  • It wasn't a wizard as the first boss battle, it was supposed to represent the witch from Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs in her old hag form. And the flower garden is because of the difference between the USA and Japanese versions. In the USA version, they added more disney characters/villians, whereas in the Japanese version, this was a pure Alice in Wonderland game, with Captain Hook (odd), which would explain the flower garden and the talking door.

  • I remember playing this as a kid.

  • Man, I think this may have been the first game that taught me how important game design really is. I was spoiled by gaming awesomeness with Super Mario, Castlevania and Mega Man. Then one day my dad rented this for me and my sister. We played for about twenty minutes, and I was just overly disgusted with the whole "Minnie being an extended part of your ass" concept. I'll never forget my reaction to this game. A truly horrid piece of my childhood. It made me appreciate good games though.

  • Yeah, this game was developed by Hudson Soft, but published by Capcom. Compare this game side by side to Adventure Island and you'll see many similarities, like the fairy that makes you invincible.

  • This is probably mentioned before but this game is developed by Hudson not Capcom. Otherwise a good review. Also the enemys and Bosses are different in the Japanes version.

  • I remember that I had this hack with bosses from Alice in Wonderland:)

  • It's funny how Mickey always says: "MINNIE!" at the begining of each level. It's like he's saying: "Minnie! Move it you bitch!"

  • this game was awesome playing with my brother

  • Capcom didn't actually make this game. It was made by Hudson Soft. It was just published by Capcom.

  • @animegamingdude oh wait. Someone already made a comment about that. Another stupid moment of mine. :P

  • 5:45 I think that's the witch from Snow White

  • 9:15

*GASP* There's that start sign! I guess I better go shoot the same tree that I know didn't do anything the first time! Maybe there's a glitch in the matrix! (shoots the tree) ***GASP*** THERE'S A GLITCH IN THE MATRIX!!!!!

  • Your mystery friend has been kidnapped by ninjas! Are you a bad enough mouse to rescue him?

  • minnie disliked this video

  • I think that by "mystery friend," they mean that the friend is a mystery to the player, not to the characters.

  • Damn, that was quite a rant about the season portion. I'm gonna need pen and paper to get through that.

  • 7:35 is that Toad from the Super Mario games? sure looks like it

  • In the words of Gary Oldman " I haven't got time for this Mickey Mouse bullshit!" well actually Mickey Mousecapade was not too bad of game, not the best but not bad

  • Hmm... Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter... Kirby's superstar anyone?

  • Those games review.

  • Hey, some info for this game! actually there were two of them!

Here is the second to be released (on 1988).

A year earlier in 1987 the first game was relased named just plain "Mickey Mouse"; It was the original game and it was pretty much identical to the second except the shooting stars were big fat dots and the enemies were mostly diffrent (skins i guess). Actually i call the first game by the nick name:Mickey Mouse in WonderLand because many of the original enemies were WonderLand characters.

  • I remember my parents buying me this game when I was 6. Thought the game kind of sucks, it holds tremendous sentimental value to me. I beat it several times, and always felt a sense of accomplishment afterward.

  • Your playing this on an emulator for PC? I can tell because of the occasional graphics glitches, heheh.

  • You just blew my mind. F@#k the forest.

  • that forest level ruined my childhood

  • @PlagiaristGamer No advertising here please.

  • OMG, I loved this game so much as a kid. I must have played it a million times. Loved every minute of it.

  • @bottleovodka me too, me too :D

  • Man, this game used to scare the bajeezus out of me when I was little. I don't know why, but those fake Minnie statues always freaked me out.

I was a strange child... XD

  • The orange snake, the boss of the Woods level, looks like Kaa the snake from "The Jungle Book" and those rings that he shoots must be those hypnotic rays that he does in the movie.

  • I mostly agree with the reviewer about the forgettable music, except I do think the Pirate Ship music is pretty cool.

  • I though I saw a graphic from Puss'n Boots at 2:59.The one that looked like a piece of crap.

  • Man this brings back in the day

  • I remember playing this a long time ago, could never get to finish the last level. That alligator boss was annoying, dodging the bouncing bubbles was too hard.

  • your rewievs would be better if you were a bit more angrier like game dude is.

  • @DocNintendo I think the review is better because he doesn't get furious about this. And Game Dude is crummy. Aqualung comes across as a person, Gamedude just sounds like he's reading cue cards that someone wrote in another language.

  • that music in the start is great :)

  • Ahaha, this was so funny. I remember having to draw a map of sorts and keep notes while my sister played the woods level!

  • That's so funny

  • OMG, I was looking this game for a long time.

