!!

  • @andreboy1 HE IS the best PG to ever play. The first point guard to ever to be first team defensive team 9 times. All star 9 times. My god, name on other complete point guard than gary payton. YOU CANT.

  • @crazymanjonchin Are you stupid?? He couldn't lead his team to win a championship. His team always choked in the playoffs. Other than 1996, his team always lost in the first or second round every year with the Sonics. Magic won MVPs and he won Championships. Something that Payton couldn't do!

  • the glove

  • did some people forget he was a point guard winning multiple defensive player of the year awards and multiple all nba defense? come on the guy was a beast and did the best to keep seattle heads from sinking...seattle did a piss poor job of providing support for him, kinda like what t-wolves did to KG for so many years.

  • @josephmcconville91 He won one defensive player of the year. He had Kemp, Detlef, Perkins, and Hershey. He had plenty of help and he still couldn't do shit in the playoffs.

  • @Domini478 Kemp is about the only marquee player on your list, they were good, but no bulls.

  • @Domini478 he also had the bulls and Jordan to play against, and the same goes for stockton and the jazz but no one seems to hate on them...why cuz he was a good passer? please Payton deserves to be considered an elite player that people forgot about. his reseme proves that he was a difference maker on the court. he taught Jason Kidd enough to get a title with dallas...stop tha hate

  • @josephmcconville91 Im not hating...dumbass..this is my opinion...

  • @Domini478 most people disagreed with him not getting it more at that time...he was the best defensive point guard in the league obviously, 9 Time All Defensive First Team. You do understand his best team was when The Bulls were dominating everything? Nobody could beat that team.

  • @rayallen0 suck a dick and have a nice day.

  • @Domini478 nice intellectual response. Oh wait u didn't have one because you aren't very smart. Oh good job you named 90's b-ball player greats. How about Bill Russell? Wilt Chamberlain? Kareem? John Havlicek? Bob Cousy? Magic? Pettit? West? Oscar Robertson? Baylor? Mikan?

  • @rayallen0 once again...suck a dick and have a nice day...when you suck one...you will feel very good...

  • @Domini478 aw i'm sorry you failed middle school.

  • Its sucks that he cant even have his jersey retired now because of okc

  • gary, kevin durant , ray allen, shawn kemp same era what would happen

  • before chris paul, there was gary payton.. scrappiest pg of all time

  • @parkw86 He didn't do shit in the playoffs.

  • i want that snapback!!

  • I can see why they call Mr. Gary Payton "THE GLOVE" MAD RESPECT.

  • bow wow braught me here martians vs goblins biches

  • johnson,kidd,thomas,cousy(payton,nash)

  • Payton is the greatest PG of all time

  • @TheScript206 Are you retarted?? He couldn't lead no team to win a championship.

  • @Domini478 First of all you need to learn how to spell and compose sentences properly if you're going to try to call someone "retarded". Second of all The Glove is the greatest PG.

You don't like my opinion? Fuck off and quit trolling.

  • @TheScript206 The greatest led teams to championships consistency and he win a lot of them. Gary didn't do either. He won his only title as a role player on the Heat. He couldn't win one when he was the leader of the team because he wasn't good enough. Ole dumbass!

  • @Domini478 damn you're illiterate.

So according to your thinking: Pete Maravich, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone and John Stockton aren't greats? You are fucking retarded.

  • @TheScript206 Maravich, Ewing, Malone, and Stockton were great players but they aren't elite players. Elite players are Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Kobe. Elite players wins championships and that something Gary couldn't do as a leader.

  • @Domini478 Kobe isn't an elite. He WAS good, but not great. And yea, greats win championships, but greats also can be unfortunate. Ewing and all of them are elite. You cant say they weren't just because the rest of their team were just average. They DOMINATED against any other player to try and play against them. And GP didnt win a championship cause the Sonics played the GREATEST FUCKING TEAM OF ALL TIME when they had the chance to.

  • @TheScript206 Yes he is...Kobe is 6th on the all time scoring list. He will be the all time scorer leader when it all said and done. He had won two without Shaq and he could be better than MJ. Other than 1996, the Sonics have never played in the western conference finals. They choke every year in the playoffs.

  • @Domini478 you obviously don't know basketball if you're saying Kobe could be better than Jordan. And you know why Kobe is so high on the scoring list? It's cause for many years he was the only player the Lakers relied on. He was a ball hog.

And the Sonics have played in the finals 3 times. At least do research if you are going to try and talk about something.

  • @TheScript206 You could say anybody that is top 10 on the all time scoring list was a ballhog. I am talking about the Payton and Kemp's years. They had played in one western conference final in their whole career with the Sonics.

  • @Domini478 you do know that the western conference was a strong conference?

