Of course its counted the kick was there and the ball clearly went through from the kick so the goal clearly and fairly stands,Go catters from a Blueboy.

Mr n6901875 is quite right about that rule .the St Kilda defenders should have made an attempt to block it and who knows..it may have a million to one longshot but they may have got a lucky free (a la Milburn)at theother end to kick a premiership winning goal.

The player walked off the mark, as long as the ball goes through the goals it doesnt matter if you kick it along the ground.

both teams should of have alot of free kicks in the 2nd half but as the commentators said.. the umpires are doing the right thing and not deciding the outcome of the most important game of the year.

Blame the umpires good one... What was the Kozzie free for in the last 90secs? Blame the Saints, not the umpires, especially their princess of a captain who did nothing all day. And do you leave Chappie or Ablett unguarded in the last couple of minutes? The Cats are the better team. GO CATS!

@thesatchdog shut up u idiot, u know absolutely nothing about our captain nick riewoldt, all day he had more than one person playing on him so it was very difficult for him to be able to even touch the footy because of the stupid geelong players that were playing on him, dont u dare judge the saints for what they did on that day because they madefans proud even if they didnt win. the important thing is that we got there and we certaintly turned up and we will turn up this year as well and win!!!

There were plenty of frees not paid in the last half which was good for both sides unlike the first half when the Saints were given the majority.

ST KILDA are likely to get better and believe it or not GEELONG is likely to get better..Hawkins will get better, Mackie is improving every season...Josh Hunt to return..Bartel, Ablett, Stokes, Johnson, Kelly and Taylor still in their mid twenties..Sellwood and Varcoe in their early twenties...providing they have the hunger again and limited injuries a return meeting with the SAINTS is highly likely..the DOGS..possibly but it smacks of desperation chasing Hall.

Do not agree at all ,stuff the Saints they were not good enough and that's all there is to it ,they really had big heads about themselves through the whole year and Geelong just went about their business as usual .

poor st kilda :( those easy misses in the 1st half .. put them as goals .. 6 goal lead in a grand final .. but it just goes to show there is a challenger to geelong and i can't wait till next year because i think st kilda will be impossible to defeat next year..they were gallant and at times looked like they could cope with everything geelong threw at them..but geelong wasted chances in 08..st kilda the same in 09 and we all know what geelong did the year after ..SAINTS FOR 2010 PREMIERSHIP WOO!