  • I must say that this was THE single most frustrating game I ever played. The first level the funhouse was anything but. The level is hard enough with the falling lamps and numerous enemies locked doors double floors and such. But the crow snatching Minnie all the time REALLY takes the cake.

  • so you never played deadly towers, silver surfer and dragons lair?

  • PWND :)

  • @24680987654321 He did Silver Surfer and Dragon's Lair, the latter of which he called the worst NES game of all time...until he plays Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde.

  • From the intro it sounds as though aqualung is sexist

  • why?

  • lol...minnie mouse comments

  • I don't think sexism has anything to do with it. I'm a matriarchist and I found Minnnie Mouse to be annoying in this game too.

  • actually there is a continue in this game! press up+select+start at the same time when the game over screen appears

  • Now I don't feel so bad for never getting through the woods level.

  • Apparently Disney still has fond memories of their partnership with Capcom. They named the main character in the Mission:Space attraction at DisneyWorld (who was played by Gary Sinise) Capcom.

  • Wow! Disney allowed that pink crow to take shits on Mickey and Minnie in this game?!?! I can't believe parents didn't get pissed by this! LOL!

  • ...So, what? Didn't Nintendo do that in Donkey Kong Jr.? :/

  • I totally dig your reviewing style!

  • i love your videos!!

i remember hating this game though.

  • Hated this game when I was a kid. The woods level always did me in.

  • review Darkwing Duck some times

  • Aqualung: There is code to continue on the stage you died in. After you get a game over, at the title screen, simultaneously press Up, A, and B.

  • ho-ly shit. i love your channel.

  • oh my god I use to have this game 6 years ago I got so far...

  • The woods level is like that Level from Kirby Super Star and Click Clock Woods from Banjo Kazooie.

  • I notcied the Invincable thing is the Fairy thing Adventure Island.

  • That's because the game was developed by Hudson Soft.

  • Sounds frustrating. Since you've done a few of the disney games I gotta ask, will you be doing The Lion King some day? That was a great Disney game.

  • And how about Aladdin and The Jungle Book for the Genesis too?

  • So good game , i remember me trying to get past level 2 , its short but , that waves.

  • This was one of the first NES games I owned... I remember only being able to beat it one out of every 4 times I played it

  • I thought the snake boss was Kaa.

  • You don't think that snake boss is the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland?

  • It very well could be. They didn't do a great job with the design of the crocodile, so I guess they could make a blue caterpillar look like an orange snake and still be the same character lol.

  • You should check out the Japanese version of the game, "Mickey Mouse: Fushigi no Kuni no Daibouken" (Adventure in the Mysterious Kingdom)

The bosses & enemies are more in tone to Alice in Wonderland, like on the first level is the Cheshire Cat is the boss, and the second boss looks like Foghorn Leghorn for some reason.

  • Lol. I called them hand grenades when I was a kid. XD

  • it wont load

  • Holy fuck, are those Metroids attacking Mickey!?

  • Mickey Mousecapade was actually made by Hudson Soft. It was only distributed by Capcom in the US because they had exclusive rights to everything Disney, but they had no involvement in the development of this game.

  • Also the Japanese version (known simply as "Mickey Mouse") mainly featured an assortment of "Alice in Wonderland" characters, which would explain the use of Alice at the end of the game.

  • lol "Mystery Friend"

  • after u mentend this game in talespin i saw this review coming

  • you need to edit your video thing. 8:09 - 8:11 you said sping and it was summer.

  • That's weird, I thought I inserted some text pointing out the correction. I guess I deleted it by accident right before I rendered the video? Thanks for noticing though.

  • no the text was there, its pretty quick though.

  • Comment removed

  • This reminds me of back when Undercoverfilmer first reviewed this game...ah man, so it's not just him that thinks some of this crap is bad. @_@ That whole "loop around once THEN find the right tree" in winter is just plain unfair...

  • Thanks for bringing that up. The deja vu feeling was killing me.

  • Indeed!

But, like, for the record or something, I don't mention it to unfairly compare or anything. God knows a game that gets reviewed once is, like, predestined to get covered a thousand times, heh.

  • Inevitable.

  • Oh hell yea, an nes review.

  • its been awhile aqua....

Great review hope to see more of your retro reviews.

  • nice review. looking forward to future ones

  • Yay, nice!

  • The game was originally produced and released by Hudson Soft in Japan. Capcom only distributed it outside of Japan.

  • I remember beating this game back in the good old days before emulators and save states lol. I just rented it. That was enough for me. And I only rented it because it was pretty much the only game to rent. Good video man.
