You know we're talking about narcotics here. Elliot Ingber, Napoleon Murphy Brock, and Lowell George, for instance, were all firedat different times by Zappa for drug use during their tenures with him. He didn't tolerate that. He wanted his musicians to be quick and sharp.

Again, this is an amazing piece of footage. And even though it's Zappa project, it's Bruce Bickford's work. You can like it or you can hate it, but you'd be lying to yourself to deny the craftsmanship that went into it. Addled with drugs, one couldn't possibly execute something so complex.

Why do people think if someone is creative and imaginative, they have to be on drugs?

I look at it as the "sour grapes" argument: "I can't reach those grapes; they're probably sour anyway. People who scapegoat FZ as a "druggie" simply have no imagination, and are more often than not demonstrably not very bright. It goes over their head, so they rationalize it as the musings of a drug-addled mind, which is 100% false. He was completely anti-drugs.

This movie is a trip! first time i saw it was in 92... on acid. I puked at the part with the blow up doll as well as the part where the dudes head turns into a hamburger then as a burger, turns to the guy next to him and bites off half of his head! haha. Zappa is the king of weird!!!
