the percussion groove is not solid, and it is the engine to the whole piece. I played the conga and xylophone parts and it is a very Important part that everyone is together. also the tempo is all over the place. other then that, it sounded alright.

Nice job on the piece, it could still be better in some areas like the trumpet solo, it could be cleaner, and around the end where the trombones have the solo thing then the low brass come in doing the same thing then the trumpets then the flutes into the last section of the piece . i thought it was supposed to be syncopated unless you have a different arrangement of the piece. Good job =D
This song was commisioned by my high school band, John T. Hoggard in 1982. We premiered it at the NC music educators conference with Robert Washburn guest conducting. Brings back great memories...thanks for posting.
btw..the shaker part was off. and he didn't play his solo. :] i would know because i play that part and i h ave the music in front of me. ^__^ just saying. but it was good. work. hopefully our spring concert goes well.
