This is from the "Lick It Up" tour which started in the fall of 1983 and ended in the spring of 1984. My first concert was seeing Kiss on this tour. Heaven & Vandenburg were the opening acts.

As a huge Kiss fan I am so glad I never saw this era of Kiss live. It's not the music but why did they feel the need to be wanna be Lee Roths. They look awkward and desperate to be something that wasn't needed. How many times in one song can they possibly feel the need to do high kicks. On a positive note they returned to their roots and have kicked serious arse since. \m/

I saw this tour, in Green Bay, WI. 2.14.84 . The one thing that sucked about that is, Riot was off of the tour by then. They had a great live EP back around then.

I saw this tour in in Berkley Ca., It was supposed to be at the San Francisco civic auditorium,but the ticket sales were sucking so bad they got bumped down to the Berkley community theater ,it seats about 2500 and it wasn't even half full.

The only problem I see is that Vinnie Vincent seems awkward. He never did fit into this band very well. He is a good guitarist, but he seems to be struggling with the stage show. He always looked awkward in interviews too.

Vinnie, was fired after this tour ended. According to Gene, he was fired for UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR. Furthermore, he NEVER signed his contract, and never a member of Kiss.

They played at Tingley Coluseum in Albuquerque NM, which seats about 10-12,000 people....there was like 800 people there...IT FUCKING SUCKED SHIT!

I saw then on that same tour and the following 2 tours. Attendance rose in those 3 years. Honestly though, the Lick It Up tour was my favorite. Awesome setlist and they were fucking tight as ever. This is almost my favorite lineup. A close second to the original lineup.

Yeah, a dark period for the band live, although I love Creatures and Lick it Up. I saw them in London's Wembley Arena on the UK leg of the Animalize tour. The arena holds 12,500 and there was about 3,000 there that evening. Still loved it though.

Sorry, but I was backstage on Febuary 14'th 1983 in the New Orleans Superdome. Vinnie is a prancing little faggot (I'm not homophobic), and he's got a thing for nose candy and a whole lot of booze. That, and the fact he never signed a contract was why he was fired. He could barely stand up during the New Orleans show.

And, Vinnie is a showboater sure he's quick, but he can't keep up the pace. I saw it in N.O., Ace could kick his ass on a one on one guitar duel anyday, so could Bruce, or Tommy.

Vinnie played the same solo on "Creatures of the Night" basically note for note for two years. I like his solo on the song. I also like Bruce's solo for the song when they brought it back for the Revenge tour.

It did look like Paul hurt his hip by the way he was grabbing it, yet he continued to do those high leg kicks.

God, what a horrible solo from Vinnie. Just a bit sloppy, but the main problem is that he seems totally oblivious to the song - the solo is off time from the beat of the song, and that makes it sound like a solo to a different song.
