  • @Potionette81 its pretty uncommon, but it is possible.

  • this was before animal cruelty laws, I presume

  • Hang on, ginger cats are never female; its the way the genetics work!

  • @Potionette81 I had a female ginger cat, so I can assure you that isn't true. It's uncommon for sure, but not impossible.

  • cat haters probably loved watching her fall down and nearly die.

  • @Wellch I know what you mean. There are people in my neighborhood that actually enjoy placing poisonous bait in traps at night with the complete certainty that it will attract mommy cats with a litter to attend to. That action only deprives defenseless living beings of their mother, giving them very little chance to survive on their own in the wild. Stop the animal cruelty!

  • @portinaribe Report those evil people at once! Every person counts. Animal lovers need to do the right thing.

  • @KellyGreen5555 I have reported those people several times. Thank you for reminding me that every person doing the right thing counts. I won't desist."The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Mahatma Gandhi

  • @portinaribe The Gandhi quote is a personal fave, thanks for posting. It's why I have a major problem with China and the people that allow the Chinese Fur Trade (which is evil incarnate)

Here is another quote that I love (Edmund Burke): "All evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing."

  • @KellyGreen5555 Your response is very much appreciated. :)

  • wtf

  • Hi Could any one of you subtitle this movie in English, please? it would be so wonderful,..coz it is hard for me to understand and hear this English accent. I will be waiting for eng subtitle and then i will watch it..! pls.

  • @AngelDemonFavourite It is in English. Perhaps you should use English too...pls >_>

  • @AngelDemonFavourite I speak English as a second language and I had no trouble understanding it -_-

  • Bast is still scary to me even now. lol

  • I wish i could find the full movie!!! I just found out the name of it today! Lol. I've been wondering for years, and i'm soooo happy i found this!!

I was only about 5 when i first saw it. 15 years has gone by so fast. Lol :D

  • By the way, are the kids playing Mary and the boy with the frog also the Fairbanks siblings in Mary Poppins? :)

Lori sings so beautifully! <3 I also like the actress who provides the voice for Thomasina's thoughts...

  • Ah, childhood...thanks for the upload! :) It's been at least more than ten years since I last saw this scene (and the movie). I've always loved cats and I watched the movie over and over again as a kid. Although the movie and its sadness always had a strong emotional impact on me, it's bizarre how this scene didn't actually bring me to tears until now, seeing it for the first time after so many years....

  • to scary for kids under 13 needs tonned down

  • They should have placed the cat in the tower. I love this film, even though those children have really wierd accents. I'm Scottish and those accents are slightly queer! God bless Thomasina and keep the film continuing to enspire the generations to come! ♥

  • I still dream of Thomasina

  • I have not seen this in 47 years. I really like how the kids got to put on such an authentic, elaborate funeral procession for the kitty, complete with bagpipes and singing. What a privilege they had compared to many other kids who lose beloved animals. Also I love the Bast scene and hope to meet all my dear departed furry lovers there some day.

  • I have not seen this in 47 years. I really like how the kids got to put on such an authentic, elaborate funeral procession for the kitty, complete with bagpipes and singing. What a privilege they had compared to the callous way a lot of people act when their children lose pets. Also I love the Bast scene and hope to meet all my dear departed furry lovers there some day.

  • I also love this movie and I don't think the cast was mistreated. It is a Walt Disney Movie and there is a law against mistreating animals for movies. I saw it in 65! And I still can remember the theme song. I used to play it on the piano.

  • What was the name of the tune played by the bagpipes and the kids singing?

  • The movie was good, very engaging, and theme song just as grand.

  • From early childhood, this was and still is one of my favorite movies. The Bast scene was my favorite scene, but it was cut from TV broadcasts in later years. Thanks so much for preserving it here! After much trying years ago, I finally was able to get the full movie on VHS.

  • I remember watching this film and I don't think I can watch it anymore because I had a cat called 'Mitsy' the cat who was a black and white cat who was born in the early 1990's and died of old age/natural causes in 2009. I don't like to think my dead cat is in Kitty heaven because she isnt! I wanted to freeze 'Mitsy' the cat to stop her from decaying and try and bring her back to life after she died but that probably wouldn't work - my dad didn't let me. I don't really like this film.

