  • Bruner's usual stellar stuff. so on point.

  • this whole thing just comes across as arrogant..

  • @idektron Why? Cause this badass drummer is playing in Black and White or that he is wearing sun glasses which r to be worn only at what certain times?

  • @ntrakit6 i'll go with the sun glasses.

  • @idektron Pardon me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Brian Frazier Moore wear sunglasses when he plays? I doubt he's arrogant either, just something some people wanna do.

  • Cool Mother of a Player...

  • Tony royster sucks!

  • please stop noise ronald

  • @ivanbagual If Ronald stops noise, then the rest of band stops noise, and I happen to like the sound of this noise, makes me sad when noise stops.

  • less is more..

  • @adebicki and you don't think Ronald knows that? A musician must have a solid foundation in order to play the stuff anyone at Ron's level can play. George and other artists he plays with gives him the freedom to "play busy" check out him playing with Chaka Khan on "Take the A train" or him live performing with Flying Lotus with his brother Stephen Bruner he keeps it straight pocket.

  • @Moog167 actually he doesn't really....when they trade on a train everyone gets fucked up because of the silly shit ron tries to play

  • @flipadiddle loloololol thats just one small thing though....silly huh Psssshhhhh if it was he wouldn't have the gig with George Duke or Stanley Clarke. Anyways everybody seems solid when he comes back in and you can tell he was given the freedom to play like that.

One more thing Ron sounds completely different during studio recordings but when he's live he plays like it's his last day on Earth which I admire about him. You don't have to like it but I think his playing is fine.

  • all these cats owe it all to Billy Cobham the master who combined chops and flash ,style the full package .

  • this is definitely a entertaining style of play, but I can't help but feel a tighter, simpler groove would have sufficed.

  • I hear a lot of Billy Cobham in that:, with an occasional flavour of Tony Williams and Dennis Chambers interspersed.

He's going to develop into his very own uniqueness.

  • @rklionel2 I am glad you said that. Billy for whatever reason is vastly overlooked in this era of mighty techinicans of the drumkit. He was the first to combine the power, speed, articulation, funkiness, in a jazzy format. Cobham is a giant. Drumming should remember Buddy, Max, Tony Williams, Elvin, Billy Cobham, Bonham, Peart, Gadd, Weckl, and then Vinnie. Game changers. All those guys were the major stepping stones. It's all academic anyways and I am sure this will cause an argument.

  • i was hem the day before yesterday at a clinic. this guy is killer.

  • why all of these drug references?

I saw this cat earlier this year with Stanley Clarke and Hiromi...easily the most awesome drummer I've seen ...maybe ever.

his fusion is Cobham...his new fusion is Chambers...his swing is some unholy combination of Blakely and Elvin Jones...his funk is well...everybody else!!!!!!

  • What is the name of this song?

  • @Imanpan Milestone. by Miles Davis.

  • oleo

  • Ron's talent is intimidating.

  • Fusion "Milestones" I like it.

  • damn.. great drummer

  • THAT DUDE IS A BEAST!!! I was trying to count his reps and revs and counter counts... he wouldve burned out some of these drummers today...wow. I hope he's clean and sober doing those chops and runs. Thanks brodstar for this post...peace

  • @geraldfer is ronald bruner jr. a drug addict or somethin?

  • Damn,i went to a Duke concert yesterday expecting to see bruner there, but instead,Gorden Campbell was playin... Just cant wait to see bruner live!

    (Dukes concert is freaking amazing!!)

  • so is this jazz fusion music?? .. please dont give me a thumbs down or up cos i wont see that! lol

  • 0ne 0f my fav0rite key player: ge0rge duke! and 0ne 0f the best drummer in the world: R0NALD BRUNER JR. drum almighty!!!!

  • @highlightmaterial Why are you typing like that?

  • he looks bored

  • its the glasses brah

  • @Thamaddrumma haha, yeah. He looks like he's chilling.

  • I like brunner but i think he got an eg on him or it may just be his personality, i'm think about it wouldn't u be the kanye west of drumming if u knew it would get u paid?

  • Before what?

  • he's over hyped. he was way better before

  • Sorry...I was saying he "barely" lost his stick haha

  • "cocaine is a helluva drug..." - rick james

  • may be your just right...

  • just wow

  • lindo!!!

  • :14 to :16 was just incredible, intricate and tasty snare work!

  • FUSION OLEO HAHAHAHA AWESOME

  • He is like my favorite drummer.....

  • He's human, he almost lost his stick at 3:17. LOL

  • he loses his stick

  • But he still kills....

  • barely

  • Not Barley......I've seen Ron crack sticks throw them in the air then get a new pair without messing up the flow.....
