Asslam Alaikum,

The biggest problem for Western Muslims, especially second/third generation muslims is the Jumaah Kutbah isn't in english but in a foreign tongue of the imam.

By the grace and mercy of Allah we have Ulema like Tawfique Chowdhury who explains the Day of Judgement and all that it entails, in english.

If we just comtemplate that we ALL will have to go THROUGH this day our whole attitude to life would change for the better, especially towards our fellow man.

I live in Luton, UK and however the disenchantment of the younger generations has been due to the fact that we could not understand the kutbah. 

Alhamdullilah, now the kutbahs are in english

and understanding them is very easy.

I know what you mean. I just sit through it without understanding ONE word the Imam said wishing if he would speak in the language I best understand. However many Masjids have the khutbahs in english now, Alhumdulilah.