  • @TheScript206 Kobe is obviously a great. Anybody who denies it is most likely one of those people stuck in the 90's or just a kobe hater. And the other guy just came in here to get angry reactions.

  • @TheScript206 Kobe WAS 'good'. tsk tsk tsk someone's living in the past bringing up 'did nothing' Ewing

  • @Domini478 WTF are you talking about? Payton drained the winning shot during the Heat's 2006 championship run. Get your facts straight before talking shit.

  • @Domini478: What do you mean he wasn't good enough? You are one dumb sonofabitch. Yeah, he wasn't as good as the greatest player of all time on the greatest team of all time. But he was the second most dominant player in the league for a good period of time. What would have happened if Seattle didn't trade Pippen to Chicago? Jordan wouldn't have been able to will himself to a championship all by himself. It's not a one player sport dumbass.

  • @Ydefinity If he was dominating...why he couldn't barely go past the 1st round through his whole career...

  • @Domini478 for the same fucking reasons he just said dumbass

  • @jxnliv Suck a dick bitch! Gary was not doing shit in the playoffs.

  • @Domini478 he went to the finals in 96. in the playoffs he was more of a play maker and defensive player.

  • @roll451 He went to the finals one time as a Sonic and that ain't shit!

  • @Domini478 Lets see running into Karl malone, john stockton, David robinson, Hakeem, Run TMC, Charles And KJ, Mount Mutombo every year. yeah he sucks.

  • @roll451 Excuses! He didn't do shit in the playoffs.

  • @Domini478 So i guess Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, and John stockton, Clyde Drexler(won his championship past prime) SUCK huh.

  • @roll451 They don't suck but they didn't win no titles. Clyde won a title because of Hakeem!

  • @Domini478 Exactly. That's my point. Clyde was "getting" past prime , and Gary Payton won his past prime. SO i dont get what your trying to say. You want a POINT GUARD IN THE 90's to WIN YOU A CHAMPIONSHIP?

  • @Domini478 oh you like southern mainstream hip hop. never mind. not talking with a smart person here. One who doesn't understand teams win championships not players.

  • @Domini478 and not to mention he runs into MJ in the finals(which nobody ever beated) and does good defensive work on him.

  • @roll451 Top 31 all time on my list. So hes ONLY "GOOD". One of greatest players to play.

  • @roll451 He got to lead a team to a championship and he couldn't do that.

  • Payton was a scoring/ defending PG and its unfair to think that he isnt top 5 PGs off all time. A.I wasnt a point Guard lol, watch Basketball for commenting people

  • Johnson, Stockton, A.I, Nash, Payton

  • @iMerkzilla A.I is not a PG.

  • nice. highlight ends with MJ winning the championship.

  • @sparkymike83 gotta show the end of the run.

  • gary payton...the most ghetto player of all-time

  • e o david stern ainda sem o cabelo totalmente branco kkkkkkkkkk

  • gary payton novinho ali kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • The legacy? Haha, what legacy? Perhaps it was his championship with SHAQ and WADE, but then you would have to say Walker has a legacy as well and we all know that's BS. Payton has no legacy.

  • Comment removed

  • @BigTimePride You're an ignoramus. Anybody who dominates in their sport for over a decade, is among the top 5 at their position for all or most of that decade, damn well has a legacy. You fast food, ESPN-fed kiddies have no clue. All you know is titles. So, does Dickey Simpkins have a legacy? Jud Buechler? Moron! Walker has one, too. How about 5 seasons of 20+ pt.s, 8 of 8+ boards? All-American & NCAA champ, starter on a NBA title team? They don't win w/o him. Watch those playoffs again, jr.

  • @BigTimePride You think Pat Riley didn't know what he was doing when He got guys like Payton & Walker? Those sacrificed for a title. They were used to being the offensive focus in their prime. Walker was their 3rd leading scorer, but did it avg. only about 26 min. a game during the season, as he split time w/ Posey. Payton also has a legacy as one of the best defensive guards of his time.

  • @Ldale11 Sure Payton was a good player, however he doesn't have a legacy. His defense was good but he wasn't even the best defender of his era and certainly not good enough to have a legacy. Magic, Bird, MJ, Russell etc...those players have legacies.

  • @BigTimePride Payton has a a legacy. He's one of the best point guards of all time and one of the most complete all around players of all time. He might not be at the Jordan, Bird, Magic level, but the man could hold his own against any point guard today. Legacies are mostly media driven PR hype, anyway. Gary Payton tears shit up.

  • Lol...Players In The NBA Cant Even Play The Game Like GP Anymore, They Would Be Be Ejected,Fined,And Suspended.......Smh. Divas In Todays NBA

  • Forget important things like defense. Best Alley Ooop passer ever. Argue that lol...

