I actually do believe their love is genuine, but under other circumstances it may not have been the same. The two argue between themselves that the business of everyday life makes for mundane activities. These activities are completely absent in their night together. Not only do they have no plans for what they encounter, but they have an innocence in their demeanour. If each and everyone of us were spontaneous on a regular basis, maybe true love would have better success in finding us.

I think that innocence you mentioned lies in their curiosity for each other. It's like a long-exhaled restraint. I like to see spontaneity defended :) Of course we all are not completely free of reality and conformity, but full-time dreaming is just outside some people's control, especially the passionate, artistic mind.

Great movie, no doubt. A true classic. Because it's so good I saw it more than once or twice, and then I realized something: go to 7:49 and see how Delpy's left arm is clutching Hawk's left arm. Cut, and on to the continuation of this scene at 7:50, and... voila! Now her right arm is holding his left. In short, a continuity f*@#ck up. Nevertheless, a fantastic movie. And I don't think they went at it after all.

If I met Jesse on a train, I'd ssssooo wanna go with him, but I'd be scared that I might have been wrong, and I'd never want something to happen to me for the sake of the ppl around me. But isn't that sad? That because of society - rape and crime- we lose faith and trust in ppl and restrict our spontaneity.