  • This was my favorite movie as a child. I begged for it for my 7th birthday. I named my cat Thomasina too! You can rent it on netflix :)

  • I wish someone would put this up on youtube. I would love to watch it again. I loved this movie so much when I was younger (5 or younger I think) Now I am 21 and still remember it and love it. Sad and sweet story.

  • im naming my next cat Thomasina!

  • @KaleidoscopeProject1 Six years ago, we named one of our cats (a black cat) "Thomasina" after this timeless movie! She responds to her name and seems to really like it!

  • LOL! That poor cat, how many times did they throw it in the air to get those opening shots! Still an awesome movie

  • are those the kiddies from Mary Poppins? haha i loved this movie! haven't seen it for about 10 years! good times..

  • @theH0Tone Yes, they are Jane and Michael Banks, played by Karen Dotrice and Matthew Garber.

  • i can only imagine what they had to do to the poor kitty to get the falling cat sequence.

  • i think this movie fucked-up my childhood, lol... i mean look at that CAT GODDESS ... creepy

  • Silly Scene with the Cats! That kid is a brat for not talking to her Father again after the cat died. Thomasina is a self made cat! That's means she's like a God and bring herself back to life. Mary should know Luary is not a witch and she weds her Father. That makes her Mary's Stepmother. And the Scenes where Mary calls for Thomasina in Rainy Nights when she was sick reminds me of The Exorcist!

  • Is this movie anywhere on Youtube in it's entirety?

  • R.I.P. Vincent Winter

  • I'm ordering this movie from Amazon for just pennies. Wonderful memories from childhood!

  • Get that rag off of me! And mind your tongue over the full-tie you git!

  • Mad Lorrie understands medicine and Thomasina.

  • lol this movie is strange

  • for some reasons, I thought the near death experience was almost funny. But I did enjoy the bagpipes being played..obviously by someone other than the little boy.

  • I like this movie. I cried when Thomasina died.

  • i love this movie!!!!

  • I remember seeing this movie on laser disc when I was like 8! It's been a long time... Love the music so much!

  • I remember seeing this movie on Disney's Wonderful World of Color when I was a little kid in the mid-60s and I just loved it! The movie came on the Disney channel 20 years later and tried to get my 4 kids interested in but they wouldn't, so I was very disappointed--they had been surrounded by so many TV channels for too long that something simple like this couldn't hold their attention. Thanks for posting parts of this movie. Brings back great memories!

  • That's sad!!! I wathed this movie as a child... and I absolutely loved it, only about ten years ago... it held my attention!

  • @sonrosado it really is a sweet movie. So dreamy and unusual.

  • @sonrosado haha whats sad and iwatched this ten yrs ago too it was grett!

    \

  • HAHAHAHA!

  • OMG I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE IN AGES!! I really need to watch it again :(

  • I remember this, aww memories... =( goos times though!! =)

  • The one that got me as a tyke was 'Shaggy Dog', when the guys' nose turned black. For some reason............YEEESH!

What I wonder about here is how they araanged for that poor ginger tabby to "fly"!

  • weeeeeeeird

  • Strangest Disney movie ever!

  • hey does anyone remember a movie by Disney called charlie the lonesome cougar? and if so is on here anywhere?

  • The actor at 3:14, Finlay Currie, played Balthasar, one of the three Magi, in "Ben-Hur" (1959).

  • and councillor duxbury in "billy liar" and magwitch in "great expectations"

  • Ah thank you so much, I've been searching everywhere for the title of the movie, and this clip. <3

  • I like the scene with Thomasina and all of the siamese cats in cat heaven.

  • for some reason that scence scared the hell out of me when i was a kid xD

  • scene*

  • Yeah it was weird wasn't it. I was about 8 or so when I first saw this movie and I remember being creeped out by all of those cats.

  • Yeah, because to a little kid, we don't know wtf Bast the cat goddess is, lol. It looks like a kitty hell, with all the darkness and fiery glow and siamese cats whining in what sounds like agony and all. I finally figured out what movie it was with a cat that died and went to some scary afterlife that scarred me so much as a child, lol.

  • omg me too! that scene was terrifying!

  • the one where the kids are singing in a circle at the funeral is Bonnie Banks of Loch Lommand

  • What is that song?

  • Lament by machentosh

  • @UKPhotog4581 =

    Macintosh's Lament

  • I love this movie! Could you post more scenes?
