You did also miss the Street Fighter II on the Game Boy/Super Game Boy. I think it's closer to the NES version tho. Only 2 buttons, punch & kick. Not too bad.
I honestly don't get the differences between the arcade versions of Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting and Street Fighter II Turbo Hyper Fighting considering both were just the same game. Not only the TG-16 version but you're missing the arcade version of SFII: Rainbow Edition and the SMS version of SFII Dash. Don't worry about the Game Boy version though as that game was a port of Super SF2 and not SF2 though it use the SF2 name.
@blueswan1984 I know I'm missing some intros from different versions but I'm going to keep it as it is. They're just various intros and IMO some intros in the video are the most common seen.
@Nubecuube It'sthe other way around actually. You would know this by seeing when M. Bison gets selected in the Turbo Hyper Fighting intro that he's name is Vega which is his Japanese name.
@blueswan1984 The Turbo Hyper Fighting game was the Japanese intro for Hyper Fighting. On the character select screen, you would notice that when M. Bison is selected, he is called Vega, his Japanese name. The Street Fighter II Dash Plus game isthe Japanese title for Special Champion Edition on the Mega Drive/Genesis.
@artrocker65 In a way yeah but it's a pirate. In fact, what I know so far, it was played in Russia and maybe in China in a NES clone console probably around the 90's.
@WuAgent That's because the Genesis' main sound chip (Yamaha YM2612) is quite similar to the one used by the CPS-1 (Yamaha YM2151). They're both FM synth chips, while the SNES music is sample based.
I think it was odd for Guile to be played by Jean-Claude Van Damme when it really should have gone to someone like Dolph Lundgren, IMO. Ya know, someone who is a natural blonde and a lil taller.
That would be the beta of the Sega Genesis version. I've heard it said that Japanese players sometimes call Street Fighter "ST". Here in the states, we use that to denote Super Street Fighter II Turbo ("Super Turbo"). Don't know if it has any bearing on that title screen, but there you go.
@NERDstarXD No, SF 4 is set between SFII and SF III, SF 4 takes place several months after SF II. Japanese people like to explain what happened when there are plot holes, but instead of a different title they choose to add the very next number, like in this, maybe street fighter 5 will be set after SF III, or maybe after SF 4 and SF III, only capcomproducers know that.
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you
I miss the sound bites when Ken and Ryu were soooo passionate and angry yelling their moves. They sounded like Rand B singers when they said Hadouken.lol
@FuccThatShitNigga yea but u know how they do poor guy i know he wanted to give him a beating of his life after all those punches on each upcomeing arcade systems lol
i remember watching these demos as a teenager at a local arcade while watching people play and waiting for my turn. sf2 was an incredibly HOT arcade game. you would have had to have been there to understand. and yes console ports are crap. the arcade sprites, animation, color, and fluidness in gameplay is far superior
@scir91 Its a shame people nowadays won't ever get to experience what you're talking about. Things like that will probably never happen again since arcades are dead now. That feeling people got waiting at the arcade and watching the fights while others are cheering on are things of the past now (except for a few arcades still around, though it isn't the same anymore.)
@JuiKuen Sometimes I leave my modded PSP on with my CPS arcade emulator and leave a random Capcom fighting game like SF2 on and running on my desk, just for the nostalgia used to feel walking around an arcade and watching a match while an arcade cabinet next to me is cycling through the demo. >_> I really do miss those days haha
@YAAAAmedia It's because it's the Japanese version. Vega (the Spanish Ninja) is Balrog. M. Bison (the Dicatator) is Vega and Balrog (the Boxer) is Mike Bison. @DalekSam when the ref said round one fight, the ref actually found a butt of a ciggy and said "Found One. GOT A LIGHT?!" so the white guy lost by default
ppl will argue all day about which version of SF2 is better, SNES or Megadrive(genesis). imo i prefer sega's version becos the gameplay is superior (faster), it has the arcade like intro, it has better music that sounds more upbeat and i also prefer the pad as im not ambidextrious. But lots of ppl do prefer SNES becos it was more popular back then, but at the time i prefered Sega's megadrive.
Street Fighter II - Special Champion Edition isn't on there? Unless that's Street Fighter II - Plus Champion Edition?!? That's the only intro that looks similar, or pretty much identical to me!
Street Fighter II - Special Champion Edition was the best ever version of the game I reckon!
It was perfect for the 6 button Megadrive / Genesis pad, plus the "Hyper" version was basically the same as "Turbo", where Ryu & Ken could do the 'upper air spinning kick' move!
i wish they would put street fighter ll turbo hyper fighting on psn.

LMFAO! The first few seconds had me cracking up. If a video game intro these days had started like that, people would be crying "RACISM!!!!"

The black guy had a choice to fight. He did, and lost.
Poor fellow.

@DalekSam when the ref said round one fight, the ref actually found a butt of a ciggy and said "Found One. GOT A LIGHT?!" so the white guy lost by default

id have to say i always preferred Super Street Figter 2 for SNES
...that game was jam packed and addictive
TookYerJob1 2 years ago
ppl will argue all day about which version of SF2 is better, SNES or Megadrive(genesis). imo i prefer sega's version becos the gameplay is superior (faster), it has the arcade like intro, it has better music that sounds more upbeat and i also prefer the pad as im not ambidextrious. But lots of ppl do prefer SNES becos it was more popular back then, but at the time i prefered Sega's megadrive.

They really redesigned the white dude in the Genesis' Special Champion Edition. Wonder why they didn't keep this in the later releases...

Does anyone know of any others?