  • who is the top pick that year?

  • @HeAiNtMaN Derrick Coleman. He was a 20 & 10 guy for several seasons, but injured a good bit.

  • is he right or left handed? aha cuz he does everything soo well with both hands! straight beastin it

  • The Bill Russell of Point Guards. only him (and Magic literally) played like Centers at the Point Guard position. Because for a long time the best players in the NBA were Centers, and he grew up idolizing those Centers. at a time when guard play was becoming rampant and the best player on your team was a guard. He threw em' a curve ball ,because how guards can guard a center in the post or even post-up.Payton could so when he came into the league other guards didn't know how to handle him

  • GP didn't start/play in the finals until about game 4. I believe Seattle could've won that year if he played those first three games.

  • @MrJayChhun Gary did play in the NBA Finals dumbass. He had started every game.

  • @Domini478 /watch?v=s9ryMgGogyo Watch that interview and prove me wrong. If you can't back up your info, don't respond.

  • @MrJayChhun Dumbass, he had said that he didn't guard MJ until game 4.

  • at least he'll retire in a champion =].... he looked better in a heat uniform

  • top 6 best PGs to EVER play the game ! and yes payton was the best defensive of all time.

    1.Magic 2.Oscar 3.Thomas 4.Payton 5.Stockton

  • lol id love to play against him

  • didnt this guy lose to jamie foxx? lol

  • I REALLY miss watching Gary Payton ( Jason Kidd in his prime as well )... the 90's was the best time for NBA Basketball

  • gary payton is what rondo whats to be like

  • i miss the sonics so much right now... this video brings back so many good memories. i want a new seattle team. we deserve one.

  • @2sikkidz Does Seattle still have the rights to the name Supersonics, the colors, and history? I hope yall do...moving the team to OKC was some chump shit...hope the sonics return someday...too much history with that team to not have them return again.

  • @DDIISSEE we have the rights to the name and also the colors. but i don't know about the history. pretty much our city officials screwed us over.

  • @2sikkidz I know we don't own the championship banners, retired jerseys, and the '79 championship trophy. That is our history.

  • @MrJayChhun that's wack. i know GP didn't want his number to be retired because of the relocation. but they have all of our records i guess. after the thunder won their series against the nuggets, they congratulated them on their first playoff series victory since 2005. that was the sonics last playoff series victory...

  • @DDIISSEE Bennett (OKC's owner) own the rights to the name, the retired jerseys, and even the 1979 championship cup. So even if Seattle gets another team, they just wont be the Seattle Supersonics and we'd have to start from scratch.

  • @MrJayChhun wow...thats terrible. If Seattle gets a team Clay needs to give all that shit up back to Seattle. Im from the LA area and I couldn't imagine the Lakeshow getting stolen from us like that. Good luck to yall gettin the team back...GP and Kemp deserve to have their jersey in the rafters IN SEATTLE....

  • @DDIISSEE Nevermind, correcting myself, we also have the rights to the name. Just not the Championship banners, retired Jerseys, and the 1979 trophy we won. You should watch "Sonicsgate" when you have two hours to spare. VERY good documentary.

  • I love Payton's post game.

  • Prime VS Prime, Gary Payton would destroy Steve Nash.

  • is there any chance to see sonics again in nba?

  • i want that draft hat they gave him

  • Comment removed

  • What a song from 2:35 ?

  • greatest defending point guard of all time

  • I miss my super sonics :(

  • At least Oklahoma City will never have Gary Payton

  • I loved gorwin gup inseattle in the 90s, watching the Glove every night was awesome....his defense was so frickin lockdown!!!

  • Gary Payton it's my favorite basketball player of all times to...NBA aint the same without the Sonics :(

  • @2:12 Kevin Callabro GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY!!!! ohhh i miss seattle and kevin and gp

  • Gyeah oregon state!!!

  • john wall will be the next gary payton

  • Gary Payton is one of the top 5 Offensive/Defensive Point guards in history...Along with Magic, Stockton, Iverson, and Cousy.

  • @MrSlik25 Are you stupid??? Magic, Stockton, or Iverson never made all defensive teams

  • @Domini478 Are you stupid..??? I said "Offensive" / Defensive Guards You moron...All the overly defensive guards you are thinking about didnt have any offensive ability to compliment like the ones i named dick...Jerry West didnt play D....Mo Cheeks couldnt score...Tiny Archibald was just that Tiny...like your pee pee you no basketball knowledge havein mothafucka get a life and get off my dick and my youtube comments..dam lame.

  • can anyone tell me what ever happened to the sonics!? why did they just disappear?

