Always such a badass atmosphere in the Soviet Union. They may have fallen behind in other technology except weapons, rocketry and space flight systems, but they definitely had a way better looking flag, coat of arms and other national emblem stuff than other countries. Plus the unforgettable national anthem, the best and most majestic national anthem ever.

It was quite amazing indeed! I was in my mid-20's when it happened. I followed the USSR since I was 10. I never dreamed the USSR would break up. It was like a miracle from God. But sometimes I think the USA might wind up the same way.

This was a total disaster for all the people. They were giddy for a few weeks, then their lives turned to crap, the economy dead, people living on the streets, and rampant crime. The freedom came with a massive price. The largest of that, is letting the USA go do whatever it wants, and now we are in the current world which is a mess.