  • @BESTMATES10YEARS The franchise moved cities and become the Oklahoma City Thunder

  • @08KingScott nope it was STOLEN by that fruit clay bennet, also known as the devil, haha. And no it had nothing to do with the fans for all you assclown "thunder" fans out ther. goodness how wrong was that man. And another thing Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, Lenny Wilkens, "Downtown" Freddy Brown, Jack Sikma, Gus Williams, Spencer Haywood, Nate McMillan, the 1979 championship trophy and rest of Seattle Supersonics history will always belong to the city of Seattle and no one else. i miss K. Calabro!

  • Payton/kemp were more spectacular than stockton/malone

  • One of the best, if not, the best PG of the 90's.

  • whos the attacker at 1:55 ??

  • all time trash talkers list

  • the sonics tryed putting payton on jordan do u think the jazz whould ever think of putting STOCKTON. on jordan hell no

  • @dangerousjo123

GP is 6'4 and was quite a bit younger than Stockton at the time. Stockton had the quickness, but not the size. Russell did a good job, considering. GP didn't come close to shutting down MJ either though. MJ was lucky, he only faced a top-flight 2 once in the finals(CD)

  • @klined your 100 % right but i dont think gp or anyone chould ever shut down jordan and we have to keep in mind that gp was more quicker the stockton with more wepones but stockton had a outstanding jumper and very great court IQ and he was one of the best passers to ever do it

  • Gary Payton: The Legacy Of A Punk Who Was Never As Good As STOCKTON.

  • @ZZAAN84

He was better and more dynamic, but Malone is a heck of a lot better than Kemp.

  • @ZZAAN84 Is that supposed to be an insult? That's like bashing Shaq for not being as good as Olajuwon. They're both great HOFers, why shit on the other one?

  • @CoolerKing37 - ................drink Bud Dry.

  • THE GLOVE !

  • i miss my sonics..

  • um is this a gary payton hiite filnm or a shawn kemp highlight reel??

  • Did the play at 3:25 occur in the 1990's or did it really happen in 2006? LOL

  • @Snoopydude13 was that serious question

  • I make NBA Mixes with so much passion but noone watches them...could anyone in here give me a comment at least?

  • @KingKoltAir for sure dude. i like that u enjoy basketball like me.

  • GP is the best point guard of all-time.

  • I want to know why G and Kidd don't do more for the city where they grew up? So they moved. Maybe they do a lot where they live, all I can say is they can do more. Time to do for the city that they came from. Bill Russel, Frank Robinson, and all the elite, come home and make a stand. Choose Oakland,; all of you make a stand against social ills that plague the place you're from.Concentrate your efforts. Everyone else go home and do the same.

  • steve Nash is way better than Gary Payton

  • @TheHNIC88

now he is but no back then

  • @TheHNIC88 haha. one-on-one he would beat nash everytime. that's what a nine time 1st defender does against a guy who's never been on a defensive team

  • @jonvegard31 lol black people love bring racist like yourself

  • @TheHNIC88 okay, i don't know what you're saying...do you think i'm black or do you think i hate black people? if so, i prooobably wouldn't be watching nba

  • @TheHNIC88 what!? that's even an answer

  • @TheHNIC88 Sorry but steve nash is not better than The Glove

  • @PANTERAcfhGETCHAPULL AGREED, anybody who thinks that nash is better than GP is down right ignorant. gary could pass, score, rebound and was quite possibly the best defensive guard to ever play the game, the dude could shut down any guard, including His Airness. and the glove would even beat you up in the post. TERRIFFIC all-around game

  • @PANTERAcfhGETCHAPULL steve nash is better than payton!!! 2 time mvp mothasucka

  • @PANTERAcfhGETCHAPULL Did you see what he did at 2:46 that's insane can't say I've seen Nash do that...

  • @dantewaters That was just complete skill!

  • @PANTERAcfhGETCHAPULL i hope thats wasnt even ever seriously a aomparison lol...206!!!

  • @PANTERAcfhGETCHAPULL John Stockton > Jason Kidd > Nash > Payton. But Payton still ranks up there with the greats.

  • I miss Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp and the sonic back in the early to mid 90's. I still have Sonic gear. aahhhh the memories.

  • Derrick Coleman went #1 that year ... What a waste of talent. For all you young cats who don't know him, imagine Rasheed Wallace with better stats. Like Rasheed if he had the heart of Shaq, Barkley, MJ, Kobe, Bird etc.. He would've been the best power forward of all time.

  • Got to lurv The Glove!!!!!

  • What song is this from the minute 5:00?

  • @L28A01D95L

try "clash of arms" by x-ray dog

  • @skurryaway I think the song he wants to know is "requiem for a dream".

  • @L28A01D95L Look up Lux Aeterna.

  • @L28A01D95L the song at 5 minutes is called Luxeaterna...Its by Clint Mansell...from the movie Requeim for a Dream
